    Gender: Female
    Location: UK

    Religion: Other
About Me: A Media Fae & Angel to my friends
Music: Yes! music heals my soul & uplifts me...some days I LOVE LOUD MUSIC anything from show tunes to new indi bands...somedays I NEED the calm soothing of relaxation vibrations or Classical favs.
Movies: Sadly I was not impresed with the last ep of Harry Potter...and actually didn'y really rate the last 2!...I love to watch magically inpired films like Stardust,The Last Unicorn,Labyrinth which are my favorites...but I also like to watch comedey films becuse laughter is good for the soul...Legally Blonde and The Blues Brothers are in my top 10.. PLUS Musicals are a BIG part of my life and I love most of the classics like 7 Brides For 7 Brothers and Brigadoon BUT I think the 2007 re-make of Hairspray was FANTASTIC and I regularly sing along to the soundtrack :-)
TV: not so much thease days...But I must say I do have a soft spt for the wonderul Glitter Pixie that is the hugely talented Noel Feilding of Mighty Boosh (cult comedy) and I do enjoy the re-makes of Angatha Christies Miss Marple!
Books: Lately I have been listening to audiobooks which I find really are a brill way to unwind at the end of the day and I HIGHLY recommend Sophie Kinesella's "Twenties Girl", I have just finished listening to Nick Hornbys "How To Be Good" which is a good ironic tale of realationships and how we like to give a show of 'how "good" we are just for the show of it...
BUT a BIG recent my fav is '13 Treasures' by Michelle Harrison... ( although its supposed to be a childrens book!)I can't wait for the sequel...but of course I love (..most of...)Terry Pratchett's Discworld books and this year I discovered that Dianna Wyne Jones writes fantastically to weave you into a magical alter-realitity...again the stories are so good I cannot believe the are primarly for children!
Likes: True hearted honest people :-)

I LOVE stars and the sky at night & the sky when it is at it's bluest with all the clouds forming wonderful shapes...
Dislikes: Liars, Cheats, Users & Fake People :-(
Hobbies: Well life is so busy these days not much time for hobbies...but I love going to the Theatre and try to make as much time as I can to read...
Vices: Mmmm...not really I don't think so...but I think this is a question to ask my friends *LOL*

I gave up smoking over 2 years ago YAY to me!!
Virtues: Being kind to people and always there to help them out if they need support...but sadley this often backfires on me
Heroes: Janice Cook & Dianna Dors

Healing wishes to anyone else who is suffering with seasonal flu!

Saturday, October 24, 2009, 03:22 PM EST [General]

Healing wishes to anyone else who is suffering with seasonal flu!

As the nursery rhyme goes ‘rain rain go away come back another day’… I say the same loudly and boldly to the scourge of this time of year which is THE FLU VIRUS!

So many of my friends and acquaintances are down with it right now and we have been unwell (again) this week.

The thing is if people were more considerate to other travellers whilst using public transport or indeed just in shops and supermarkets using a tissue to sneeze into / not wiping bacteria hand on rail’s and door knobs ect...

( YUCK!! But I see it happen all the time!)… Maybe the UK wouldn’t be so struck down every winter.

But saying all of this is akin to closing the stable door after your brood mare has run off down the lane …

So right now I will just wish anyone who is ill to GET WELL SOON and extend my sincerest sympathies to all of you who have been suffering with colds and infections over the last few months.

My top 3 tips are: Drink lots of Pomegranate juice, eat well (little & often) and take to your bed if you feel the need! (…really your body knows best!)

Early Samhain Blessings & Big sneezy hugs to you all xxx

Well what an exhausting and strenuous roller coster the last few weeks has been!

I had no idea of the intricacies of enrolling at college these days until the time came for my daughter to start the round of looking for a suitable college with the right courses!

In my day you just rocked up with a good art portfolio and enthusiasm and it was a done deal (…or maybe I was just lucky?...)

I decide to go to all the interviews with her…which in hindsight may not have been the best thing for my health as I think I got more stressed than she did lol!

Some of the ‘so called ‘tutors were TOTALLY horrible and even tried telling her that GCSE’s are not important these days!! Hmmm talking about fobbing off…

Luckily working in the media I have had to deal with all sorts of people over the years so I (albeit through gritted teeth) smilingly steered my daughter away from those people and did my best showbiz smile when we said “Well maybe we will come back tomorrow?...” (…hee hee we lied)

On the plus we met some lovely wonderful tutors who have ( almost ) restored my faith in the UK teaching system...but I don’t think There will ever be a total return to the fabulous  art & design scene of 8o’s London…though Spitlefields & Brick Lane are on the right track…

So folks wish me luck over the next few weeks as I wave my child goodbye with a lurching stomach hoping she will be ok but worrying she may not be - having already been up early to get her a ‘proper packed’ lunch so she won’t fill up on junk all day!

Plus there will be a GREAT deal of travelling to do for me also as I AM NOT going to let her travel alone at night so it’s me on 'shanks' pony' and’ pathetic peter’ public transport (for those of you who do not live in London I am talking about our rubbish bus and tube service which costs a fortune but delivers a pittance so to speak!)  most nights of the weeks while we dash from one side of London to another…

“Oy Vey so who would be a mother!” as my Jewish friend would say

Love & Blessings to you all

(p.s if I don’t respond to EF messages imediately it’s because I’m bogged down on the Education Bandwagon for a while!)
