Well, today has not been a good day at all. The week started with me looking forward to our holiday in Cornwall next week, which we are supposed to be going to on Tuesday 7th July. Have so been looking forward to it, not had one in ages, it will be our first (and last!!) proper couple holiday before baby comes along.

Then I got what I thought was a cold. Was relieved to think it would be over by the holiday. But now things not looking so hopeful. Turns out I probably have flu, and because of the measures in place with swine flu at the moment, I have been prescribed immediate antivirals because of being pregnant (i.e. high risk). Without even being seen by a doctor! Only by describing symptoms over the phone to him.

So am now worrying about which is worse, taking drugs that haven't been tested on pregnant women that could harm baby or risk getting sicker and possibly harming baby more. Am wheezing terribly and have awful pains in my left thigh so have taken first dose, reluctantly!

So am lying here dreaming of being well enough to get to Faerystone Cottage in St Ives next week, and the Avalon in Tintagel the week after... magical restorative air for me and baby!

Would appreciate some positive thoughts right now. Sorry to moan, it's not like me. Just feel worried and down at the mo!

Dear Enchanted Friends,

I would like to ask if you would be kind enough to channel your healing thoughts and prayers to our darling Enchanted friend Shayleah, who is in hospital today and possibly over the weekend.

She has asked for healing thoughts to help her through this difficult time and lessen the amount of time she needs to stay in hospital, so that she can return home and return to the special diet she has started which is beginning to help her very much.

Please if you have time send her some love and light! Thank you all so much.

Hello everyone!

Apologies for my absence here of late, have been tired, queasy when within 2 miles of a computer ;oP and generally energy-zapped and apathetic.... why? Because I am delighted to share with my beautiful EF friends that John and I are having a baby! :o))

Yup, I am expecting our very own little faerie, due at the start of November (Excellent month - just like mummy! Except I am a Saggie and baby will be a Scorpio!!)

Thank you Be for giving me the most wonderful name for baby-to-be whilst in "space prawn" stage - Bumplet! :o) Here is Bumplet at 11 weeks 4 days, taken from my first scan on Thursday.

Okay, before I start turning into a baby bore, what else have I been up to? Well, not a lot to be honest, save for sitting around with my feet up, writing a list the length of our road of things for John to do to the house ;oP and reading lots of books (hurrah!). Writing has taken a back burner as the laptop has made me feel queasy, thankfully that has stopped now (delighted to say however that I have had no morning sickness - yay!!) so hoping to get back into my novel, finally!

Sorry I have not checked in for a while, I have been a bit busy juggling writing, crafting, sound engineering and housework! (And the dreaded VAT tomorrow, achk!)

Which brings me to the subject of this blog. One would think that being based at home would mean I have a bit more time than others to get the housework done. Pah! No such luck. More often than not I find myself longing for a magical faerie wand to wash the dishes for me or mop the floor!

As a kitchen witch, it is important to me to balance my work and home life. I am currently trying to establish a routine that will allow me to get everything done - not entirely managed it so far, but getting there! I will ask the faeries for some help in achieving my goals - fingers crossed!
