Chapter One. Nino in Wonderthine. Part [A]

Monday, November 19, 2007, 09:07 PM EST [General]

Nino sat on a rock, crunching away at what looked like a weird shaped long star that tasted rather like a cross between an apple, and a rather sour pineapple. She was hungry, bored, and even more curious as to where this silly path whent to. It had to go somewhere, she told herself, taking another bite of the fruit, and wishing she hadn't. She tossed it on the ground, looked up, and sighed. The view from her little makeshift chair was, to say the least, spectacular. You could see the eastern mountians even, most of the time it was to overcast for that. She sighed again, and then after another long silence, for a third time. And thats when she felt something crash into her and knock her to the ground. She hit her head and before she sliped into an uncountius state, she saw a pair of bright multicolored eyes blinking at her.

When she awoke almost no time had passed. She was lying in a heap beside her rock, and all she could remember was...

"You know, Kopokalai fruit is bad for a human. Good for us half breed Kokoros though." Said a voice rather suddenly behind her. She spun around to see the strangest thing she had ever witnessed. The creature, who's voice she assumed had just spoken, was only about three feet in hight, and was covered in golden brown hair. It looked like a cross between a human child, and a small lion. It had claws, and teeth, and a main even. But it's eyes looked human, exept for the shade of course witch was a rainbow of swirling color. She sat back, still agast at this strange little monster before her eyes. Now normaly when we think of strange beasts and such, we think them of being unclothed. That was no such thing. This creature had a filthy little pair of pants, and a matching tunic, that looked as though it was once white. Now it was almost black. "You really must watch after yourself if you don't want to get a belly ache." It said as it took another bite of Nino's discarded fruit.

"Wh-wh-what are you?" Asked Nino in a very clishe way.

"I told you I'm a kokoro half breed." It hopped up onto the rock and began crunching away again at the fruit.

    "What's a Ko-ko-whatever?"

"Ko-ko-ro" Said the little creature licking it's lips. "And you don't know what a Kokoro is?! You must live in a Batushka cave or something."

"A batu what?!" Asked Nino, starting to freek out just a little.

"Where you from girl?" Asked the creature glaring at her "Tera?!"

And at that very moment Nino realized that she was talking to a strange creature, in a strange world, possilbly lightyears away from earth, and that she may never see her parents ever again. A very big burden to bear for a seventeen year old modern teen.

"What's your name?" Asked the creature suddenly. "My name is Jakathra. You may call me Ka."

"Um..." Nino thought for a moment tring to remember her name. She had gone numb. She couldn't think, couldn't feel. It was as though her brain had just shut down. "My name is Nino. Nino Talabella." The creature sputtered and bits of fruit whent flying everywhere. "Nino Talabella? What kind of name is that? 'She who is reborn' indeed." It threw the fruit on the ground and turned twords Nino. "So, what's a human chit like you doing on the outskirts of Mokkdar?"

"You're a rather insulting little monster." Said Nino, standing up and glaring down at him. "You must be a boy."

"Why thank you!" Said the little monster standing on the rock and bowing. "But you still haven't given me an answer." Nino looked down at him with a I-am-much-bigger-than-you look and said "That's none of your business." And she turned around.

"Oh really." Came a much deeper, more masculen voice from behind her. She whirled around and there, standing on the rock was a tall golden haired man with multi-colored eyes, and a large catlike grin. His clothes were different, he was wearing a pair of boots and black pants with a white puffy shirt and a red and gold tunic. He looked perfectly human, exept his cat like nature. He jumped off the rock and walked twords her, taking full advantage of her shock at his transformation. "Now. You are a truely a rare human, I can see that. Your clothes are not of this world and you have not been tought that man is above woman, even if I do look like a child." He wandered in a circle around her and finaly said "Tell me where you come from."

And so she told him everything. About the church, and about her life, and all sorts of random things. He had bewitched her somehow, and she didn't like the fact that every time he asked a question she blurted out the answer, and it was all true. It made her feel just a tidbit helpless.

An interesting start to what I am sure will be an interesting story... You WILL be posting more, right?

One very minor quibble -- it's 'Mane' when referring to a ruff of hair, not 'main'. (Sorry, the proofreader in me just had to do it!)

I want to be LOVED. That's all.

Stop. Take a look around you. What do you see? Your house? A city? Or do you see what I see. The elements, taking shape bonding. Do you see that all creatures around you, are the same as you? That you are mearly an animal using this earth. That you do not own anything, that you mearly use it. And that when you see these things, that you see that what this world has become it wrong. We are not any better than the animals we keep as pets. We are one, with the elements.

