    About Me:

    Faerie Wrath

in the faeries' realm, i once did dwell,

for how many moons, i cannot tell,

whilst exiled here, i weave my spell

to help make mother nature well...

in human skin, i am forced to hide,

barred from the life i could once abide,

stripped of magick, and memories denied,

the time has come to turn the tide...

by the blood that courses through my veins,

of faerie vengeance and demonic pain,

when visions flow, nature shall reign,

to the ancient ones, i shall be thy bane.

the difference between a good and bad faerie...

Friday, October 24, 2008, 03:15 PM EST [General]

a couple weeks ago, i was at faecon (but that is a topic for another time)

and one of the people kept bringing up the question...'what is the difference between a good faerie and a bad faerie?'

i heard a number of responses to this, and the best one i heard (though i know i didnt hear all of them)   was the 'intent' is the difference.

while that is a great answer, it doesnt make a difference...

the biggest secret.... there is no difference ;)
there is no seelie or unseelie court.

faeries don't classify each other as good or bad, they arent a category, they simply ARE.

you can have a group of dryads and some of them may be nice and some of them may be absolute bitches.
you can have a group of leshy and some may be cruel and others may be kind.
or any other type.  race, type or category does not determine what an individual being is or chooses to be. you cant say 'well this one faerie was bad, so all of their kind must be bad'. no, it doesnt work that way.

every faerie has the will to be kind or cruel. every faerie has the choice to be helpful or harmful. every faerie can be mischievous and fun or vengeful and murderous. it doesnt matter what type of faerie.. what race.. what you look like or what power you have, bottom line is its the choice made. sometimes its with reason or intent. sometimes its cause/effect (an event might happen and they will react accordingly to it)..sometimes its from emotion. sometimes its just from plain ol boredom. whatever reason, good/bad faeries are one in the same.

I've pondered this my self. Proof I've got way too much free time. Since there is no true answer we just make them what we want them to be. I penned a poem a while ago and it may fit with this very idea. It's called A Grim Fairy Tale. I watch a lot of b movies, told you I have too much free time.

thats the thing though.. there is a true answer. its not about what WE make them out to be, what WE envision them to be.

its about who THEY want to be and what THEY really are.

    a poem and a plug.

Thursday, October 23, 2008, 04:49 PM EST [General]

    Green Lady, Forgotten.
    in secrecy, i live,
    in solitude, i keep,
    hidden in the shadows,
    mystery runs deep.
    i am not the devil,
    i am not a tree,
    e'er tied to nature,
    i shall always be.
    i cannot show you gods,
    nor end your strife,
    tis hard enough to live
    a stolen second life.
a witch, a druid, an elf,
    all pieces of my past,
    though meditation helps,
    the memories never last.
    ever-present, am i,
    yet so easily, forgotten,
cast to the realm of myth,
    from hearts grown so rotten.
    to most, i don't exist,
    in this world, so cold,
    tis the price to pay
for being a creature of olde.

I agree. If you notice the captured fairy seeked revenge just as the evil one did and felt just as justified. And as you earlier said much could be due to circumstances. We are on the same page but I believe there are those who are certainly under a stronger influence thus they can be categorised. The question may have had to do more with the extremes than the gray in the center.
