It's All Hallow's and I woke up this morning when the daylight was still young and the color of a bruise. After only five or so hours of sleep, a nightmare woke me. That's an appropriate way to begin Halloween, is it not? Since I'm all nerve-triggered from the dream, I thought I'd wander over to Enchanted Folk and continue constructing my site by adding some information to my profile and by making the first entry to this blog.
I joined this community through hearing about it in Faerie Magazine. Recently, I find that discovering new communities full of people who may share some of my interests keeps my cynicism and bitterness about humanity in check and sometimes even vaporizes it entirely.
For your informative pleasure, I click the 'add friend' button if I find you interesting or think we may have something in common. I will not take it personally if you don't friend me back, or if at sometime in the future, you defriend me. I'm famous for pruning my friends' lists. It's never out of dislike, but usually, because I want to hone down my list to those I interact with at least semi-frequently.
Disclaimer:
I am fond of things witchy and fae. This means I like mischief, earthly pleasures, nature, beauty (both menacing and innocent), and I like to explore my dark side as well as the childlike parts of my essence. My blogs will not be censored, so you can turn back right now if you are homophobic, racist, sexist, or otherwise blatantly judgmental.
Here is a little bit about me. I just turned twenty-four, have absolutely no direction in life, and find great rapture in simple pleasures. In school I was called 'gifted', and now I am called ambitionless. I do not think 'ambitionless' is a title to be ashamed of. Ambition is all well and good for some, but it can also lead to malicious behavior; stepping on others so that oneself may rise.
My hair falls to the small of my back. I am neither thick nor thin. My eyes are a common-but-kind chocolate brown. My favorite colors in order of preference are: red, purple, and dark turquoise. My favorite number is 8.
My hometown is a little island on the California coast. My heritage is Spanish and Roman. My heart lies on the southern coast of Spain.
I am a Browncoat to the hilt, smell divine care of www.blackphoenixalchemylab.com, and struggle daily to discover where I am on Spirituality, Academics, Culture, and the Human Condition. All those capital letters are intentional.
Welcome to my little corner.

What a wonderful blog, Carmelonia, and such a gorgeous Autumn picture. Thank you for finding us in Faerie Magazine and joining EF, it's great to have your energy here, especially that of a revered Browncoat... I really hope that this special community does keep the magical side of your life more alive, that is one of the reasons why it was set up in the first place. Keep your eyes as wide open and awake as they are now - if it's of any use, I too am still out on how I stand on certain things and my darling grandmother's favourite expression (at the wonderful age of one hundred) was, "Wait and see."
BeRemember - You are a leaf on the wind...