And throught the field I shall wander, only to wander back to you. And with blank eyes I shall look upon you so that your beauty shall be written upon a page forever in my mind. I shall kiss you with virgin lips, so that you are the only one I have ever kissed. I shall hold you in my open arms, so that you will never feel shut out. And I shall tell you my story with warm breath, so that when you hear of my pain, you will not feel cold.

Why give in to those who would wish to over power you?

Music fills my soul. Every song I hear and love has a meaning to me. Classical fills my heart with feeling and grace. Rock fills me soul with exitement, and power. Love songs, fill me with faith, and sadness. But most of all music empowers me, to do what I need to and what is right.

    Be like music, and flow.

I'm really scared. Frightened to death, of the rest of my life. I hate how kids just have the rest of their lifes, just thrust upon them when they are young. I feel broken. Just shattered into a thousand peices.

I am the light and the dark. The sun, and the moon. I give life and I take it. Who I am, is not who I choose to be. I was created out of pain and sadness. I am a being of emotion.

Please, I beg thee. For every man who has lost his life, for every woman who has cried in vain. For every child who held a knife, and every soldier that has ever been slain, for their sake, I do employ, bring peace, fill their hearts with joy. If thou durst not head my words, than hear this, thou shalt die by my iron fist. So head my words, oh noble coward, bring peace to this land, or thou shalt be devoured be they own greed, and pride, and may god be thy true guide.

Hope was the only thing that stopped me from a better life, now the only thing that stops me is regret.

Arathine; The First Saga. Destiny. Prologue [B]

Monday, October 22, 2007, 11:33 PM EST [General]

Several thousand years later, in another universe...

Nino was bored. Again. She had been living in Nottingham for about two months now, and the exitement, had worn off. About a month and a half ago. But now, it was just ground into the earth. She counted on her fingers. America, Japan, Russia, France, Germany, India, Egypt, Brazil, Mexico, Austria, Hungry, (By this time she was counting on her toes) Italy, Spain, and finaly, England. And she had grown bored with all of them. (Although she didn't learn much about america because they left when she was five) And now she had grown bored with the newest in a long line of countries that she had been draged too. Two weeks. The shortest out of all of them.

Nino looked out her bedroom window as she leaned against it. It was the middle of winter, January, and there was a lite blanket of snow on the ground. And man, all she wanted to do was take a walk. But her mother told her to stay put, and not leave the house while she, and her father were out. She grunted a little. She didn't like the idea of being seventeen and not being able to go out of her house while her mother was away. "I'm practicaly an adult." She mumbled to herself, walking away from the window. She sat down at her desk, and turned on her computer. God she was bored. Usualy, when Nino was bored, she wrote. She kept an online journal of her travels, and loved to look back at it. She tapped at her keyboard, and then stoped, and looked back out the window. Now, she REALLY wanted to take a walk. "That's it. Parent's be damned, I need to walk." She threw up her hands, and stood. She grabbed her coat on the way out, and her bag, and as the door shut behind her, her computer seemed to know she would never return, and shut it's self off.

    Same time, different universe...

Jeph stood near the window, one boot on the edge as he looked out over his city, and beond, to the sea. He sighed. He was bored. He looked out twords the sea and felt the salt air hit him and sighed. He loved the sea. The smell, the way it crashed upon the shore. It was wonderful.

"Jeph?" Came a tiny and feeble voice from the corner of the room. Jeph turned and sighed. His sister was proped up in bed and was staring at Jeph with a curious look. "What are you doing?"

"Nothing sis, just" -He sighed again- "thinking."

    "About what?"

"Everything Tes." He said taking his boot off the window cill. "I just wish I could find..." His voice trailed off, and he had a pained look on his face.

"I know Jeph. I know." Tes said, smileing in a sort of sad way. Jeph crossed the room, and kissed his sister on the head. "I be back soon. Don't get out of bed unless you really need to."

"Alright." She said in a happy tone. Jeph smiled at her, and walked out of the room.

