new work i've been working on

    Sunday, September 6, 2009, 06:28 AM [General]

been busy doing some mosaics - not made one for years but one of the galleries i have my sculptures in asked if i could do a chicken mosaic -so while i had all my equiptment out i made one of my dog - then thought it might be an idea to make a few examples of popular dogs with the idea of doing commissions for people of their animals - all comments hugely appreciated - not looking for praise here genuinely want honest opinions...they measure 12" x12"

    unbelievable

    Friday, May 29, 2009, 03:28 AM [General]

unbelievable just where does time fly too? last thing i knew i'd got back from camping in cornwall ...now i'm planning where to go in july ...having had two fab weeks in wales in march- whats all that about....it seems that every time i go to sit down on the computer i get distracted by something else.

i've been working none stop since about late september - lots of new galleries wanting my work - unfortunatly all sale or return - but theres more chance of them selling in galleries than stuck in my studio. sadly 3 of the galleries i had work in have had to close recently due to the climate so i have an influx of work. typical though whenever i get an order for work you can guarentee its what i've just sent to a different gallery! Along with my faeries i have been making lots of different animals including- donkeys, sheep, pigs, dogs, cats, ducks etc - i even made some giraffes -they were fun to make.(look on the for sale page on my website to see some exaxmples www.karen-williams.co.uk ) i've also had fun making stained glass faeries & butterflies - & remarkably still have all my fingers!

At the moment i'm making a set of really big faeries - they are huge - about 4 foot tall -just spent 5 hours painting a faerie -many more hours left to go but i thought i'd better take a break as i was going cross eyed

anyway i guess i need to get back to painting....oh ok maybe 5 mins more to catch up to what everyones been up to ............

    budda

    Thursday, July 3, 2008, 06:38 AM [General]

just finished a commission...of a budda something very different to I've made before...i really enjoyed making it , it was so different to what I've made before - thankfully the chap was very pleased with it - so much so that he hasn't put it in his garden but inside because he wants to be able to see it all the time ! - i thought that was a really nice compliment

off to cornwall for a couple of weeks at the weekend ....fingers crossed that the weather improves
