About Me: I'm a bit shy at first then when I get to know people a little more I tend to chat more.
I spend a great deal of time working on crafts or costumes. I also enjoy photographing gardens. This is where my love for fairies began.
I love to travel and go crazy for old buildings. I would very much like to photograph Italy some day.
My favorite time of year is Spring and Fall.
The smell of moss reminds me of fairies.
I try to use it as often as possible when I'm making a costume.
To see more of my work please visit me at www.ALexandriaLaNier.net

My favorite artist is Thomas Barbey.
    visit him at www.ThomasBarbey.com
    Music: Depends on my mood.
    I like everything.
But if I had to choose a song right now it would be something that would make me want to get up and dance from Shakira.
Movies: I'm a huge fan of classic movies.
Gone With the Wind, Casablanca and Breakfast at Tiffany's. I like movies with ladies in gowns and if they can't be in a gown they should at least look amazing in a suit.

Comedy: Bob Hope, Abbott & Costello, Steve Martin, Jim Carrey, Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, Jack Black, Drew Barrymore, Robin Williams, Billy Crystal and so many more.

I grew up in the 80's so pretty much anything from that generation is AMAZING!!!

My favorite character actor is Johnny Depp, I first fell in love with him in Benny & Joon.

Leonardo DiCaprio is my all time favorite actor.
I love his movies, I just hate when he dies in them. I can't tell you how many times he's broken my heart.

Of course my all time favorite movies are big budget movies that go all out on set design and COSTUME. Star Wars is number one. Marie Antoinette makes me want to put on a ball gown and sit around eating chocolates and petite petifores for absolutely no reason at all.

I'm a girl through and through but still love movies like Gladiator or 300.
Who doesn't like hot muscular men all sweaty with huge gorgeous muscles in tiny costumes?

I especially love movies during the holidays like Harry Potter and Hocus Pocus at Halloween.

My favorite Disney Movie is a toss between Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan.

I can't leave out Romance or anything with a Asian theme. (Like Water for Chocolate and Geisha)I also love movies that take me to different parts of the world, as
I'm completely fascinated by world culture.
TV: I really don't watch t.v. that often.
No News unless I have to watch it, then I prefer Comedy Central news. I like my bad news given to me delicately or with humor.
When I do watch t.v. I enjoy the Discovery Channel, The Travel Channel,
Ninja Warrior on G4 with my son and the rest I just skip through until something looks good.
    Books: Fantasy, Romance and Mystery
    Sherlock Holmes to Harry Potter
    Anything from Candlewick Press
I'm always looking for something good to read and not always fiction.
My Favorite magazine is Vogue of course second would be ELLE because they do a lot of shoots outdoors and in gardens.
Likes: Creative people, the sound of children laughing, fishing, swimming, blue skies,
sunshine, rainbows, butterflies, hills full of green grass, lavender, roses, irises, owls, my favorite tree is the Weeping Willow, the sound of waves crashing on the shore, palm trees, sand dunes and the country.
Dislikes: People that are mean to children or animals.

    Anything depressing or too sad.
    I just can't stomach it.

People that can't be trusted and people that hurt other people. So basically war is OUT.
    Liars, Jealousy and
    Pollution
Hobbies: Crafting, photography, dress making, people watching and shopping for that perfect outfit.
    Vices: Ice cream and Cake
    Virtues: Confidence
    Quick thinker
    friendly
    multi tasked
When I say I'm going to do something I do it. If I can't, then I will tell you why I chose not to. I always trust my instincts.

Heroes: Superman, James Bond and my husband.
    Batman is pretty cute too.

    The Mad Hatter's Tea Party

I apologize for being absent.  I've been working very hard on my latest project, Alice In Wonderland.  I chose this project because it's perfect for sharpening my Photoshop skills.  I'm still working with fairies.  I have a new Green Fairy named Eden.  I will be shooting her this November and December.  Please know that even when I am busy, I always think of you and look forward to checking in on your projects as well.

May wings of flight guide your dreams.