Jeph walked down the stone road as he passed others, and smiled. He was going to the head Old One's home. A place, very few old ones go. Jeph smiled as he watched regular people go about their day. Shouting orders, or yelling advertisments. They were normal people doing normal things. Exept for one, small difference. They were all Old Ones. The Old Ones, a clan dateing back to the times of Kall himself. They were the blood of Kuman. And held the world's greatest tresure. The sword of Kall. It was common knowlage in this city. Children grew up with the knowlage of what happened so many years ago, and were proud to have the blood of Kuman running through their hearts. So when the head Old One called him to his home, it must be something important. Jeph turned many corners, said hello to several people untill finaly he came upon the head Old One's house. He was let in, and instructed to stay in the hall. Jeph waited silently, although he did feel more exited about this than he had about anything in a long time.

"Jeph. There you are." Said the head Old One, walking down the hallway. "Come into my office." Jeph followed and once the entrance was covered he said "Hello Kuman. Good to see you."

Kuman was the purest of blood of the Old Ones, and so was the head of the entire city. He was the first born, of a first born, of a first born and so on. Kuman was tall, and lean with slightly curly black hair. He was tan, and very well built where as Jeph, well Jeph was different. Jeph was dirty blond, tall, but not nearly as tall as Kuman, but still rather tall. His skin was whiter, his body wider built.

"I assume that you will want to know why you are here." Said Kuman lightly.

    "Yes." Said Jeph softly.

"Well Jeph, there is something I need to tell you. And, you may not like it."

"What is it? It it about my sister?! Is she going to be okay?!" Said Jeph, starting to panic.

"What? No! No it's not about your sister Jeph." Jeph breathed a sigh of relief.

"Well what is it?" Asked Jeph, rather relived it wasn't about his sister's failing health. Kuman hesitated, and then said, rather slowly "It's about your blood." Jeph held very still for a moment and then said "What do you mean my blood?"

"Jeph, your parent's never told you about your heritge, did they?" Jeph stared at Kuman, speachless for a moment. "I thought as much." Kuman sighed and then said "Well there is no other way to tell you so I'm just going to tell you. Jeph, your the last living desendant, of Kall."

"What?!" Said Jeph, his mouth open.

"I wanted to tell you when you turned sixteen, but the council of elders would not permit it, I'm sorry."

"But...but I thought Kall never had a child. No wait, he did, but he was killed as a child!"

"Kall had a bastard child." Kuman said quietly. "Even he didn't know about it. He had made love to a woman when he was drunk, never even knew the girls name. After Kall's death, she came forward with the boy, and gave him to our ancestor Kuman." Both Kuman and Jeph murmured something to the efect of "Our ancestor and father that hath given us power" and kissed their fingers and placed them to their heads. "Anyway, so you are the last living decendant of Kall."

"What about Tes? She's my sister!"

"She is a woman. She cannot posably take the trial. But you can Jeph." Kuman walked twords Jeph and placed his hands on his shoulder. "You could have Kall's spirit inside of you." Jeph didn't say anything for a long time. He just stared at the floor.

"What if your wrong?" Jeph said slowly, looking at Kuman. "What if I'm not Kall?"

"Then by our god Jagrafes, I swear to you, we will all be killed."

Not to far away, in the very hall Kall died in...

    "I"M BOOOOOORRRRRED!!!!!! I'M BORED I'M BORED I'M BORED I'M BORED I'M BOOOOOO-"

"SHUT UP PRINCE GARETH!" Cried the King in frustration. He was siting on his throne as the prince was banging on the floor in one of his fits. Shouldn't a man of twenty have gotten over behaving like a two year old by now? Apparently not thought the king, looking down at his son.

"I want...a...new...thing...to...DO!" The prince snifled and then shouted.

Prince Gareth was a handsome man, with dark brown eyes, and long black hair. He behaved like a two year old sometimes, and sometimes, like a love starved soldier. At the moment, he was acting like both, for he suddenly got up, grabbed the nearest wench, and started to kiss her. Rather hard. The king sighed and said "Prince Gareth." In a rather I-am-your-father-and-you-need-to-listen-to-me-tone. Gareth let go of the poor girl, and said "What?!"

    "It's time you got married."

And so Nino walked twords her fate, that was filled with princes and dragons, magic, and romance, but in the way she thought it would be. Things were about to get very strange for Nino of Tera. Very strange indeed.

