Height:6'1"
Religion:Jedi
About Me:Crafting faeries (and other flying things) all my life. Designing/building my own wings from scratch and living my childhood dreams one meter (or a thousand) up.
Originally from the Bay Area, I now live in Rough & Ready, California.
Music:Loreena McKinnett my fave overall. Love lots of others too. "Imagine" has always been my favorite song. "What a Wonderful World" (Louis!) my favorite song of hope. My favorite album: "Moodfood" by Moodswings. Upon hearing this album, it immediately knocked all my top "10s" into #8 spots.
Movies:"Star Wars" and "The Seven Faces of Dr. Lao" immediately come to mind... Lots of others too. Always loved the Sinbad movies featuring Ray Harryhausen's special effects while I was growing up.
Books:David Eddings: "The Belgariad" and "The Mallorium." Love this guys subtle (and realistic) plugs on religion/politics too.
My favorite spiritual book was by two of my absolute favorite people: Bill Moyers interviewing Joseph Campbell in "The Power of Myth."
Likes:Light, Flight. Lately, drawing Celtic wings for my færies.
Dislikes:Selfish-righteous, insecure people who lack the courage to comprehend Nature and portray it honestly. Religious zealots. Sheeple. People who lack the guts to think outside of their narrow mindset and for themselves, instead forcing their leaders' garbage on others.
Hobbies:Photoshop, photography, astronomy☄, geology, history, anthropology (both), linguistics, sewing kites, and gardening all fall in here, but making kids feel treasured beats all of the above.
Vices:Pretending it's too cold / hot outside to go for my bike ride, i.e., Lazy. (Bad Tommy!)
Virtues:Freethought. Critical thinking, because honesty is the only true reality.
Heroes:Superman. Thomas Jefferson. Thomas Paine. Bill Moyers. Eddie Lama. Sarah McLachlan.
Imagine you're in a big hardware store, looking for wood. You think you've found the beams you want and lean over to inspect them. Suddenly, right from out of a dark cleft in front of you, a kitten pops out, tail up, mewling, obviously wanting to play! Your surprise turns into a smile, and you fetch a clerk to help you. "Where did this little one come from?" you ask her. She smiles, saying that ferral cats live outside, though one had kittens inside, and that the kittens are obviously quite friendly. "Would you like to keep it?" she asks, and knowing that you've been thinking of getting a kitty recently, your heart quickly says "yes."
So this is "Cali." The Calico. She's actually my neighbor Teri's kitten, though we're like family (I get to see her all the time). Obviously I couldn't resist photographing her, eh? ;^)
Oh and btw, that "heart" pattern on her side? That's no Photoshop trick. It's entirely natural.
The heart: how unusual! I have my once-upon-a-time-kitten right here on the end of my bed. Willow-the-White was also a feral kitten. One of my clients had told me of a MamaCat leading her kitten band out in the snow and there was a white kitten! I'd never had a white one, so I asked the lady if she could catch it. I remember coming to pick up the kitty and he was under a laundry basket cage. Took the tiny white ball home. He slept that night under my neck, trying to nurse!
Out watering the lawn today, I noticed a Tree Frog hippity-hoppiting away. I then remembered a photo I saw one of you put up here, and the rest is history... (One photo goes to Lesley's site, one to the new image. ;^)
The faery Cassandra dost bring us love and light, whereas the faery Celena dost be a goddess of Luna. I do be so glad to see these two finally join us, and have come up with these two images of them... though I do not know of which to favour! (Perchance thouest might say?)
We just had a big annual dance performance at our Center for the Arts here, from which I captured many nice photos. Here are some dancers at rest or in action... (click pic to view)
A Momma deer visits me often, giving birth each Spring. Here's this year's fawn, already a month and a half old, and much bigger than when I saw it the first time. She's pretty tolerant of me, and as long as I rock back and forth, I'm taken as a plant in the breeze. They walked right up within a yard of me this morning as I took pics (an hour and a half ago), wanting to share them for you to love too. :^)
Wonderful photos Tommy! A truly magical soul you are, that the animals feel it too to come so close. (You're not a decendant of Snow White are you!?! ;)
Hey Dr Doolittle! you do have the gift, and lucky you to have all this beauty on your doorstep....thanks for sharing!

ps. The Prince too was a gifted man, his garden was magical and I know his time was limited due to family commitments but thats what made him even more special, he made time for everyone.

I appreciate it! And sometimes, you just really need to blow off a little steam.
And today was much better, I stayed home, ran three of my magic necklaces to the post office, came home, got out in my garden and made myself a SUPER herb-infused dinner! (Do herbs count as leafy greens?)
thanks for sharing your pics, yes some of the people at the class were doing hoop, i just have never been all that talented when it comes to hula hooping, so i don't think i would like it, who knows though :-)
