    Gifts from the Glen

    Saturday, November 21, 2009, 12:39 AM [General]

Ho, ho, ho! Falalalala! The chestnuts are roasting! 'Tis the Season! And the faeries would like to offer some helpful ideas for your holiday shopping needs.

How about sharing some unique gifts that will keep on giving, and support Indie artists at the same time?

Try pairing an Autumn's Ember Faerie Coin Purse with the first novel in The Gardella Vampire Chronicles, "The Rest Falls Away" by author Colleen Gleason. It is "Sophisticated, sexy, surprising!" Add a smoldering red lip gloss and create some sparks of your own! www.colleengleason.com

Or maybe celebrate the Gypsy Celtic Cabaret sound of The Gypsy Nomads by tucking a "Thread & Stone" CD into a Nocturne Faerie Hipster Bag, along with a soothing, organic hand cream for a little extra pampering. www.thegypsynomads.com

Fill a Glorious Faerie Makeup Bag with "The Moon and the Fire Circle," the haunting passionate piano and ethereal vocals of Shauna Burns. Add a shimmering blush and a few makeup brushes to complete the package and radiate your own holiday glow. www.shaunaburns.com

Give "Ancient Shadows, The Ghost and the Fairy" by the ethereal gothic singer/songwriter Priscilla Hernandez tucked inside a Midnight Mischief Faerie Hipster Bag. Add a dark sparkling nail polish for a little mischief making fun. www.yidneth.com

Slip the latest enchanting issue of FAE - Faeries and Enchantment Magazine into a Midnight Mischief Petite Bucket Bag, along with the second novel in The Gardella Vampire Chronicles, "Rises The Night" by Colleen Gleason, and still have room for any of the above CD's and a favorite DVD too. www.faemagazine.com

The faeries hope you find these recommendations helpful, but above all, we hope you have a safe, happy, healthy, joyful holiday season filled with love...and a little magic too! Thank you for being such a blessing to us.

    FaerieCon 2009

    Saturday, November 21, 2009, 12:25 AM [General]

Just returned home from the most enchanting weekend ever...FaerieCon 2009! If you have never attended, you really should! Especially now that it's held in Baltimore, Maryland at the Baltimore Marriott Hunt Valley Inn. The new venue is all inclusive, so once you get there and check into your room, it's nothing but on site faerie fun and festivities for the entire weekend! It's a bright, beautiful, warm and welcoming atmosphere...the perfect place to see brilliant artists, musicians and lovely magical folk from all over the world. The Faerie Balls were spectacular, featuring Woodland and Telesma at the Good Faeries Ball and the always delightful Gypsy Nomads, as well as my dear friend and ethereal goddess Priscilla Hernandez and FAUN at the Bad Faeries Ball. I have honestly never experienced anything like it! The vibrational energy for both balls was so strong that the room was actually pulsating! The floors, walls and ceiling were literary throbbing! At one point, I actually had to ask someone if the floor was moving, or if it was just me! Fortunately they pointed out the dancing chandeliers above me and assured me that the room was indeed moving! I was very relieved to discover this, because prior to that confirmation, I thought perhaps I was having some sort of seizure and in need of medical attention! And it wasn't because the bands were overly loud...it was just pure energy radiating from all the enchanted beings and magical music that were swirling together in this space! The likes of which I have never experienced...and can't wait to go back and experience again next year!

Sadly, I didn't take many photos(I was too mesmerized by everything going on around me), but the few photos I did take...especially the ones during the balls...were filled with orbs! Even the photos out in the well lit areas had them! The first photo below contains two. It was pure magic!

In addition to the amazing energy, were all the incredible people! Meeting such lovely fae folk is always my favorite part. There are always far too many to name, but I had the pleasure of meeting the lovely and talented Susan Schroder(thank you for taking the following photo!) as well as my dear, sweet, longtime MySpace friend Priscilla Hernandez and her dear Hector Corcin. She is truly an angelic being of light, and together they are magical. And then there were a few new friends, such as the dashing Lord Mugglestone...

And this delightfully disdainful elf who graciously allowed me to take his photo!

Thank you to everyone who made FaerieCon 2009 such an enchanting and inspiring event. Hope to see you all there next year!
