Went a bit mad with the sparkly stuff!

Monday, March 3, 2008, 03:56 PM GMT [Art and Crafts]

    • This is the card i made my mum for mothers day,i went a bit mad with the sparkly stuff! But she really liked it which is the main thing!I think someone needs to remove sparkly objects from my posession, but i sooo like glitter and sparkle!!I think i need help, therapy perhaps??Maybe i was a magpie in a former life..................

I also bought her Brian Froud's book of Pressed Faerie Letters, the chocolates she loves,a very cute bear and gave her money to buy some more trees for the garden(that is what the little box i made was for)

    I have a great mum :)

For a second I thought I had missed mothers day. Then I googled it and realized the U.K. celebrates mothers day at a different time than the U.S.
Your gifts for your mum are wonderful and the sparkles just enhance everything don't they?
Your art looks perfect on a greeting card, you should be proud.

Wow!! i'm impressed. I just saw this wee blog from the homepage and had to say something :).

You did a great job there, it looks really professional. I think if you aren't doing it already, cards like that could sell. It's amazing, you've got a talent for this:).

I bet your mum loved it :D

just something that came into my head tonight

Tuesday, February 26, 2008, 09:38 PM GMT [Poetry]

Just something that came into my head tonight! Not sure what i think to it but thought i'd share!

    I can never go back

The path I once trod is closed

    The tracks I cannot retrace

    Obliterated by time

    Footprints swept away

I have to walk a different path

I have to leave what is past in the past

    Start anew

Full of hope and wonder I walk a new path

    Follow where it leads

And the beauty here is fresh and new

Beckoned on by hope this path shines!

I've been really low recently and today i came to a sad decision, one i really didn't want to make but one i know i've got to do for my own sanity and health, i said to myself this afternoon that i've got to close a particular door and find a new path, one that will bring happiness instead of lies and sadness... and then i just read this!

I don't know why but i just feel a need to say thank you!

I see the magic in her eyes,
    The hope in her heart...
    The expression of wonder,
    Which radiates from your art.

very good :) there is definitely something about those eyes!

I've seen art by so called professionals that is nowhere near as good as this so keep at it :D (and i'm not joking either)

I did my first drawing after a break of about 15 years recently... erm... i used to be good, i aint anymore and i'm supposed to be designing the next dragon for my site! oh well at least the sculptor will have an idea what i'm after :D

    More Ramblings!!!!

Saturday, December 8, 2007, 12:10 AM GMT [Poetry]

This poem just came to me.beleive it or not i was looking at a sultry Jessica Galbreth painting when this came into my head!It doesn't have a title yet,any suggestions??

    She hid her sultry eyes

    And put away her charms

    A cover on the light

Of self that shone so bright

    Of herself she left

    A shadow of what was

    What once sparkled

    Now hidden in the gloom

    A distant memory

    The echo of herself

Let's hope she finds a guide

    A beacon in the dark

Or else she may fade away

    A whisper on the wind.

This is beautiful. It makes me a little sad, but also it's hopeful.
You say you are not a poet, yet your poetry is as moving and creative as many "professionals" I have encountered.

    Non Faerie related poetry

Wednesday, November 28, 2007, 09:59 PM GMT [Poetry]

I am not a poet although i like poetry. This came into my mind this evening,it is not faerie related but i thought i'd share. My bit of angst!

                            FLICKER

    Flicker
I see it once, and then it's gone
I think I have imagined it
I tell myself it was not there
    Not to look for it

But I should have read the signs
    Portents in the sky
Should have felt the warning in my bones
    The whisper ‘not mine'

    Flicker
In the corner of my mind
    It did not lie
    I chose to be blind

    I cannot win this fight
    I've seen it lost before
    Wanted to deny the truth
But there's no denying what's in your eye
    As they meet not mine

    You share a look
    Not for me
    I feel I am intruding
    I should have seen

    Wishing for a life
    That could not be mine
    I won't live a lie
I will burn bright or not at all

    So I walk away
The candle flame flickers back to life
    Mine blown out
    I leave with no goodbye
It is me that has flickered out
    Out of time
    I am out of time

But you ARE a poet! This is lovely. Like the beautiful lyric of a sad song. Somehow I want to hear it sung. I don't suppose you write music, too?