Arathine; The First Saga. Destiny. Prologue [A]

Sunday, October 21, 2007, 10:57 PM EST [General]

Not a sound could be heard in the great hall of Dul Mokkdar. A strange and choking silence had fallen over the royal banners, sculptures and the blue stone floor. And then suddenly there was a cry, a sob, emiting from a rather tall man kneeling on the floor. He was crying. No, he was more than just crying, He was mourning, sobbing uncontrolably for the loss of his nephew, his sister, and his best friend. The tall man was kneeling, his friend sprawled out in front of him, blood pooling all around him, but all he could think about was his friend. He crawled twords his friend, his hands pressing against the blood as he made his way forward. He touched his friend's deep brown hair. It was wet, and rather slick as he lifted his head, and lay it down in his lap. Tears flooded down his face as he looked upon his friend. And suddenly, he noticed that he was breathing.

"Kall?!" He shouted franticly griping his friend's head tighter. "Kall your alive!"

"But not for long..." Kall weezed. His voice was thin and choked, it was as though he couldn't breathe. "I'm...I'm..."

    "Don't...d-don't say it..."

"I'm dieing, Kuman." Kall said, his eyes glazed and unfocused.

"You don't have to die, you can fight, you-"

"No! Kuman..." Said Kall a little more forcefuly. "It's time for me to go." Kuman sat there holding Kall's head gasping and sobbing all the while, shaking his head and ocationaly muttering "No."

"I should be with them. I should be with Duna, and Gareth." Kuman shook his head harder as Kall tryed to move his hand, wanting to comfort his friend. But he was to weak. He had lost to much blood. Kall felt the hot sting of tears as he tryed to look at his friend. "I want you to do something for me. I need you to do this for me." Kuman said not a word, but it was in his eyes. He would never say no. Could never say no. Not to Kall, not his dieing wish.

"I need you to take my sword. Keep it hidden. Keep it safe. I will return, Kuman, not in this body, But my spirit will live forever. Our god Jagrafes watches over me, and will bring me back."

Kuman said nothing as he stared at Kall. Kuman was not quite understanding what Kall was saying, All he knew was that it was important.

"There will be signs." he continued "I will return with eyes of the sea, and I will come from another land. I will not know our tounge, but I will beable to speek it without ever learning how. I will be able to name every star in the heavens with knowlage unknown, and when I take my sword in hand, it will know it's master, and the crystal will burn blue." He looked up at Kuman and said "Kuman, you are like a brother to me. Do not fail me. Keep the sword hidden...keep it...safe. Find...me...broth-"

But he never finished that sentance. He died there, in Kuman's hands. Kuman never forgot that day, even as he lay on his death bed, he told his great great grandshildren of that day, and how brave his friend had been. And thousands of years passed, people died, fought, lived, and laughed. And no one knew the truth no one suspected that Kall's sword was hiddden away, for no ones eyes but Kuman's. And Kuman's children, and his children's children, and his children's children's...the list may go on forever. But one thing is cirtain. Kall wanted Kuman and his blood to watch after that sword.

And that's just what they did.

So, I'm going to be using this blog to write a bunch of stories that I've had cookin' in my head forever. So yeah. Just a little info.

These storys are the lives of three people. All live in this world, Arathine, however, they all live in different timelines.

Nino Talabella is a normal american italian girl, who's family moves all over. Finaly her mother decides to settle down in england. After two months in her new home town, Nino wanders into the forest on the outskirts of town, and comes across an unusual looking ruin. She steps into the building to find it a rather old looking temple. However, when she steps out again, she finds herself in a vastly different world. Arathine is a vast world, not unlike her own, but filled with danger. The city she comes to is filled with strange people, some thinking she is the reincarnation of a dead hero, but that's imposible, right?

Loon Onaka is the daughter of the last of an famous clan of mages, however her father becomes a simple merchant instead of a warrior. Her family shuns her and her father, and her father opens a shop in the capitol city of the mages. However, he was killed several years later, and little Loon is left to fend for herself. She turns twenty one, and is now a official mage, and wanders about the Dpollo country in serch of a life of her own. She descovers hidden friends, and enemies in the quest for the crystal stalf, a magical stalf with the power to rule all. But will she use this power wisely?

Sillen is a girl in a land where men rule all. Her skin is unmarked where the markings on ones skin deturmens your station in life. She is forced into slavery, the only one of her kind she is forced to bow and scrape for the higher class of people. However, a monk in desguise saves her of her fate, and shows her the world, and in return she gives him her heart.

Nino Talabella is back, (Or as she is more commonly called "Soul") only many years later, when she has become ruler of the land of the moon, and iles of the sun. Her journies take her to far off lands when she meets fox men, blind monks, and when she comes back, she finds a man who is from her own world in the temple she came from. Can she ever return with this man, or will she chose to stay, with him by her side?
