    A brief break from our usual poetic program;

People on several of my community accounts have been bothering me endlessly about labels, preferences, social identity, etc.

So, I've caved. If you absolutely HAVE to have a label by which to identify me, this is who I am.

    Pansexuality:
(sometimes referred to as omnisexuality) is a sexual orientation characterized by the potential for aesthetic attraction, romantic love and/or sexual desire for people regardless of their gender identity or biological sex. This includes potential attraction to people who do not fit into the gender binary of male/female implied by bisexual attraction. Pansexuality is sometimes described as the capacity to love a person romantically irrespective of gender. Some pansexuals also assert that gender and sex are meaningless to them. The word pansexual is derived from the Greek prefix
    pan-, meaning "all".

The adjective pansexual may also be applied to organizations or events. In this context, the term usually indicates an openness to the involvement of people of all genders and sexual orientations in said organization/event, not that everyone involved is, or should be, themselves pansexual.

    Romance, attraction and preferences:
The term pansexual generally is used for people who do not classify their sexuality according to a person's sex, but rather their gender. They believe that there is a set difference between sex and gender—gender being the socially constructed condition of being male or female, and sex being the biological condition of male or female.

People who are pansexual may be attracted to various forms of romance, and may be aroused by various acts of sex on a carnal level. Some suggest that pansexuality is more accurately described by its adepts: human- or person-oriented. Despite a pansexual person's fluid sexuality. In some cases someone who is defined as strictly heterosexual can engage in sexual activities with someone of the same sex in which there is a close relationship but with no desire to do so with another of the same sex. It can be an intense sexual experience because it's an isolated relationship formed by a rare friendship that others can never achieve with a separate or combined meaning for each and is shared only with those involved. It is a balance that's added as a separate part to being heterosexual.

    Pansexual sex:
Many people who identify as pansexual may associate with people of all sexual orientations, but are not necessarily interested in sex with people of all sexes or genders. For some people who are pansexual, biological sex is a secondary factor, something that will be discovered if and when sexual interaction takes place.

People who are pansexual usually consider any sexual act acceptable as long as it is consensual, including less mainstream activities like BDSM. However, pansexuals may not necessarily be interested in those activities themselves.

    I am Pansexual.

    Naomi's Song

Wednesday, October 17, 2007, 01:37 PM EST [General]

    In darkness lie alone
Lest thieves and daggers bed as well,
The lights burn too bright at home,
And there's a story yet to tell.

A heart will beat too vividly,
    Much as a fire burns.
And though the pain lasts verily-
For it the heart still yearns.

In shadow walk along with me,
    Before your pulse goes still-
Lest thieves and daggers forward be,
And the wounds turn black and ill.

This story is of a teardrop,
    Falsely drawn and inked.
    Wasted on a Moon-eyed sop-
Who missed it as he blinked.

In shadow does this story lie,
    Inside your pain is burning,
In darkness does this story die-
While from its tears you're learning.

The answer does not lie alone,
    Although the healing does-
    For life goes on, even after the one;
With all its Joys and Woes.

In darkness lie alone my friend,
    And though the healing's slow-
One day the tears will dry and end,
And again your heart will glow.

This story's moral lies in stone-
    Whose likeness you may envy,
But in the end the Pain's outshone,
For the joys in life are plenty.

    Cry if you must,
    In darkness lie alone-
But when the storm is turned to dust,
And the heart's fury is done,

    Know you are Loved.

    Predictable Slumber

Wednesday, October 3, 2007, 11:08 PM EST [General]

In slumbers' gentle arms now do I lay my battered head,
    My face turned away from the day that I had led;
In predictable solitude; indeed alone in my bed,
My only company the sandman and the dreaming he spreads.
As my breathing grows shallow, nigh imperceptable again,
As the light grows dimmer, and night truly begins,
My last thoughts were of you, and the places we'd been.
Only I havnt seen you; you were busy again.
Whatever illnesses take you, whatever whims keep us parted,
I still dreamt of you and the madness we've started.
If interest has faded, and I am alone as it seems,
Then at least I remember your smile; and I still have my dreams.
    Goodnight.
