I heard a man tell a tale yesterday that reminded me of this critical part in manifesting what we want.
He had lost his keys. He lives in a small apt. Him and his wife tore the place up in every way looking for his keys. Finally, he decided to just ask Jesus. So he prayed...leaned over to pick up the phone, and kicked something under the table. It was his keys. So of course he's praising Jesus and telling his friends and all.
But to you I offer this. When I was in psychotelekinesis class (ie. spoonbending) once you focus your energy on the task at hand (bending the spoon), it doesn't work until you let go, distract yourself, and then think of something else. Then suddenly the spoon will bend.
Think of it like baking a cake. You open the oven and put the cake in, but then you stand there holding it with the door open wishing adamantly that the cake will bake. Of course it can't because you haven't let it go and closed the oven door. All the energy is seeping out of the oven. You have to put the cake in, close the door, set the timer and come back later.
This works whether you are a Christian or an atheist. It's one of those universal truths. It doesn't matter if you pray to God, the parking lot fairy or just visualize a parking space. The trick is to focus on what you need and then let go. Go do something else. Go meditate. Go take a bubble bath. Go play Guitar Hero.
Does this always work? No. We aren't meant to have every little thing we want. Does it work more often than not? Yes, for me it does.
My daughter and I spent yesterday at the L.A. County Museum of Art. We specifically went to see the Salvador Dali exhibit which included his Disney movie, film clips from interviews, his work with Hitchcock and Andy Warhol, and many of his painting, drawings, and personal letters.
Dali's symbolism included things like lobsters, ants, eyeballs, boobs, and flaming giraffes. I left feeling a bit quesy, like I'd just stepped away from a science experiment gone wrong. Oh, and of course melting clocks. That melting clock painting is actually quite small...maybe 8 x 10?
Then we went through the 60's and 70's exhibit. There were some great assemblages in there, one of a derelict care with skeletal and wire remains of a couple making out in the back seat. It was banned once in 1966 for being too pornographic.
Then we spent hours wandering through the main art collection. My brain is full to bursting with ideas.
The moon is waxing so now is the time to increase things in your life. Attrack wealth, health, prosperity, sexual partners, and so forth. It is the time to give to others and share your abundance, (even if all you can share is a loaf of home baked bread). Time to pay it forward. And also time to accept the gifts headed your way. The next full moon is the 24th. So make all your investments now. Invest in finances, but also in love, in peace, in forgiveness.
That link will take you right to my profile and photos. I've already made it on the top member list to number 16. It's not like they hand out prizes or anything but it would be nice to be in the top 10.
Yesterday the library logged me off before I could hit send. So today I better be quicker.
At last Sat.'s craft fair I got tons of compliments but only one sale. But it was to raise money for the Anaheim ballet and they comped me two free tickets to the Nutcracker in Dec. so I don't feel too bad. I met other Etsy artists and got to see the Nutcracker characters roaming around the booth. And they had faux snow every hour or so. I took some great photos which I'll share if my computer ever gets out of the shop.
This weekend we have an archery workshop. I'm not sure if it will be Sat. or Sunday because another archery group also has an event scheduled and we have to work around them.
