I am a writer, artist and sound technician, originally from the South East of England and now living North West in beautiful Cheshire. I live with my wonderful fiance John and we are expecting our first little faerie in November!
I have always been very fey and love faeries, unicorns, mermaids, angels and all things magical. I have always felt 'different' from others - you can read more about this in my Incarnated Elementals group here on EF. I adore the ocean as well as the faerie places of woods, gardens, flowers and so on.
I adore spending time in our lovely big garden, where I am starting to grow culinary and medicinal plants, wildflowers, and a lovely cottage garden out the front. I follow the ways of organic and wildlife gardening, and am learning about biodynamic gardening.
I am a spiritual person who believes in God and angels but I'm also a hedge/kitchen witch with interest in druidry and faerie magic. I am training to become a certified Angel Reader.
I'm a freedom-loving Sagittarian and am very typical of my sign in most respects!
I love writing, in particular fantasy novels, and have almost finished my first (my trouble is I like starting new ones before I finish the others!). I especially love writing about Faerie and write regularly for various websites including Suite101, Associated Content, Squidoo and Helium.
I used to work as a school Library Manager and have written a book called Booked In, about running successful school libraries (I think it is very important to encourage a love of books in young people). I also love writing poetry.
Since joining this site I have also been inspired to explore art & crafts. I paint with acrylics, sculpt with polymer clay and adore papercrafting. I am also learning to sew and knit! This year I created Realm of MerFaery: The Enchanted Art of Louise Heyden and have an official website coming soon!.
I LOVE trees - the first time I truly encountered Faerie was with the tree spirit of a willow. I also adore crystals and the natural world, and enjoy crystal and chakra healing.
I am also completely nutty about Xena Warrior Princess!!!
I'm so pleased to have found this site so that I can 'meet' other like-minded spirits! :o)

Little Freya Fae is growing! She is giggling, smiling and enjoying playing with her toys and books. She is showing a liking for mythical creatures... she loves her Walter Dragon, hurrah!
Here she is in her party dress ready to see her cousins, aunts and uncles at a family gathering!
Not had much time for anything other than my little Faerie, but wanted to check in and say hi! Have started writing again and will be back on here more really soon! Love to you all xxx
John and I welcomed Freya Louise Brooks into the world at 11.35pm on Wednesday 18th November 2009!
I would have posted here sooner but we had a lengthy hospital stay. After a long labour at home in the birthing pool, it was decided that Freya was not going to come out alone, and so off we went in the ambulance to hospital!
Freya was delivered by forceps about an hour and a half later - and no wonder she wasn't coming out - she weighed a healthy 10lb 3oz!
She developed a little infection so we had to stay in hospital for a course of 5 day antibiotics, and arrived home late Tuesday 24th. As you can imagine it has been non-stop ever since!
We are overjoyed with our beautiful Freya, and here are some pics to share with our enchanted friends! Thank you so much to all of you for your kind messages!

Blessed Be everyone!
It is 10 minutes past midnight here and I'm officially 6 days overdue! Despite a long country walk today there is still no sign of Bumplet moving from his/her cosy quarters!
Saw 3 magpies today, 3 times over, which signified a girl but right at the end of our day in lovely Eastham Ferry we saw 4 magpies, signifying a boy, so still none the wiser, hehe! Was hoping that Friday 13th might be my lucky day but no such luck!
I just wanted to say thank you so much to everyone for your kind wishes and support. Thank you so much to Tommy for your sweet post on your page! And to those of you who have since sent me lovely comments and messages. Between here and Facebook my fairy friends have been truly tremendous and I feel very blessed! And of course, thank you to Be and Drew for their love and messages also :o)
I am sitting in the lounge right now listening to the pounding rain outside, I love the feeling of being cosy inside while the rain pours down! Am enjoying the quiet time, grateful for the opportunity to have the time to spend reading the many books I have to catch up on! It has been a while since I have sat down and read a really good fantasy novel and I'm enjoying The Braided Path trilogy immensely at the moment.
Am looking forward to meeting my baby very soon! Can't wait for that magic moment when the midwife announces whether it is a boy or a girl! It is so strange to think that in anything from a matter of hours to days I will have little Freya (Norse, noble lady) or Callum (Celtic, peaceful dove) in my arms! My next appointment (if nothing has happened by then!) will be at the hospital on the 18th, where I will have a scan to make sure baby is doing okay, and if nothing has happened by the 22nd, well, that is it, baby will have to be dynamited out of me in the hospital and the pool will have to resort to being a posh paddling pool! But the midwife was pretty confident that Bub will be here by then so fingers crossed :o)
Love and blessings and thanks to you all! I will post news as soon as I can! xoxoxoxo
