About Me: Nice to be among other enchanted folk! When you realize you entertain the spirit of faeries on a regular basis, it's nice to know you're not completely alone! *wink* Never really grew up, but live in an adult skin, in Southern CA with my husband and the last of our three kids (still home) + several critter family-members. I make handmade soaps and potions, and I paint watercolor fae, fantasy & witches to earn a living, but these are also, and were first, my hobbies. In a previous time I was a freelance writer and surgical nurse. My online based businesses are: Simply Soap - www.simplysoap.com Wild Oaks Art - www.wildoaksart.com Enchantasies - www.enchantasies.com You're welcome to visit! Let me know you stopped!
Music: I appreciate most genres...but more classic-rock at-heart...think Aerosmith! :) Married to a jazz guitarist & have come to love contemporary jazz....especially his music he's writing. I studied classic piano myself for 15 years and come from a very musical family. My iPod is loaded with LOTS of movie soundtracks, rock, pop, classical, faerie music, everything from Billie Holiday to Pat Metheny.
Movies: LOTR-all-time fav...especially "The Making Of...". Somewhere In Time, Tristan & Isolde, First Knight, Hidalgo, Practical Magic, The Thorn Birds, Big Fish, How To Make An American Quilt, Half Light, Mary Poppins, Cast Away, Big, Forrest Gump, What's Eating Gilbert Grape, Mystic Pizza, Cavalia DVD, Best of Saturday Night Live DVD's, way too many to list, really....
TV: Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, news (I like to be educated about the politicians I despise--hehe), movies, House, "24", Survivor.
Books: Amazon junkie. It's how I over-spend my allowance. I usually have 2-3 books going at once.
Likes: Doing most anything with my family, my 2 Golden Retrievers & other pets, art, music, horses, gardening (mud between my toes!), forests, the ocean, moon-watching, night in general, sunrise and gloaming are favorite times of day, long hot baths, cuddling in bed with a good book and all my pets piled aboard keeping me warm, sports, movies, antiques, reading, bookstores--especially old resale bookstores and how they smell, studying home remedies and natural magic and herbology, photography, collecting wooden treasure boxes & shawls, pumpkin patches, HALLOWEEN, dressing-up, witchy endeavors, exploring haunted & magical places, old houses, castles, or establishments with unusual history (I feel like a throw-back to old times, like I belong in a different era), my favorite place on Earth thus far-Lake Tahoe. I used to travel a lot, would like to travel more.
Dislikes: - Manipulative, arrogant people. - People who parasite or yes-man onto manipulative, arrogant people. - Acting unaccountable for one's actions & words. - Self-appointed *experts* or unasked-for advice-givers. - Individuals who rely on their looks rather than their character. - Cruelty to children, the elderly, animals, witches. - Hot weather. - Traffic. - Crowds. - Elevators. - Lack of sleep. - Public speaking. - Sourkraut. - Restaurants out of ketchup. - Bad manners. - Too many days of rain in a row. - Picking up dog poop. - Feeding our snake his dinner. - Scrubbing off bathtub scum. - My weird neighbor who corners me "to talk" and stares at my chest (fingers itch to poke his eyes out!) - Religion solicitors at my door. - Computer crashes. - And universal evil at large.
Hobbies: - Hangin' with my family. - Creating art. - Soap & natural potion making. - Horses & horseback riding. - Studying shamanic magic in other cultures. - Reading. - Writing. - Hiking. - Photography. - Soccer.
Vices: - Dark Chocolate (preferably 70% cacao) - Southern Comfort (occasionally, not regularly) - Yoplait Whips LIME yogurt. I could fall into and eat an entire vat of it! - Humor (easily enamored by very funny people) - Prone to hysterical laughter--crying, snorting and peeing frequently involved. - I've been accused of being OCD with my house-cleaning, but I think I just like a clean and orderly environment and to take care of the investment of my home. Usually anyone saying that to me is a slob anyway, so who cares what they think! LOL! - Steven Tyler (Aerosmith) I have always been in love with this guy. Husband knows it. To me he represents some wild, untamable thang in all of us and I DIG that about him. Woot! Go Steven!
Virtues: - Extremely fallible, klutzy, but I embrace my human-ness. - Sense of humor. - Highly intuitive in an ESP sort of way that runs in the family--therefore strongly guided by my antennae which rarely fails me. - Compassionate. - Honest. - Positive. - Loyal - once your friend, always your friend....even if temporarily separated by an argument. - Not compelled to follow the herd. - I keep trying to improve, even if I'm not where I want to be yet in any endeavor....willing to say I'm a WIP and enjoy the process. - Child at-heart, I strongly identify with the spirits of children, the elderly, animals, and fae/nature entities.
Heroes: - Anyone is my hero who demonstrates strong morals, does the right thing regardless of what everyone else is doing, whether their actions are *spotlighted*, or despite what is self-serving to their careers or resume. They do "right things" simply because it's right, no strings or kudos attached.

It's our pleasure, Carol - thank you for entering into the enchanted spirit - lovely to meet you too!
We're not so good with Hallowe'en here in the UK, I've always wanted to be in the States at this time of year to experience the celebrations. (As a little girl, I longed to join Linus -my favourite - in the pumpkin patch, waiting for the Great Pumpkin to appear.) When our boys were young, we really entered into the theme and became quite creative... I love making the pumpkin lanterns and so on.
Please share with us your stories if you have time.
