Yule tide blessings and yule fayre photos

Monday, December 21, 2009, 03:34 PM GMT [General]

I wish all my friends and every one on EF a wonderful Winter Solstice.

At the weekend I took part in the Yule fayre at Canterbury selling my art work. I made some lovely new friends and had a great time even though the snow and ice stopped a lot of people coming.

I loved examining these captures up close. You have a nice assortment of good stuff to sell there. (Just keep hanging on to the handsome one though. ;^)
I have to admit though... Would future kids have his ears, or yours?

Any way here is an update of what is happening.

Finished my angel picture I might post her up here..

been to a faerie ball at the end of November and it was wicked, everyone way dressed up for it. The next day was a fantasy art show with artists such as Brian and Wendy Froud, Linda Ravenscroft and Josephine Wall in attendance. It was an excellent event.

    A new WIP

Friday, October 30, 2009, 03:25 PM GMT [General]

I finished a christmas card featuring a lovely cute Reindeer, you can see it here: www.zazzle.co.uk/reindeer_greeting_card-...

I am now working on another card for Christmas but have had to stop because I have hurt my arm. Here is a sneak peak!

I am so sorry to hear your arm is still hurting. But your WIP is really looking good.
And I also had a chance to check out the Reindeer card you mentioned.....I love that one, very nice job. I really liked the colors.

How neat. You work so photogenically. Yes, the arm bug. I've got one of those too, but now that I'm not working, it's going away slowly but surely. (I'm sure it's not as bad as your's though!)

The reindeer looks way too cool! (I had to cast a vote for that! :^)

    a new look logo

Friday, October 16, 2009, 03:21 PM GMT [General]

I decided it was time to change my old logo that I have had for many years now and make a new up to date logo which reflects more on my current art work. Hope you like it!!

I have to agree that it's a bit confusing... you might want to change it to read, "Fantasy & Fauna by LHG". Just a suggestion...

I like it but do agree with RdeHwyll's comment.
I did realise it was your initials but not everyone might.
The lettering and images are lovely :)

Oh Wow!! It turned out beautiful!
I really love the expression on the lady's face and also the draping of her dress. It has been a real treat to watch the progression of your work.

It's terrific! I also love your bark on the tree, quite creative you got there, the falls behind her, and the general blurring of the farther background (very drawing to the characters). One thing I'm curious about is that I wonder if that single tree on the hill has some significance, as it is it's own little picture, drawing the eye there. (Is this part of a story where that tree figures prominently?)

This turned out fabulous. I like the tree bark too. I can feel the texture just looking at it. Nice detail on his pant leg, the faery star and tree. His stance and the body language of both characters is intriguing.

Whew!!! Am I relieved! Thanks for your reassuring words, Lindsey. I don't think you're a chav either! My Kent is a little village in a beautiful landscape of hilly woodlands. It's a good place to be. Your cards look fabulous, by the way. Cheers!

I have an old version of Painter and never learned to use it. I heard the new versions are much more User Friendly. I love some of the things Painter can do. I started using Photoshop because my computer guru Significant Other had it on hand. Now I am so accustomed to it and have so many techniques worked up with it that I may never switch. Still there is this part of me that wants a copy of Painter. :)

    Hi Lindsey,

Thanks for the nice comment! I too would like to support myself with my art. Hope I can figure out how to get people to my website! What program do you use for your artwork. Mine is done on Photoshop so I'm curious. Many people use the same programs with very different results. It's what makes the world of Faerie interesting!
