It's been so long since I've been here, can't believe we're in to April already. So much has changed for me since the year began, including my address and studio - what started off as a very bad experience and life change turned out to be blessing and I now have a beautiful woodland studio. And here are 2 new works that have been completed there!
Dreamseed
I want to dedicate this painting to anyone who has a dream that at times seems unatainable and far out of reach. To remind you that even if you are told to give up that dream, even if life hurts and you feel you can't go on, your dreamseed is still safe in your hands, and with a little belief and nurturing it will grow into a seedling with infinite potential.
Oil on canvas 120cm x 70cm
An Ancient Wisdom
Hope all is well with you all and that Spring is bringing joys and blessings into your lives,
Love the expression in the first one. I was trying to guess what she was thinking, as if she had been left something and was just planning on how to use it. Then I saw your dedication... Terrific!
Dreamseed is wonderful .. sometimes it is hard to hold onto the dreams that seem so elusive at times but Dreamseed encaptures all that and more .. inspiring .. much love to you Lib xx

Where has time gone this year? Can't believe we've just had Halloween night!
The Faeries in the UK are wrapped up in their fake furs and holding their little fingers to the sky, wondering if it'll snow. Soon they'll be drinking mulled wine and nibbling mince pies!
Here are a few paintings I've been working on, lots more in the studio to be getting on with. Hope you're all well, Faery Blessings xxx
....A rose by any other name still hopefully smells as sweet.... As you can see my name has changed, though it actually hasn't...Let me explain!
Ok, my married name is Toni (Antonia) Townsend and this is the name I have been using for my artworks, but I have decided now to revert back to my maiden name for my Art, so from now on I am Toni Cogdell. (and Toni coz that's what everyone calls me )
Don't worry, I'm happily married still! It's just a simple case of me wanting just one name, rather than me separating my old figurative works to my newer fantasy stuff. I started out, years ago, exhibiting under the name Cogdell, and when I became disillusioned with my art and began exploring my Muse more I decided to use my married name to distance myself form my old work. But now I'm really happy with where I am and what I'm doing so I'm hoping to get back into the galleries again and go forward with Ummph!!
So basically, if you see the name Toni Cogdell or Antonia Townsend by my work, don't worry they are both me!!
And also I have just redesigned my website [link] so check it out if you have time. And on some of the pages you will also find some poetry written by Annie Cogdell...my mum! I will be talking about my mum lots more soon as we have some very exciting collaborative projects coming up!
And talking of pictures...Here's a new one! Titled Awakening...
The Falcon flies between worlds, connecting and awakening you to your higher vision, inspiration and truth.
...Staring up at Grandfather sky, Coventina honours Nature's gift of water to purify, cleanse and bless the beginning of a new cycle...The sacred union of Earth and spirit...
Here she is, after months of work and lots of colour and form changes! She started life with dolphins in the sky and water pouring all around her, but the element of Earth crept in and it became more personal and wanted to tell a different story. Coventina is the Goddess who watches over water - rivers, oceans, moving water, and she represents purification, new cycles and beginnings. She has been whispering to me for a while now!
I adore the goddess Coventina and your depiction of her is magnificent! I love the cattails in the background. A nice blend of water and earth energy. :)
Dearest Toni, warmly wishing you many magical birthday blessings my friend, we were thinking of you yesterday and sending happy thoughts your way *beaming smiles* May these beautiful falling leaves of breathtaking colours bring you all your enchanted heart desires... skip high sweet woodland one ~ with love from the mad Montys!
Thank you Toni my lovely, ah, I love your profile pic so much! - you are elf incarnate!
I don't have a proper website yet, currently angsting about getting it together! - the best established page I've got is myspace, please do come and pay me a call there!
True FAE REALITY! I am glad to see an artist try and succeed at a masculine faerie being. I've always imagined Rudolf Nureyev dancing about as the GreenMan.
Dearest Antonia, thank you so much for being part of the EF community, we are blessed indeed to have your gorgeous artwork here to inspire us. Your Rise of Atlantis painting is beautiful and really evocative, so glad you finished it! Drew adores dolphins and one day I would love to be able to offer him an opportunity to swim with them - what special creatures they are, so intelligent and playful and more connected to us than we often give them credit for... I feel that magic every time I see your piece. (Being so close, please don't forget that if you're ever in the Cotswolds you are always welcome to pop in for a cuppa!)
I love your paintings and your words, they really touched me. Blessed be in your blessed new studio.
