I shall be participating in this exciting online event tomorrow - and so can you! It's a gathering of artists who will be producing sketches in response to prompts suggested by anyone who'd like to drop by, and then posting them online so everyone can see the results! For all the details, see:
community.livejournal.com/emglivejournal...
Please do consider dropping by to make some suggestions - you don't even need a Live Journal account.
Other artists are welcome to participate - though you do need to sign up in advance.
I'm planning to participate between around 11am and 5pm GMT (8am and 2pm AST), and hope to create at least three sketches during that time. The media used will depend upon the prompts and inspirations I get, but may include pencil, fineliner, gouache, pencil crayons and graphics tablet.
If anyone wants to purchase a picture, please email me at art@katyjones.co.uk . A $10 Paypal payment will get you a 300 dpi actual size jpg of the sketch which you can print yourself (for personal use only - no reselling!). Please also email if you want to make an offer for an original sketch (starting at $12 plus postage from the UK) or if you'd like me to send you an archival print of a sketch ($12 plus postage). You can also make me an offer for turning a particular sketch into a completed piece.

Fantasy Art Event and Faerie and Fantasy Masquerade Ball
The weekend of 28th-29th November is going to be an amazing weekend of fantasy and faerie art, crafts and costumes!
Saturday 28th November:
*Children's events including Goblin Masks and Faerie Wings workshops and magical tales woven by a faerie harpist!
*The Masquerade Ball, 7.30pm - 11.30pm at the Flavel in Dartmouth. Breathtaking music, costumes and dance performances from the likes of Daughters of Elvin and Elfic the Jester.
Sunday 29th November:
Many eminent fantasy artists will be exhibiting their work at the Flavel from 10.30am-5.30pm, including the awesome Brian and Wendy Froud, Linda Ravenscroft, Josephine Wall and Wendy Andrew.
I will also be there, exhibiting original art and selling prints, pyrography and a range of merchandise. I'll be bringing a fantasy portrait to work on live at the event and taking commissions for unique painted and pencil fantasy portraits, using photos we can take on the spot or the customers' own photos. Let me portray you elven-eared or faerie-winged, riding a dragon or dancing in an enchanted grove! There will be special prices for certain sizes and styles of fantasy portrait if you order on the day.
As if all that wasn't enough, there will also be a wide range of demos and discussions, including live art, book signings, tutorials, antler carving, a talk on translating British faerietales into the medium of film, face painting and faerie and goblin themed children's workshops!
I hope that lots of Enchanted Folk will be able to make it for what promises to be a magical and memorable weekend! There is loads more information on the events and exhibitors, as well as costume ideas and much more on the following website: www.laughingmagpie.co.uk

The calendars are A4 size and printed on 150gsm gloss paper with a sturdy 305gsm recycled greyboard backing. There's plenty of room to add birthdays and other engagements.

The Postcard Show
