About Me: An invitation from Lisa

As a little girl, I grew up needing to believe.

To believe in more than what I saw in my reality.

As I grew into a woman I found my wings through my work

and realized that I could create any reality I wanted.

So I have. My attraction to the mystical fae and those who love to play,

opened a transformational world for me.

The wings represent to me freedom of spirit,
    or pure authenticity.

Being myself without mask nor fear

and inventing a life from which dreams were made.

So I will continue to create from this realm

and invite you to join in the dance of intent.

Where reality is not defined by what the world shows us,

but rather by what we bring to the world.

    Brightest Blessings,

    Lisa Steinke

Katerina, the Essence of Rose Geranium.

    Hey friends.

I'm so sorry I don't keep up as well on here. Between here, myspace and facebook...mother hood, artist, studio owner.  Sigh, oh yeah, wife. That.

Well, I have a giant carnelian stone that I tried to sleep with. I was told carnelian is good for the 1st and 2nd chakra. It has so much vibrant energy it kept me awake.

Not a good sleeping stone.  Does anyone else sleep with a stone? I used to sleep with hemitite. That was an awesome stone. Then I started losing it.

My friend Erik gave me a Purple Amethyst stone for Christmas. He gave it to me a few days after my surgery. So I slept with it.

It was so soothing and relaxing.

So if anyone considers carnelian, I'm here to tell you it's the wrong kind.

Otherwise, I have been moved to the front of the building. I have the best spot in the artists dens. Two other artists have signed on and hopefully more will come. I'm calling the place "Gypsy Den".  The colors are Red, Purple and Gold. (and alot of colors in that palatte in different hues. It's very 1970's Moulan Rouge. There is Iron work out side one of my windows. I mean alot. It looks quite New Orleans.

Jamie Wood and I have signed our first contract together. We knew we were doing this, but it is official now. She signed in Orange County today and I had signed Friday. I'm very excited. So is she. I still am tripping out since this is my first book deal and I've heard the publishing industry is so tough right now. Wow.

I have seen my first statue with Munro. Not the finished, but the clay version. If any of you know my prints, TRUST is the one. Her name is Mia. It's so neat. Ever since I began to look at faeries I was into Munro. In fact, my first faerie statue I ever owned was by that company.

I'm working on a project with Giovanna Adams. We have our first image done and ready to go. We hope to have a bit of a series for you. They are really turning out beautiful.

Today, I'm designing my Branding for my studio and watching my five year old and her friend. We are currently finishing up on easy bake chocolate chip cookies with frosting. They are so cute when the get along!

Anyway, that is where I've been and what I've been up to. Sorry again for being in communication so sporatically. But I do check in!

    Breaking Through Fear

Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 05:06 PM CST [General]

I had a stressful day yesterday. My husband watched five friends from a vending company get the hatchette and wasn't feeling optomistic.

He had been laid off right after 9-11 and the guy left us with a weeks pay.

    Buh bye.

But we made it through. It definitly left a lasting impression on us. My way of seeing it, is "we had our turn already".

    His way was "We're fu*%&^"

I said "There is ALWAYS a way to make money".  It may not be ideal or what you are completely comfortable in, but having been an entreprenuer and knowing his skills, I simply won't think any other way.

It laid out in front of us, what we had experienced before.

But let me tell you what I've learned recently.

I was afraid. In that fear everyone was impacted. Everyone I knew. I had a tumor in my cheek, but my fear and narcissism ALLOWED that beast to live in my body and use it as a host.

The FEAR created chaos in the world of what if's. A world of illness. Insecurity. Arguements.

Then I cut the damn thing out.

It is gross. It looks like an alien pod! Seriously, I got mad at myself. I thought that if I knew what the hell was in my face I would have taken care of it a long time ago.

And you know what? The psyche of the American people is right there right now.

So here is Obama saying roll up your sleeves. Face the fear. Face it.

    (IRONIC WORDS EH?)

It is ugly, but you have the power to cut it out. On the other side of that is brightness. Choose to have a good year no matter what position you are in.

I know a guy right now who is living in his car. And he is in a pretty good mood.

He hangs around and I hope soon that the co-op has created a job for him somehow.

I met a woman who had just gone blind. She was in a great mood.

I met two boys raising themselves cuz their parents can't deal. I had them paint a cabinet and paid them in candy bars. They were so happy to be painting. (Huck Finn anyone?)

But I got to talk to them and get to know them and you know, I agree with Barack.

We are a powerful people. If we choose to reach for the light.

    I did.

And a friend of mine who has been through more intense surgery than I said, "The way I see it, I got touched by the Universe."

That's what happens when you face fear and choose to over power it and move into the light.

    That's all.

    Lisa,

What a great attitude. I can see that the Goddess of Transformation, Persephone, has already been by to speak with you. I too have had enough of fear and am walking out of the dark and into the light.

    Blessings!

I just had to drop a comment on this blog and to say 'thank you!' from the bottom of my heart. I have recently become unemployed in an area where unemployment has risen *92%* over last year - and I am unable to move to greener pastures. I'm terribly worried and frightened at my prospects, but this blog gives me hope. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for this! My husband works for a Dodge dealership and he thought he was out of danger when Chrysler got the government bailout. Now it's on the news that Chrysler may fail this year. It's all he's ever done and he only has a high school diploma. We're trying not to worry and keep the faith, so this was a confirmation!

I posted again on my blog.

I'm beginning to come down back into some reality and talk a little about the different influences of aroma, color and stone therapy that have been coming into play through this process.

    Last Painting before I go

Wednesday, January 7, 2009, 07:06 PM CST [General]

    Dandelion

She is The Essesnce of Dandelion

    Dandelion Close Up

Dandelion emerged through the paint. I followed no reference. I was very, very focused on my surgery and healing when I worked on this piece. If you notice it seems the bottom part is a fair representation of the inside of a skin cell or hair follicle. ¬¬When she emerged I decided to look up the properties to Dandelion in Jamie's book.

Here is a piece of what it said:

It is a blood tonic, blood cleanser and lymph cleanser. (I'm having my lymph node biopsied while I'm there because it causes me so much pain and headaches.
    The tumor itself is vascular)

From a more "spiritual" aspect here is a piece of the book:

They can teach us a lesson that applies to our shadow selves: if we engage in the act of constantly denying an aspect of ourselves, it will ONLY GROW. THAT WHICH WE RESIST PERSISTS.

That has been my personal battle with this whole thing. There is much more in the book, but this is a very good part of it.

This gives you a clear since of what to look forward too when we are all done!

    Over and OUT!

    (PS>>>Love you guys)

"If we engage in the act of constantly denying an aspect of ourselves, it will ONLY GROW. THAT WHICH WE RESIST PERSISTS."

That is a very insightful and thought-provoking quote.

I checked out your new blog with Jamie (I bookmarked it, too!)...very nice. Your collaboration with her is going to be wonderful.

I wish you the best with the upcoming surgery.

    Love and Hugs,
