    Attention Enchanted Folk!

    Hello Everyone,

    Sadly this Blog is not as cheery as my last.......

    It has come to my attention (& others I'm sure) that our beautiful cyber sanctuary has grown enough to attract the attention of scammers.

    Now I don't know if this is a very recent thing, or if I was just lucky enough to not have been contacted by them until recently, but I feel a responsibility & a protectiveness over Enchanted Folk & all the genuine kindred spirits within it, who make it what it is.

    So, this is a warning to all you sympathetic souls, to be on your guard for scammers messages that will pull on your heart strings before they aim for your pockets!!

    I don't wish to imply that any one of you is gullible enough to fall for these scams, but if any of you (like myself) have no or little experience with these things then you are potentionally vulnerable, & in a place like this where so many of us share our trials & tribulations as well as words of support it is possibly easier to fall into a scam 'trap'.

    Please report any messages/members that you find suspicious.

    And on a more positive note, if you recomend EF to a friend, advise them to sign up when they have time to do it properly, with photos & information about themselves, tell them to write a blog introducing themselves & what it is about them that draws them to "live in the magic".

    Yes, I have received a couple of those too on this site.



    Thank you for putting up this warning... I hadn't thought of it because our band gets about 50 e-mails a day just like it through web-email & I assumed everyone did.



    It's the old trick where someone wants to move a great deal of money into your bank account for a sizeable cut & they ask for your bank account number (sometimes they try to pull your heart strings by saying it's a long lost relative that left you money). Of course, this is so that they can get into your account & steal your money. Don't fall for it! Like I said, we get 50 a day!!!



    Anyway, thank you, dear Amanda & thank you for your fairy blessings on this one.

    Amanda, I have been getting those scamming letters for a year or more. It seems when times are hard, some people still want to make a buck off you. I ignore them and trash them. Why someone would email their sad story to a stranger and ask for money I have no idea. Local Churches and communities have programs set up for the very poor and unfortunate, schools will help out families too. Thank You for your loving and warm concern. You are truly a blessed person.
