    Hi Everyone,
I have two new fairy cat ACEOs on auction!

    ACEO- MY SWEET
2.5x3.5 Watercolor on 140lb hot press paper.
A sweet orange and white fairy cat poses cheerfully in a bed of yellow flowers.

    ACEO- SQUASH CAT
2.5x3.5 Watercolor on 140lb hot press paper.
A tuxedo fairy cat is taking a bath on top of a pile of squash.  The squash came from a photograph I took many years ago that I always wanted to use for something!

    Shadow on a Moonlit Night

    Monday, November 5, 2007, 09:02 PM [General]

    Hi Everyone,
As promised, I am starting to get back into the ACEOs now! I have a pretty new cat fairy on auction here:

ACEO- SHADOW ON A MOONLIT NIGHT
2.5x3.5 Watercolor & colored pencil on 140lb hot press paper.
A tiny, glowing black fairy cat settles in for his starlit vigil on the branches of a winter tree.

    Thanks for looking!

I can't believe I actually finished this today *while* watching the baby. She's ok if I don't sit in a chair, but instead stand on my knees up to the table. Weirdo!! :) It's rather hard on the knees though. She just likes more of me within reach I guess.
Well here's hoping that I can do many more of these in the days to come. I like this painting, so it is encouraging.

    My Heart Grows Faint

    Saturday, October 27, 2007, 11:51 PM [General]

    Hi Everyone,
I have a new fairy painting on auction!

    MY HEART GROWS FAINT
8.5x11" Watercolor on 140lb hot press paper.
A pensive, rather forlorn fairy sits by herself in a bare tree in the desert at sunset. This painting was inspired by Psalm 61:2, which goes along with my mood as of late: "From the ends of the earth I call to You, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I."

It's been *that* kind of a week.  I spent most of it with a back spasm that I can't figure out where it came from, but thank goodness it has loosened up now.  I am up to my eyeballs in commissions!!  I desperately need to finish two book illustrations, and get started on another commission besides (and possibly even yet another!).
Baby is off visiting her other family, so this weekend has been kind of a catch up/unwind kind of weekend.  It seems I take a whole day for the unwinding part, wish I had more time.  I know I've been terribly absent here on my journal!  I'm trying -- I just have so little time anymore, trying to cram everything in that needs doing (like PAINT, ahh!).  So, I'm going to stop hitting myself over the head about it and just accept that I'll be posting when I'm posting.  :)  Hope everyone is doing well!

    Random thoughts and WIP

    Thursday, October 11, 2007, 03:17 PM [General]

I'm making cajun beans. :) They're on the stove simmering right now, and I've big plans to also make snickerdoodles! I may even make a double batch, we'll see.... Who made up that crazy name, anyway?
So I've got this WIP to share, because I want to share *something*, heheh:

It's my stray poor old dusty Siamese, Samuel. He's the only cat here who hasn't been painted yet! He seemed to demand a landscape format.
Araya is having a nap marathon, I think she'll wake up any second. Hopefully she won't try to eat my shoelaces while I make cookies later. She has some strange fascination with shoes, and the eating of them. I'm sort of in a domestic mood today. Maybe it's the rainy weather. I have been kind of wanting to make a sort of historical house servant costume (or two) and wearing them all the time -- ha!!
