I wanted something nice to add here. So I'm going to add a Friendship poem I wrote which includes my closest friends. I finally gave in and got firefox for my browser. It does work much better. :) Enjoy the poem My friends were proud of it.
Reflections at the Seashore
She looks out at the waves her eyes follow them. She is in deep thought. Tossing her Black hair over her shoulder she runs to play in the waves; her bikini barely hanging on. Even though it is covering all the necessities. Then after briefly playing in the waves she runs back to her Corona and her beach towel. Getting a tan isn't a choice it is a mandatory thing. She relaxes on her chair. As she looks over at another woman who is equally enjoying nature in her own way. (Jessica)
Breathing in the salty air she digs her toes into the sand. Basking in the coolness of the breeze. Her soul feels refreshed and she wonders why she doesn't visit here more often. Feeling better than what she has in a long time. She realizes that she must make time for herself more often. Humming a B-52's song in her head. She joins the others walking down the beach. (Jennifer)
Looking at the Ocean, she can't remember when she was here last. Listening to the lull of the waves, she thinks maybe she should rent a surfboard and ride them. After all she is all-woman she can do it. Grinning to herself she picks up a tock looks at it then throws it back into the Ocean. Then frowning she realizes she didn't bring a swimsuit. (Janie)
Walking along the beach she stops to pull out her compact mirror. Looking at her reflection she thinks. Maybe I should have fixed my hair differently. Does this lipstick look ok? Moving her hair this way and that she finally finds it how she likes it. Changes her lipstick, then closes the mirror. Hmmm maybe she would buy herself soem new sunglasses later. Missing her husband and child but enjoying the atmosphere. She plops herself down next to the other girl that hasa Corona and proceeds to get a tan evenly. (Angie)
Looking at the horizon she wonders about the deep mysteries of life. Also if everything in her career would turn out the way she always wanted it. Smiling to herself she feels content with how her career has been so far. How far she's come. Then her thoughts turn to her future, will she have the courage and will to find out what she's always wanted? Her true self. The strong woman that doesn't need so many opinions to survive. She smiles yes it is her destiny. She continues to walk beside the ohters and joins the conversation. (Nancy)
Frowning at her White legs she wishes she had time to hit the tanning salon. She smoothes on some tanning lotion in hopes of becoming a darker shade of White. Walking along peacefully with the others chatting and smiling. She can't rmember how long it had been since she had so many females around her and surprisingly they seemed to like her. So many times she had been hated forher body and beauty though her body wasn't the same as it used to be she still believed she looked decent. The great thing was these women seemed nice. She enjoyed the fact that she didn't even want to pull not one hair from any of their heads. Hmmm, she thought to herself some women are okay after all. She picked up a shell to take home with her and made a joke to the other women who laughed in response. looking over at the hostess of this trip she smiles and the other woman smiles back. (Crystal)
Walking in the sun she relishes the warmth. In shorts and a t-shirt, the sun almost never feltso good. Relaxed shewatches the waves. Thinking of her husband who told her to have a good time. She went back to her beach towel and cool drink to read the latest Zombie book. What the hell, one chapter wouldn't hurt. (Claudia)
Sitting shyly on her beach towel she looks over at the other women, years her senior. They are lovely and not shy like her. Fighting a big sigh and beushing the sand off of her butt. She reminds herself she's here to have fun. She goes to wade in the Ocean. Enjoying the feel of the wind in her face and the waves crashing against her feet. Watching it foam on the shore she's grateful she came along. (Magdella)
Listening to her I-Pod she's grooving in her chair. Watching the other women, tan, read and swim in the Ocean. Thankful she can be here. It's been years since she's been to the beach. Her cousins friends seemed like nice company. Ya, she felt special to be included. Remembering she brought her camera. She grabs it and begins snapping pictures. As the warm sun browns her skin and the salty breeze blows her hair around. (Regina)
Walking on the warm sand it feels so good on her toes. She buries her feet in the sand and revels in the pleasure. Then stops and frowns a little. Without her hyper children hanging on her. She wasn't too sure how to relax. No! She was always at home needing "Me" time. It was her turn now she was going to take it and enjoy it. Inspired she rushed back to her bag to get a pen and paper to write with. (Billi)
As I talk about how I love rocks and how I can never take home enough, everyone laughs. I feel content and special to be blessed with so many strong and beautiful women by my side. Not just friends to me but family. some are in blood but are also in bonding. Some aren't of blood but are blood in my heart. I was never given a blood sister but sisters of the soul can be just as close. Looking out at the waves breathing in the air. I am filled with love. Hurt by many females but loved and defended by others. Being a strong woman I know I can make it through life. With these women by my side I know my life will be graced and I will feel powerful to get through whatever may come my way. May these bonds never be broken. After all who do we have as females if not each other? The sun is setting now. The Oranges and bright colors painting the sky. I know I will always cherish this moment. (Natalie)
