Beautiful article in Faerie Magazine about us!!!

Wednesday, August 13, 2008, 04:07 PM EST [General]

Hello everyone......We are so excited to have our little Fairy Furniture and Fairy House in Faerie Magazine's latest issue, the Summer issue, which just came out; (it's available at Barnes and Noble and Borders Books). We thought that they were going to just do a one page story, but when we got the magazine and found our article, it was 5 pages long!!! We were so thrilled. And it is such a wonderful article......the pictures (which we sent them) looked so nice the way they displayed them. So, we hope you will be able to see the feature story on us......it's really wonderful. There is also information in the article about ordering our new film "The Enchanted Treehouse, Keepers of the Old Tree" and our email address to contact us. Hope to hear from you. Our movie is available now to order; you can order it on our new blog: www.enchantedtreehousemovie.com. Hope you have a wonderful day!!

    Hi Debbie and Mike,

I just got my Summer issue of Faerie Magazine today and I was absolutely mesmerized by your creations. They are wonderful! And then when I logged on here at EF....I found you again!

Your "Enchanted Treehouse" DVD looks really charming, too. I would love to be able to see your work in person, some day!

Wonderful, new DVD "The Enchanted Treehouse" available now!!!

Tuesday, July 29, 2008, 10:44 AM EST [General]

We have been working for nearly a year on our beautiful film called "The Enchanted Treehouse, Keepers of the Old Tree" and it is now nearly finished!!! Our sons are working on the music and the final editing now so the movie will be ready to purchase on August 4th!!! We are so excited!! It has been an interesting and unique experience working on this film, especially because it has been a wonderful family project......as we have worked on it with our sons Michael and Matthew. Matthew is an exciting filmmaker and did all the directing, filming and editing. He also helped with writing the story and did great voices for some of the characters. Michael is a wonderful composer and his beautiful music will be throughout the entire film. So, it has been a truely blessed experience making this film as a family. The story is about a little girl named Sarah who discovers an amazing, beautiful fairy-like house in the forest! She meets the curious and charming characters who live in this magical house and learns the story behind their surprising forest home. There are many wonderful and funny turns in the story and a mysterious ending. The credits even are filled with unusual creativity and humor!! If you are interested in purchasing our film, you can order it through my other blog at: http://beautiful-art.blogspot.com. The movie is $17.95 (with $4.00 shipping). It is over 45 minutes long and is a perfect film for anyone who has a great imagination and is a child at heart!! Hope you'll visit my blog to read more about it and see the photos. Will be adding short video clips of the movie there as well soon. You can also see a "trailer" about the movie on my blog, too!! "The Enchanted Treehouse, Keepers of the Old Tree" is an unusual, exciting and wonderful film that will surprise and delight you and touch your heart as well as amaze you withincredible artistry and beauty!!

Seeking art opportunity in England, Ireland or Scotland

Sunday, July 27, 2008, 06:50 PM EST [General]

Mike and I have always wanted to go to Ireland or England as we have ancestry from those wonderful countries. Mike is half Irish and I have lots of English ancestors. (We love learning about our family history!) We thought we'd put a post here about our love of these countries and how we would love to go there. As artists, it would be a dream come true to be able to go to Ireland, England or Scotland to work as artists......even if just for a month or two!! So, we thought we'd ask if anyone here at Enchanted Folk might be looking for the help of two wonderful artists!! Here's what we could do, although we're open to other ideas, too!
We would especially like to go to one (or all!) of the above countries to build our Fairy Treehouses.......for an organization, for a school, for a charitable group, for a museum or for a city project of some kind. We would gather materials from that country and create a beautiful, one-of-a-kind Fairy Treehouse that would be left there at the location chosen. We would especially love doing this kind of project to raise money to help children or people in dire situations, but even just to beautify and bring joy to others would be an opportunity that would be such a blessing for us!!
We would also love to teach art at a school.......Help run a gallery, shop or museum...... Help with a traveling art exhibit (would also be interested in doing this with our own nature art, of course).......Work in art therapy........Work as assistants to other artists......and I'm sure there are other ideas as well. We love using our talents and creativity to help others and would so love the chance to go to England, Ireland or Scotland to work in the art field in some way.
Please contact us if you have such an opportunity. We would be happy to send you our resumes, references, ideas, etc.

    Hello Debbie & Mike,

How exciting about your movie. Reading that your sons are so woven in with it makes it all the more enjoyable, with my hoping that you live a dream come true all around you.

I wish you too a hopeful tour as perhaps "exchange artists!" I love your daring to dream and not be stuck in a bubble. I feel confident (actually, quite sure!) that the outcome for you will be a terrific story in itself. (Do keep a journal in whose adventures we might be able to share from! ;^)

    Wishing your creativity new blossomings,

    Tommy

Do you maintain a collection of natural materials to use for your house/s? If so, how do you store the items. I have a huge shopping bag of stuff and only plan one small house. What are your favorite materials to use for the furniture et al?

I listen to the trees, too. If one wants to get 'fancy' about it, it's called phyllomancy! Wow! I'm planning to make my lst faerie house, but it won't be anything as stupendous as yours. Stop by my site for a chat, please!
