    A belated update

    Wednesday, December 5, 2007, 05:04 PM [General]

I've been dreadfully tardy in posting these two kitties, but they are still on auction here:

SHADOW ON THE PROWL - ACEO

    SIAMESE THOUGHTS - ACEO

    Sorry for my delay!!

I'm in the middle of a very large website update.  It's rather overwhelming.  I ended up closing the Ebay store in favor of focusing print sales on my website instead, so of course that means getting the website in tip top shape.  We'll see how this goes, and if it would be worth it to reopen the ebay store perhaps we shall.  :)  I still of course run regular auctions.
Lo and behold, I actually painted a little fairy yesterday.  Very Cicely Mary, hee hee.  She's pretty cute.
This little mouse showed up in my sketchbook, and she is so cute I must post her:

That's all for now!  My cat is biting my elbow!

I really have a lot of web-oriented work to do today. I think I'm going to try and learn Mals E-Commerce (or something similar??) for my website, to spruce up the shopping cart system.  It looks horribly difficult, but if others can do it why not I!  I am almost settled on the idea of moving my prints off of Ebay and keeping them just on my website.  We will see.  I definitely still want to do auctions, but I need to strengthen other areas of my business too.  The prints have been on hiatus for awhile anyway from depleted reserves so this seems like a good time to do it.
I found a most wonderful thing:  www.librivox.org.  They are books in the public domain, read aloud by volunteers!  So rather like books on tape, but free and sometimes they aren't read entirely by the same person.  I just "read" Jane Austen's Northanger Abbey this way and it was utterly enjoyable.  Especially when the English gents would read.  ;)
Off I go to do lots of work.

"A Naughty Elf" and "Snowy Winter"

    Monday, November 19, 2007, 09:23 PM [General]

    Hello Everyone,

I have more kitties to share!  These are both Christmas/winter themed:

    ACEO- A NAUGHTY ELF

2.5x3.5” Watercolor on 140lb hot press watercolor paper.

A very naughty (but super cute!) calico cat fairy peers out with one eye during her nap, after having knocked all of the Christmas ornaments off of the tree.

    ACEO- SNOWY WINTER

2.5x3.5” Watercolor on 140lb hot press watercolor paper.

A tuxedo fairy cat takes refuge beneath some branches full of red berries as the snow falls down.

    Thanks for looking!

    ***********

I had a very nice walk today, pretty fall leaves all over!  I also got chased by a dog, but he didn't really do anything besides that.  Silly dog!  I really ought to get myself out for walks more often -- at least walks that don't end up at the post office haha.
I did a little bit of doodle painting today, and it was so fun.  I can't wait to do more, I don't know why I hadn't discovered that sooner.  Vastly different from my regular painting, it's all bright colors and abstract shapes and rainbows.  :)  It reminds me of Eugene.

Brrr, it's chilly tonight.  We've rented "Shrek 3" and I don't know what's for supper.  I do want to finish two more kitties tonight though, they are so cute and Christmaslike.  At least winter-like.  :)  Yep, as you may have guessed, I'm really in kitty-mode right now and I do not know if I'll come out of it any time soon.  My cat prints were most definitely the best sellers when I started doing the larger fairy cats, and I just plain enjoy painting them.
And, the big news -- my niece has gone to live with her dad.  I do wish them well.  Hopefully we'll still be able to visit her fairly often, too.  It is really weird around here, though!  It's kind of empty and sad, and I had to leave some stuffed dogs and elephants in the living room so it wasn't so very empty looking.  Usually that whole area has been filled with toys and various things that Araya likes playing with!
So yeah... weirdness and changes and all of those things.  Making me think about my artwork too, and wanting to focus on what I really like -- which right now is cats.

More kitties, yay!  My Kiba cat usually ends up as the model for most of these, I just make them different colors.  ;)  He's always available for a photo shoot!  Of course, I do have tons of pictures of other cats too.
We FINALLY found "Ratatouille" to rent!!  I know, it just came out -- but we've been trying and trying to get it.  It was at the grocery store this evening, and the video lady said it was the first she'd seen it around all day.
Last night Dut and I went over to my mom's house to surprise her.  She was feeling lonesome.  We ate pizza and watched "Meet the Robinsons", which was surprisingly cute.  As you can tell, we are a family that loves cartoons... especially of the Pixar and Dreamworks variety.  :)  My pizza was cheeseless of course, but still really good!  I had some for breakfast today too.
At church today we focused a lot on the persecuted Church across the world.  It just made me realize how very, VERY lucky we are here in the US to have religious freedom and to be able to worship Christ (or anything else, for that matter) as we so choose.  There are so many that are killed, tortured, imprisoned, etc just for believing in something that the predominant culture doesn't.  My problems are pretty small in comparison.  Sigh.  Heavy thoughts.
