Current mood:
breezy
Clouds of yellow A sea of floating motion
waves of soft beating wings
First sight I thought my eyes betrayed
a hand to wipe an eye to see
It's there...it's real
surreal this view
Masses of butterflies, from field to flight
A feast of marvel, to fill the sight...the sound
shelved in thought
simply...
another reason to greet life!

Meet Papillion, She's a butterfly fae.
Her head, torso, and arms from the elbow down are entirely handsculpted (no molds used, ever) so there will never be another quite like her again.
Papillion is approx. 8" tall from the top of her head to the tips of her tail. Her body is a wrapped wire armature which allows her to be very gently posed.
Her "gown" is floral silk. Papillion's wings are created of wire, fabric and glitter (fairy dust :)
Her exquisite face is handpainted with a blush of artist pigments, colors that I mix myself. Her attire is adorned with vintage and antique laces, brocades and ribbon that I've collected over the years and continually search out for my dolls.
Papillion's long lovely hair is created from hand dyed mohair, and applied a plait at a time.
