    SPECTRUM

    Monday, November 26, 2007, 01:31 PM [General]

It's been asked so I thought I should elaborate. I volunteer for SPECTRUM, a group for LGBTQA teens. That stands for Lesbian, Bisexual, Gay, Transgendered, Questioning teens, and their Allies. It's for teens ages 14-18 in Berks County PA and we meet once a week. Most meetings revolve around some sexuality education, but often we'll have guest speakers to talk about local services and safety and sometimes we'll watch LGBT-related movies or just have a dance party. It's always one of the high points of my week, and it's great to be around all these energetics youths.

    Faericon '07

    Wednesday, October 17, 2007, 02:49 PM [General]

I did the Faericon thing in Philly last weekend, got to see Brian Froud and I waite din line for like a year to get him to sing something.  Twice. Saw some amazing costumes and some just crazy costumes.  Sunday I dressed up like some form of pirate, but I neglected to get any pictures.  that's ok though.  I was absolutely mind-fried by the whip and wash of colors and sparkles and happy-go-wonderful.  Oh well, time to wait for Wicked Faire.

Hi Arcane, so sorry that I have taken so long to Welcome you here and to Thank you for joining EF, I got really behind with my welcomes whilst on our trip - your homeland is wonderful by the way! Sadly we only got to see the inside of the Convention centre as we whizzed back off to Maryland to spend the next week working on the magazine. But now I see why you all like the Autumn - coz it's warm and sunny!! Not like the UK, unless we're lucky!
Please may we hear more about your youth group volunteering? I'm not sure what those initials stand for and would be really interested to know. Anyone who works with the youth is a hero in my book.
I'm sure I saw you swashbuckling your way around FaerieCon somewhere...
