Hello Everyone!
I have broken out of my ACEO fixation for a little bit, and have a lovely acrylic larger painting to share as well as two ACEOs:

WATCHER IN THE MEADOW
8x10” Acrylic on unstretched canvas.
A beautiful tabby fairy cat sits watching the fireflies flit about in a glowing green meadow.

ACEO- A DASHING TOMCAT
2.5x3.5” Watercolor & ink on 140lb hot press watercolor paper.
This rather handsome tabby tom is all dressed for the masquerade ball, with mask in hand.

ACEO- CLOUD FOREST
2.5x3.5” Watercolor on 140lb hot press watercolor paper.
A young maiden in Georgian finery wanders dreamily through a forest made of clouds.
Thanks for looking, I hope you enjoy them!

Whew, it's been a busy day. I decided I'd try my hand at writing my self a sort schedule guideline for my day. If left to my own devices, chaos reigns! Buckets of time just disappear -- so I think maybe having some sort of self-imposed container could help me stay on track. We'll see how this goes. I'm such a muddle-headed muddle head!!
Mmmmm, I can smell dinner in the oven. Soon I think I will make some grilled onions and bell peppers to go with it. It's making me hungry just thinking about it.
Oh yeah, I hope everyone's Christmas went well!!! Our was mostly good up at the grandparents' house (much like Thanksgiving), but again had the customary Keys family holiday fighting. Yeeehaw. Luckily we were able to pray together as a family and ask forgiveness and leave friendly at the end of the day. And, we started a new tradition: we went around the room and each read the story of Jesus's birth from the gospels, and whatever else we wanted from the gospels. It was really neat -- totally doing that again. I think we should do more of that sort of thing together, maybe there would be less spats.
Anyway! I got a My Little Pony :)... Strawberry Surprise, and she smells like strawberries. The smell reminds me very much of the Strawberry Shortcake dolls I had when I was a kid. I also got a most beautiful charcoal gray, double breasted wool coat! I didn't have a winter coat, and this one is lovely. I feel like an English Regency era girl in it. I am getting some other clothing necessaries soon as well, as I've been dressing like a total ragamuffin this winter so far. I really must do some sewing!!!!
Giving myself a break though from all the crochet madness -- most of the presents I gave this year were made of yarn. They were well-liked, thankfully. :)
Oh yeah -- and we watched "Stardust" last night. I LOVED it!!

Climbing Cherries
Tuesday, December 18, 2007, 06:18 PM CST [General]
Hi Everyone!
I have a glowingly colorful new kitty fairy to show you:

ACEO- CLIMBING CHERRIES
2.5x3.5” Watercolor on 140lb hot press watercolor paper.
A feisty little tabby fairy cat is climbing atop bunches of glowing red cherries, not at all worried that she might fall.
And, I have some new prints up on my website! As some of you now know, I have decided to close the Ebay print store in favor of sanity :) and focusing my creative energies more effectively -- so I am concentrating my prints and Buy-It-Now originals on my website instead. I will now be updating new prints there quite often; there are a huge amount of new prints there now, including all of the kitties. See them HERE! And, of course I will continue to have auctions for originals on Ebay as before! If you win an Ebay auction of mine and also wanted to buy prints with combined shipping, just let me know. I'll be happy to accomodate. :)
Now, on to the very latest prints:
DAINTY MISS 5X7 & ACEO PRINTS
PALE BEAUTY 5X7 & ACEO PRINTS
SOFT 5X7 & ACEO PRINTS
Thanks so much for looking!
**********
Sorry for the repeat of the website update for those who have read it before :).... had to make an "official" announcement.
So! I've been mostly painting today and naught else. I'm doing the next couple of installments in the new Field Mouse Orchestra series. Oh yes, and remember my art tantrum a few days ago? I think I'm getting the hang of one of the techniques that was giving me so much trouble then. In "Climbing Cherries", no less -- I was trying to learn underpainting so that colors glow more. I really like how those cherries turned out!! And the leaves! Maybe if I tackle one thing at a time I can get them down better. I also wanted to do more with light/shadow, but all in due time I guess.
On LibriVox.org I've been listening to Five Little Peppers and How They Grew by Margaret Sidney. I have always loved that book. My grandma has it at her house and I've read it a couple of times whilst staying there. It's so sweet. I love stories of simpler times like that. Maybe one of these days I'll volunteer to record a book or part of one at LibriVox... I'm not sure how grand my reading voice would be ;) but it sounds like fun. And some recordings are even made into audio dramas, especially the plays. Can I tell you all how much I've always thought it would be splendid to be a voice actor!! Except I'd probably be more on the ridiculous side, as I like to make funny voices. My brother Trav is even better at it than I am. We have numerous amounts of our own little homemade "radio dramas" to prove it, haha. I'm sure I've said this before.
I want to make cookies, but there is no shortening. Blah.

My love of classical music has inspired a new series! Here is a violinist from the Field Mouse Orchestra, the finest orchestra of the whole meadow.

ACEO- FIELD MOUSE ORCHESTRA: VIOLA
2.5x3.5” Watercolor on 140lb hot press watercolor paper.
Another mouse from my new classical music-inspired series! Here is a violist from the Field Mouse Orchestra, the finest orchestra of the whole meadow.

ACEO- A PRETTY BY THE POND
2.5x3.5” Watercolor on 140lb hot press watercolor paper.
A pretty, fluffy gray fairy cat is out for an evening walk in the bright moonlight. The moon is casting many interesting shadows upon the rock beneath her feet.
Thanks for looking, I hope you enjoy them!

So my little mouse sketch from the other day turned into a bigger project. :) And, I managed to salvage one of yesterday's horrible art cards! (That would be the cat). Maybe I'll be brave enough to salvage the other two. Well, must go as I have to track down my little brother and it's getting dark outside!

I continue to be so delighted with and impressed by your style. I love the apparent layers of colors... if you ever wish to write up anything about your technique, I'd be delighted to read it! Kir |
Kitties and...

Hello Everyone!
I have new ACEOs to show you! More kitties, and a fairy has sparked my muse again...

ACEO- DAINTY MISS
2.5x3.5” Watercolor and ink on 140lb hot press watercolor paper.
This beautiful little fairy in a crown braid stops to smell the flowers.

ACEO- PALE BEAUTY
2.5x3.5” Watercolor on 140lb hot press watercolor paper.
A powdery white fairy cat is walking across a pile of stones, surrounded by lovely blue flowers.

ACEO- SOFT
2.5x3.5” Watercolor on 140lb hot press watercolor paper.
This little tabby fairy cat has very soft fur. She is surrounded by soft leaves touched by mauves and greens.
Thanks so much for looking!

See, told you I painted a fairy. ;) It's cold today! I walked to the post office in the cold, but I was hot by the time I got there. Now that I'm at home again, I'm freezing. I might move the laptop out to the living room to do the rest of my work today, since I can use the little space heater. I don't like turning on the main heat because it will heat the whole house and it's gas and thus expensive!!
I'm so dangerously low on watercolor paper I may be resorting to acrylics soon. How do you like that, "resorting to acrylics", haha. But seriously. It's a pity, since I really want to experiment with some stuff right now and I lack extra paper for it. :P
Happiness is a Dagoba mint & rosemary dark chocolate bar.
