    Spirit of the Oak

Saturday, June 6, 2009, 12:47 PM EST [What's NEW in Elysian Fields!]

Nature's beauty! I am really enjoying using gemstones for healing and well being with my leaf spirits lately, and although this could be worn as a pendant, I have transformed this lovely imprint of a Burr Oak, also called Mossycup Oak, as an ornament. Fashion forward fairies or renn folk could do double duty and use this as a focal pendant worthy of a goddess or fairy queen.

Sculpted using a combination of translucent Kato and pearl clay, I've added a layer of antiquing to bring out the detail in the veins and to show depth as well.

The hanger is multiple copper spirals accented with genuine Tiger's eye and a fire polished czech bead. A piece of lovely hand dyed raw silk ribbon finished with quartz leaves adds a lovely finishing touch!

Tiger's Eye is a stone of protection that is also very grounding. It enhances integrity, willpower, practicality and correct use of power. It is a stone that enhances good luck, and brings prosperity, often in the form of money.

Spirals represent the cycles of life and interconnectedness of all things.

Sylvan sprite's will love to add these to their wardrobe this Spring!  A recent foray into the forest produced some gorgeous imprints of Silver Maple leaves from which these luminous earrings were created.

These would make a wonderful gift for someone who loves Nature, Fantasy, or, for faeries and dryads looking to add to their Spring accessories!!
    Namaste!

    Japanese Maple Spirit

Sunday, November 30, 2008, 10:55 AM EST [What's NEW in Elysian Fields!]

Considered by many to be the "flower of autumn", this lovely 2 1/2" Japanese maple leaf has been imprinted onto polymer clay, and once cured I've hand painted the face of the spirit that resides within. Accented with mica powder and a beautiful spiraled copper bail this piece can be hung as an ornament or worn as a focal piece on your favorite necklace.

A beautiful one of a kind creation for someone who loves Nature and Fantasy.

    Fairy Baby Pendant

Friday, November 28, 2008, 11:38 PM EST [What's NEW in Elysian Fields!]

Autumn's ending and here in New England night's are chilly. Baby fairies stay warm by being wrapped in colorful autumn leaves. Like beautiful blankets these babies stay snug and warm while the cool breezes blow.

This little fairy baby has been hand sculpted using polymer clay and is 2 1/4" long total from tip of baby's head to stem. The Maple leaf has been washed with layers of color built up to give depth and softness to the piece. Highlights using Pearl Ex and gold embossing powder complete look.

So dear friends, I've been away and obviously not blogging like I should. Here is a commissioned piece I've just finished of a very large Red Maple leaf spirit. The leaf measures 6" x 7" and is done in the warm, subtle colors of Autumn. Enjoy!
