I have been busy tonight and I'm about to crash. One last thing to show off here and it's Dragon's Wrath, it is actually an unfinished drawing BUT since it is a large drawing my scanner can only scan the finished part, convient huh? I am very proud of this dragon, this was my improved work after doing the work from Dragon Art book I got. I was never sure how to do horns and this book explained the skeletal structure of a dragon and how horns grow out of dragons so now it all came together. I think the eyes are a bit small but I was trying to make it look evil and bestial. A more personified dragon could have much larger and expressive eyes. This one is a wild monster bent on destruction, I love it.
Epona
This is a pencil sketch of Epona. Epona is the Celtic Goddess of Horses, Water and Childbirth. I have another smaller sketch of Epona with two horses in this same position except that her arm was too long. I have nude model books but none in the position I needed for what I want Epona to do, I found a 'model' in Brian Froud's good faries bad faries book. It had the positon I wanted if anyone has the book they could find it, it's in the good faires section. After I got the structure I wanted I detailed it the way I wanted, I wanted her to have a robust figure, I'm really skinny which is why I couldn't use myself. I want models with a little flesh on them. This will eventually become a 30 by 40 oil painting. I can't wait to share this on my artid site.
NEW PRINTER
I have got a new printer and am scanning some of my artwork. My first art work scanned is a mini art panel of Redwall Abbey, my daughter Ariel liked it so much she wanted to keep it in her room. I LOVE my new printer and it wasn't much but $40 and I can print, scan, copy and I am learning how to do all this stuff tonight. THIS will help me show my art work more, I can scan my sketches easily and show them on Wet Canvas, I can now do their creature of the month when someone proposes a creature to draw then upload it on that thread. I have never been able to do that because I lacked the means. My dad's scanner was tempermental. This baby is sooooo easy to use. I have been printing off a lot of stuff, coloring pages, worksheets for Ariel's homeschooling work. I am having a ball with this thing.
hi there again
Yeah I just recently posted but it's so cool to be able to be on here longer on a faster running computer. I found the writing program on this thing now we just really need to get a printer/scanner combo and we are all set. My dad has given me his old digital camera so I can use that I just need to get a program so I can mess with the pics and get them ready for sites like artid.com. I was on there last night blogging about a unicorn painting I had fixed up and about the next painting I am to fix, a sea horse, a horse with a fish tail, also called a water Kelpy (kelpie) the resources I have seen used two different spellings. I will have to show before and after pictures on that one, the change will be dramatic.
I am not much of a gamer, but I tried the flash game Winter Bells which is cute but when I played it on the old computer it was slow, but I was able to play it, now on this new computer its so darn fast I cant get myself to a high score. I'm a trivia person myself. We have a DVD documentary at the library called Triviatown, about a small town that every year the whole place gets ready for a major trivia tournament, it's crazy. People will watch movies and collect odd things like cereal boxes to be ready for this thing. The trivia caller is very observant about things and his questions are challenging so people are always readying up by collecting and taking notes of what he could possibly use as trivia questions. The people playing says this is NOT for Trivial Pursuit players it's for hard core serious trivia. Bit of an oxymoron isn't it? The teams are large and one player says the larger the team the better because you can get a very obscure question and you just might have the one person who knows the answer. IT was a great show so try to find it.
Last night I have been working on finding my sites and putting them on my favorites. That's the one thing I hate about doing this, and some stuff I have forgotten what I had links to. Most is homeschooling stuff. Because I am working more hours I need something that would get my eight year old on to learning without me and now I can afford Time 4 learning. She should like it even with her short attention span and it's been highly reccomended by homeschoolers. I'm thinking of getting the printer combo today since we could really use that now. And we have money to burn, so to speak. I'm trying to be reasonable about how to spend my tax return. My husbands friend's wife (whom I don't like) just bought a thousand dollar couch, and they are expecting a second child and they have a dog who ruined their last couch. She is very materilastic and I don't get along with people like that because they think I'm WEIRD. I pride myself on being clever and finding bargans and saying NO to expensive stuff, but when it comes to a computer you HAVE to spend a bit, but at least we got a new but used dell monitor keyboard and mouse by my husbands friend, had to get new speakers but that wasn't much. My husband has a couple of debts to settle, school loans and while part of that will be taken care of this year making our payments less for the rest I think next year I will have a bigger return and we can get another large portion of his loans taken care of. What I don't get about my husband's friends wife is that they had SOLD their baby stuff!! and then a few months later they wanted another kid, they constantly have money problems, I know because my husband tells me when his friend calls constantly to bitch about what is going on. And they spent a thousand dollars on a new leather couch. My husband tells me he is SOOOO glad he married me, he hates materializm. I came from an affluent, materilastic family. Most of what I own is bargans or even dumpster finds, or give aways from others who are moving. I am enjoying the return this year, we got a new set of cooking pans, at a good bargain from walmart and though my husband believes walmart has junk he agrees the set is actually pretty good. I bought some space savers on clearance and got rid of a whole bunch of hangars which I will pass along to the Community Clothes Closet, a cool bargan place, they could use some more hangers, they need to build on another room or something, they get stuff constantly. I found the whole Phonics Game there and I got it for free because I just donated a bunch of stuff! That thing cost $200 brand new. Wow! didn't mean to jabber on for so long but it has been awhile since I could blog without having the computer crash. This emachine is worth it!!
Printer search
With this computer I can watch funny clips that were slow and choppy before this, and more often made the system bogged up or crashed entirely. I did notice that we need to get microsoft word or something. I want to write and I want to get my husband into writing, but we need a printer and I have been looking at the kind that is a combo of scanner and printer. If we do that then also I can put Ariel on Time for learning and she can do that on her own, get her core work done while I'm working, I'm working five hours a day but my hours are adjusted that on the first thursday of the month I can take my kids over to the library for the homeschool social hour. I also can use the printer to do Starfall stuff with Shannon who is three and behind on speaking but the site helps in getting her to say words and to read them, I noticed she is counting up to ten accurtly most of the time. There are sites that I can print off worksheets to give Ariel some extra work in areas that are hard for her. Her math is pretty good but her attention span wavers it's hard to keep her on task. I want to be able to upload my own pictures of my art instead of going to my dad's, I just don't want to blow all my tax return on computer stuff even if it might be worth it.

I worked with Winsor & Newton oil, but I just bought some Van Gogh Talens oils to try them. I use Lukas water colors. I can't buy Lukas oil paint in my local art supply.
