About Me:
September 17, 2008 I will celebrate my birthday and my 25th wedding anniversary. We have 3 sons ages 20, 21 and 24 who have brought the most love, joy, stress and pride to our lives. I grew up helping and learning from my Mom a seamstress and my Dad, a master carpenter. His first anscestor was a master armorer who emigrated to Montreal, Quebec from St. Malo in the mid 1600s. The love of creating and working with my hands is in my blood.
Music:
piano jazz, Eva Cassidy, Lorena McKennit, The Beatles, Lynrd Skynrd, Steppenwolf, Frank Sinatra, Clannad, Altan, Big 'n Rich, Tom Petty, The Eagles, Dave Matthews, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Creed, The Doors, Enya, Annie Lennox, Natalie Merchant, Celtic music, Puddle of Mudd, ZZ Top, Nickelbeck, Stevie Ray Vaughn, U2, violin, Bob Marley, Sublime...and the list just goes on and on...
Movies:
LOTR series, Harry Potter series, The Princess Bride, Steel Magnolias, Like Water For Chocolate, Blazing Saddles, anything with Bette Davis, Lonesome Dove miniseries, The Good The Bad and The Ugly, Batman Begins, Beaches, The Joy Luck Club, Rudy, Fried Green Tomatoes, Alfred Hitchock, Van Helsing, Excalibur, Strictly Ballroom, The Best of Show, Man in the Iron Mask, Count of Monte Cristo, Don Juan DeMarco, Waking Ned Divine, Stardust, The Four Seasons, the original Pink Panther movies, Pirates of the Caribbean, Under the Tuscan Sun, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Gladiator, Braveheart, Rob Roy, Remember the Titans, Sliding Doors, Bridge to Terabithia, Spiderwick, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, It's A Wonderful Life, Pan's Labrynth, Young Frankenstein, Elizabeth, 300, Wait Until Dark, A Christmas Carol (the old one)...and this list just goes on and on...
TV:
Don't watch TV unless it's a movie.
Books:
LOTR series, Harry Potter series, the Joe Pickett novel series, The Chronicles of Narnia, Lonesome Dove, The Hobbit, anything by Louis L'Amour, Wicked, Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee, Night, Gone With the Wind, Stones From the River, The Reader, She's Come Undone, Don Quixote, Catherine the Great, Nicholas and Alexandra, The Soong Dynasty, Victorian Gothic novels...and this list just goes on and on too...
Likes:
Cappucino on Sunday morning, dining outside on warm sunny days and evenings, a nice cold shower after working and sweating in the yard all day, soft clean sheets after that shower, romantic ambience, candlelight, incense, fantasy, anything that allows me to feel the wind on my face--driving my old beat up jeep with the top down, going for a boatride on the lake, riding my bicycle fast downhill--, meeting new people, bowl of hot homemade soup on a cool fall day, having fun with my girlfriends, kisses from my doggies, getting a text message from my kids, Halloween and Halloween parties, my tree peony, fresh basil and garlic, pink, yellow and green, out west in the mountains, that time of year September through December, kayaking, pina coladas, lacrosse, football, old folks, a really good chardonnay...
Dislikes:
rudeness and arrogance, taking a shower on cold winter mornings, ignorance combined with a know-it-all attitude, self-righteousness, most but not all seafood, white shoes, pantyhose, lies, dishonesty, disloyalty, status symbols, intolerance, snobbery, greed, raw tomatoes, tequila, hypocrisy, boxing, watching TV, news in particular, superior attitudes, the endless work on our 168-year old house (am quite tired of it now), malicious gossip
Hobbies:
photography, knitting, sewing, crocheting, beadweaving, rubber stamping, kayaking, interior decorating, making jewelry with just about anything, cooking,
Vices:
too critical mostly of myself, procrastinator, sometimes I give up too easily, too shy, lack of confidence, collect too many things, don't have alot of self-discipline, worry a bit too much about things I have no control over
Virtues:
generous, fun-loving, kind, cheerful, kooky, adventurous, honest, loyal (almost to a fault), open-minded, non-judgmental, free spirited, creative, compassionate, good mom and wife, not really a virtue, but I speak fluent French and American Sign Language, (my French Canadian relatives tell me I now speak French with an English accent)
Heroes:
My husband. He always stands for what he belileves in. Will defend it "to the death". My hubby is strong of body, mind and heart. He is protective of the innocent, those weaker than himself and especially of me and our 3 sons. He passionately believes in justice. And his love of family above all else, makes him perfect for me.

Salut Sylvie. St. Malo is a wonderful place. I loved walking upon the wall, looking down into that big city. So... with Breton roots, that makes you part of the Celtic Clan! ;^) Tommy |
