duh, nah, nah, nahnahnah...oops, I forgot the rest of the song :/
Go me and my faulty, gold fish memory! ANYWAY.
As of about two weeks ago, I've decided that I'm saving up money to make my way up to Eugene Oregon the weekend of August 1st so that I can attend the Faery World festival up there. I'm so excited!! I've been dying to go to a faery festival since, well...since I was made aware of their exsistance when I picked up my first Faerie Magazine. Now, it's finally going to happen!
Well...I do have to get a JOB first so that I can afford to be up there, but the interesting thing about my life is that whenever I really need money, the universe pretty much goes," mk. If you look to your left, you'll see the opportunity you're looking for at this point in time. It'll give you what you need for now, so...ENJOY! :D <3 ". I know I'm going to find a job and be able to go so the next big issue is...what kind of faery costume am I going to make myself? :D
Well, I haven't signed on here in a while. Yikes *cough*.
ANYWAY, just a tiny little update, seeing as I have to go buy shoes for my cousin's wedding >.<..I'm still working on my Faery Book project, but it seems the students at my school have less faith than I thought. I've had some people respond to my request for entries, but I've had a few who think it's more fun to mock me than help me. I had one faculty member actually tell me to " Grow up" because I was being so "immature." Excuse me? How am I immature for believing in magic? If people can have faith in God, why is it so outragous and unacceptable for me to believe in faeries and all things magic? I don't understand some people's logic sometimes, I really don't. Ugh, whatever. The due date for submissions is May 9th, so we'll see if anyone sends in anything last minute.
To those who have already contributed to what I have been trying to do, I thank you. It means a great deal to me that you showed interest in my idea and acted on that interest. <3
Within these last two days I've experienced some kind of an artistic boost for whatever reason. Something kind of clicked into place and it's become easier for me to draw people. I'm really with the pieces I've come out with recently and I've decided to stick with the faery theme as much as humanly possible seeing as I draw things with wings best.
The two sketches I just put up in my gallery today make me especially happy because they are of my two best friends. The first one " The Vampiric Bride of Dero" is of Ashley ( I have her marked as my best friend in the little friends bar on the bottom of my page, and the second one is of Murphey. That's not her real name, but she doesn't like it when people she doesn't know, know her. I made her a troublesome HAT STEALING....*grumble*....pixie. From now on, she has her own hat to wear rather than constantly stealing mine...
I would have said " Erin Go Braugh", but I found a site this morning which said that " Erin Go Braugh" comes from an American misspelling of the gaelic phrase " Erin go Brea" ( Ireland the Beautiful ) or " Erin go Deo" ( Ireland forever). I'm determined to learn gaelic when I am not bogged down by tests, projects, and the like, but for right now...I'll have to be content with my limited knowledge of the language. My whole purpose behind this blog was to wish everyone a HAPPY IRISH PRIDE DAY!!!
And I am such a dork... I just sent my Art History teacher an e-mail telling her how her class helped me to understand something that I've heard for the past 19 years. I now understand what Pierre the parrot ( from The Enchanted Tikki Room in Disneyland ) meant when he said, " Just like the Folie- Bergere with only feathers!" Oooooh, college....
Oh my word, what a wonderfully creative and uplifting past couple days! It all started on Friday when I went in Witches Brew to talk to the owner about consigning my jewelry. She took a look at my website and liked what she saw, but at this current moment she can't consign me because of how many jewelers she already has at the moment. She told me to check back in May, but before I left she kept going back to one set I had made for last St. Patrick's Day and she asked me how much I would charge for the set. I told her and she purchased it from me. I deliver it to her today actually.
I finally cracked down on Saturday and went through every piece of jewelry I've ever made to find which ones I like, which need a little work, and which ones just need to be scrapped all together. I spent a couple hours taking appart necklaces and creating new pieces. Needless to say, I was exhausted by the time I went to bed, which was about 1 am. THEN on Sunday, I spent time photographing some of my newer pieces to post on my deviantart account and made a huge discovery. If I put my photos through iPhoto when I upload them, there is a photo enhancement option, which when used correctly, makes the pictures appear more professional. I put those pictures up on my site and had a good many more hits on my site as well as bookmarks and commets. So my newest project is me going through all of my previously photographed works and seeing which ones I new to retake and enhance...and let me tell you, there are a lot of them. *shudder* It'll be worth it once it's done though.
I'm also looking for other craft faires or ventues to sell at once I purchase a sellers permit. As of right now, I have a table reserved for the Art and Music Festival on W Colfax on April 12. If anyone in Denver is reading this, feel free to stop by and say," Hey! I know you from enchantedfolk!" I love making friends :D My "company" is called Dream Keeper Custom Jewelry.
Hopefully this fair will be a success for me. I have a good feeling about it, so I think I'm going to do fairly well.
Cheers!
