If you would like some direction, how about completing the latest challenge at enchanted quills?
The current challenge is ...

I found myself in limbo at the end of last year and the beginning of this year with my job. It threw everything in my life into a state of dissarray.
Fortuately things have settled down - I have a new job and heaps more time and energy to put inot things i enjoy - like writing and the Enchanted folk community.
So who is up for a challenge?
How about ... write up to 300 words on the theme 'happiness'.
It could be a character who is finding happiness, a character who is searching for happiness or just a hppy little moment.
I'll start the thread at the forum, post your responses there.
At the end of June I will choose a winner and they get to set the next challenge.
How does that sound.
Well to my embarrassment I just found the forum. My only defence is that I am still learning this new space!
So I'd like to make the challenge a forum thread each month. That way everyone can put up their own work, there is no 'winner' and I can do the challenge too (I couldn't really if I was 'judging')
I'll post the two entries I already have and maybe that will also inspire more entries?
I'll put my entry up as soon as I can (I wasn't expecting to be able to enter, so I have nothing prepared).
I have one entry for the challenge. Is there no one else, or are you all just working hard on penning your best?
It's not as easy to come up with the words as I once thought it was. When I first decided to work hard at becoming a professional writer I thought I could just sit down and rattle anything off. I have learnt so much since then. But I sometimes wonder if the skills I have gained haven't killed off some of the freedom I once felt.
How do you all create a balance between letting the writing flow and elequence?
Now! For the competition please submit your entry to my email
jenni@exemail.com.au
The only prize at this stage is to be published on the group site.
I'll set the deadline as October 7th (a week from today with another weekend thrown in for good measure). you can come up with gold in a week right? Yeah, sure you can!
After all one of my aims in starting this group is to encourage us all to write even more and to improve our skills.
So what are you waiting for?
It's time to write, to read and share.
Having trouble with a plot hole?
Is that character not realistic enough?
Or maybe you just need to knwo youa re on the right track.
I created this group for writers at Enchanted Folk as I was having trouble locating other writers. So please invite your writing friends so that we can unite, share and help one another.
How do you feel about a little comptition to kick things off?
Write a short piece (just 200 wrods) of descriptive passage.
I'll publish the winner at the group's site.
