It is good to be alive. Just simply that. No fanfare, no earth shattering trumpets, just thankfulness to draw a breath, open one's eyes, sniff the fragrances of the day, and live.
Rain
It finally rained a bit here in Paradise. Watering the grass and flowers and providing the fairies with a bit of refreshment. It is hot and humid, sticky and clammy but it is summer here in Paradise. Don't really care what the calendar says about June 21st being the the first day. The seasons here do not follow the numbers on the calendar. Tomorrow is Father's day and I will miss mine. My husband will enjoy the granddaughters and our daughter but our son is in Nashville so it will be a bit bittersweet. We hope to go see him later this summer. I miss my son's sardonic humor and intelligent conversations. He is reaching for the stars in Nashville and he is "Tallest Trees" and also in "Tommy and the Whale."
To all the Fathers, I wish time. Time to love, laugh and enjoy!
HOT
The temperatures went from a pleasant 80's to a scorching 90+ with humidity in the 80's so our heat indexes are ranging from 105 to 110. Hot and then some. I walked my garden at 7:00 in the upper 70's and saw the flowers beginning to greet the new day. I shall spend most of mine indoors with air conditioner on full blast here in Paradise. I expect this heat in August but in June?! Global warming. I hate to run the air conditioner but I cannot take the heat any more. I am whining a bit. Because I am just in that whining frame of mind. I am going to gather my beads, my fibers, and turn the air up to 80 and pretend to be cool. Have a cooler day and think cooling thoughts, my friends. Dance in the shade and drink lots of water!!!!!!
