Have updated the photo albums to include the art i'm working on. There's now photos of the start to the Woodland Nymph i've called 'Kindred Spirits' and a new gothic piece i'm working on at the same time!! My muse doesn't let my sit on my lorels!!
Hello everyone, I've just uploaded 3 new pieces of art. I hope you enjoy them. They will be available to buy from my website www.jenniecooperart.com Please let me know what you think!
Ah, Beautiful and amazing as you always are, dancing on your faerytoes. The candles and lighting effects in "The Goddess" are so wonderfully eye-catching, the Lady communing with Her so confident - knowing that She's always there for her. I love that.
In "Luna Beckoning" those many wings with their graceful tails... Amazing! And I had to see the large version to ponder what that is in her hand... a snow covered sphere, or is it a dwelling-place for a baby faerie?
Then in "Seeds of Tyme" we can witness times flow as the little fluffs blown off by the girl transform into wee little (capped!) faeries. You've gotta blow this one up to full-sized to see and appreciate.
I love Enchanted Folk. Look how wonderful and full of unique creativity you all are! (Me thinks we all feed off each other! ;^)
Took awhile to get there but i've been ill, and am still currently trying to get the other merchandise done so i can list those for sale too. My printer is playing me up which isn't helping! So, to soothe my nerves i'm working on a few new pieces of art. In the gallery pagejenniecooperart.com/#/gallery/4536383648 it shows 'Briar',(see below) a new piece i'm waiting to get into print asap!!

Aruuuuga!! Aruuuuga!
Sorry for the melodramatics but i'm sooooooo excited!! (which at the moment is quite hard seeing as i'm suffering from the seasonal illness - A cold!!)
I'll be attending two, yes count them, two events in October 2010.
First one is the Witches' Market at the start of the month at Glastonbury Town Hall.
Second one is the Avalon Faery Fayre at the end of the month, again, at Glastonbury Town Hall. This one is over two days.
I'll put more info in as i get it, and if you're in the area and feel like popping in to say hi, i'd love it!!
I'll be delighted to hear how you get on with the ink technique :) Have fun! I think of it as a way to make the white paper a more interesting surface to draw on. You probably know this - but it's best to tape the paper down first so that it dries flat :)
Hi again :) I should add, about the ink technique, that as the inks (Daler Rowney FW) are such lovely strong pigments I use only a couple of drops at a time diluting them with water in my palette before splashing, spattering and mottling the paper. I also sometimes use dampened paper for a wet-in-wet effect, or spray the paper with water from a plant mist-sprayer and let the inks run into that surface. Then blow the colours around on the surface with a straw - fun!
Thank you so much for your kind remarks about my work. You asked about my ink technique (owls) - I first mottle the watercolour paper with acrylic inks (Daler Rowney FW Artists Inks) using a limited palette usually of just two or three colours to give a 'blended' effect which helps unify the painting, then when dry I draw onto this with black ink. It's fun making the backgrounds, letting the inks run and blend together :)
Which Derwent pencils do you want?At the moment on Ebay there is a set of 72 artists for £33.00 buy it now with £6.00 postage, item no: 260426270446
You can get some really good bargains on Ebay at times.
Hope your Selkie picture is coming along well :)
Thanks so much for your warm welcome!
I must admit trying to sell my work was one of the scariest things that I have ever done! It was only at a craft fair at my kids school but it did lead to a commission piece. It so hard pitting something up for criticism that you have created, but you should definitely have a go your work is stunning! Zoe x
Always love seeing works in progress. :^)