Fairy Child ~ Amy Brown Inspiration

I've been up to all kinds of mischief these days and had to share my latest little creation.  Fairy Child is a piece inspired by Amy Brown.  It's a funny thing, when I looked at the original image it just screamed "Amy Brown"!  The rest just fell into place.

    Fairy Magic!

I'm still hanging out on flickr most of the time, so feel free to visit me there if you get a chance.

Sorry... I'm spending more time absorbing the delish background. Light and aerie, from the leaves & butterflies to the Atlas moth. From the lightly woven frame gracing their presence, to an echoing assemblage of faery dust shaping the pattern of freshly-breathed wings.

I just love the direction your creativity is taking you with the addition of your newer skills!

    Love it Xan-Xan!

    Beyond the Magical Doorway

I'm super busy these days, but had to stop in for a peak to say hello.

All is well, just wrapping up projects and getting ready for spring.
The new Fairy Princess gown is looking fabulous and the new Green Fairy costume is almost complete.  They are both so beautiful, I don't know which one I'm more excited about.

The Fairy Court bath line is going to be available soon on the new web site and the official Fairy Court logo is getting it's trade mark. Plus I've got a few new things in the fire.  If time permits this year is going to be extremely productive.

I wish all of you a fabulous 2009 full of magical blessings.

    Hey Xan3,

Wow, you beat alll of those other artists? I liked one of your other ones better though... I also liked this one, this two, this three, this four, this five, this six, this seven, this eight, this nine, and this ten.

    Wow. You did really well!

Hey - question. There were a couple of images, one with a butterfly over the face and one with a Shiva one a bare-back. In both the idea was right, but the artists didn't wrap the images to the "wavy" shapes of the face and back. I can't do that in PS 7 either. Do you know if there is a filter to "bend" stuff like that to make it look more in sync with the image? Just curious...

Thanks for all the good stuff! :^) (^: ;^)

    Alex,

I agree, I just wanted to see another parents opinion. I still get greif from family and friends for allowing my older son to watch Jurasic park movie when he was only 5 or 6 and allow my 7 year old to still watch Paz the Peguin. I appeciate your taking the time to let me know how you feel.

Alex, I have a question. Have you let your 8 year old see the very last film made of Star Wars? When Anikin actually becomes Darth Vadar? Now I don't have a problem with violence. My boys have seen Jurasic Park movies,Peal Harbor, Titanic, Transformers, although maybe I should have seen Iron Man before I let them see it to explain the terrorist sences better. We had never allowed them to view any of the documentaries of 9/11 until now, but only my 9 ear old and only after thoughtful explainations. My problem with The last movie is Anikin truning to the dark side and killing all the jedi, the children, the ending fight with his loving master and all that. Its such a dark and depressing movie, the same with Spiderman 3 and the New Batman which they haven't seen either. What do you think?

I took me some time to go through all her pictures and tutorials....Wow, she is really good. Her work is beautiful. She has an interesting style and way of working. Her finished pieces have even more of a "painterly" look to them than mine! It's hard to tell whats photo and what's not sometimes.

I found her main website, too. Did you see that: www.thegraphicgroove.com/

It's very nice. Thanks for sending me her name, I really enjoyed seeing her work. Have you ever contacted her in any way?

Thanks for the comment on The Ghost and the Fairy. I have really begun to enjoy creating (or altering) costumes right in PS, which is what I did in that picture. I can use materials that I would not be able to in "real life"!!

    Hi Alexandria,

So nice to meet you. What beautiful fantasies you have created in your photos! I really enjoy them!

I share your love of movies (especially costume ones.) I love Johnny Depp too. And I also think Decaprio is great. Have you ever see what is probably one of his first movies - THE BASKETBALL DIARIES? He is very young there. He does a wonderful and emotional acting job in that one!

I agree, Marie Antoinette had such lovely costumes! I look forward to seeing THE DUCHESS coming out soon, which I'm sure will be the same. I think Keira Knightley is so elegant and beautiful!

I too love gardens. That's where the Fairies appear! Keep up your beautiful art!

    Best wishes,
