6 NEW ORIGINAL PAINTINGS -- Big Eye Girls with CANDY!!
Good morning! I stayed up all night working projects, so I thought I'd start with an early morning post!
I have 6 NEW ORIGINAL PAINTINGS listed on eBay! They are all candy-themed! 5 of them are painted directly on decorative wood pieces while the sixth is painted on a gallery wrapped canvas. All are ready to hang! I have a LOVE LOVE LOVE relationship with candy! I could eat it all of the time, but if I did that, I would HATE HATE HATE myself! LOL So I decided to paint some candy-themed paintings that show how I feel about it ranging from a sweet angel with a treat to a candy corn that likes to eat people! Ha ha!

Max's Dandelion Daydream & New ACEOs!!
Here is a new commission I just completed for a wonderful person, MaryAnne! I really thank her for sharing her love of her iguana Max (who is no longer with us) and continuing to educate people about iguanas in general! In his honor, I want everyone to meet Max, the skelly iguana! He has such a beautiful light!
"Max's Dandelion Daydream" -- 8"x10 Acrylic on Canvas
Meet Max! He is a skelly iguana that quite frankly doesn't know he's an iguana! He is family! Here he is after finding a patch of his favorite flowers -- dandelions! He is always up for a good cuddle and has a smile for everyone. Have you hugged your iguana today?

I also threw in a few ACEOs! They end this Sunday night:)

Article: Daruma Doll Daydream
Author: Misty Benson
ISSUE: Vol. 4 Winter 2009
I am sooooo excited to announce my new column for Faezine.com called "Morbidly Adorable Mementos"! Faezine is Enchanted Folk's FREE online community magazine. There is a whole wealth of articles on Faezine talking about all sorts of fantastical subjects! It has been going for a year! Woohoo! To read the articles, you will need to create a username and a password to access to the full article. It's totally FREE to do! Just sign in, and start swimming through the fairy dust!
I am truly honored to have been invited to write a quarterly column for this great community! I love moving words around as much as I love moving paint around! So I am grateful for the opportunity to explore my ideas in words as well:) This month, check out my article about Daruma Dolls! What else?! LOL I thought I'd round out all of my daruma doll art with an essay that takes a little more care in elaborating on what they are, what they mean to me, and why they will make me immortal! MWAHAAAHAAHAA HA HA! I also included a photograph of my own daruma dolls in the article, so check them out!

Dear Misty, |
Tarot Tuesday - THE PRIESTESS, Temeperance Sneak Peak, & Mardi Gras ACEOS
Here is the "Priestess" from The Morbidly Adorable Tarot! I finally had a chance to get her uploaded and all of that. She was the last of the cards from 2009! From here on out, the cards will all reflect 2010:)
THE PRIESTESS - from the Morbidly Adorable Tarot

Meet the Faery Priestess of Skullcoco. She has Rococo sensibilities with a skull flair. Dressed lavishly in her silvery garb, she perches on her pomegranate-colored couch divining the mysteries. The pomegranate color is a reminder of the fruit that allowed Persephone of Greek mythology to travel between two worlds -- the living and the dead, earth and the underworld. The Priestess sits between her two cats that represent the two pillars in tarot -- light and dark, life and afterlife. Cats are creatures generally associated with magic and mystery. The skelly cat sits atop the Priestess' book of knowledge while the crescent moon next to the black cat illuminates the mysteries. The Priestess' trance-like gaze is searching for knowledge as she decides how much and what she will reveal to the querent.

WORK IN PROGRESS - Sneak Preview of Temperance --
I know, Temperance always seems like she should be this beautiful angel of understanding, but that is not my style (at least not today!) I thought for a card that represents balance, harmony, and compromise, siamese twins are the best representation of that. If anyone has to get along, siamese twins would!

I also threw in some Mardi Gras-themed ACEOs with the current batch of Valentine ones!

That's the news from here! Happy Imbolc and Happy Groundhog's Day! SPOLIER ALERT: It looks like it's going to be a short winter! (Sorry if that spoiled it for anyone! I hope I didn't ruin it for anyone that had to record it so they could watch it later! LOL) I did watch Groundhog's Day with Bill Murray over the weekend! I LOVE that show:)
XOXO!!
