    Poetry

    Saturday, February 9, 2008, 03:41 AM [General]

I thought I would add a little poetry in my blog, this one I posted In the Witches Vox and at present has had 674 views, and was one of the top poems viewed.

    From Memories Past

Looking out across the ocean, looking out across the sea
Looking for your loved one, that loved one is me.
A ship sails past the harbour and you run down to your door,
like you have done so many times so many times before.
But far across the ocean far across the sea in a place we fort for
    called Gallipoli.

Hundreds of crosses that all look the same,
Hundreds grave stones some without a name.
In one of these do I lie, for in the fields did I die.
I wish you were by my side, to and comforted me as I died

You take my tarnish photo and hold it close to your heart,
you rest back in your easy chair, remembering the day we did depart.
Once again you quietly weep as your soul drifts off to sleep
    For that finial time,

In the light you come to me, I hold in my arms
I feel your spirit is so gentle, peaceful and calm
As I look into your eyes, no more do you cry
I hold you and kiss you I can tell you forever,
    I love you

    Loneliness

Loneliness holds the hurt deep inside
For my horizons dry and wide
Like the drought that holds the land
My life is nothing more than sand

No water here to quench my thirst
Empty mail box kicked and cursed
    Broken fences and broken home
A broken man sit's all alone

    Wallet empty no way out
Too far gone to hear you shout
No friends to hold you close
    Remember what you treasure most

You pray for rain as crows circle in
Watching, waiting for you to take that sin
To take your life and just give in
But your will is far to great
To much love to give to hate

No matter how dry the future  holds
There is someone with a heart of gold
Waiting for someone just like you
To hold you, cuddle you, see you through

Just waiting for the moment to be right
It maybe next week, next month or tonight
Never give up on what life gives
Take a chance and learn to live

    If

    Imagine a time before 'time'...

When the day was not yet divided into hours, minutes and seconds...

When time was shaped by the sun, moon and stars

Imagine what the mind would see, how new every thing would be

How innocent like a new born child to what's shining above glowing free.

Imagine what man and woman would have seen,

Upon this earth when it was so fresh and clean.

And mystery was still abound in every story and childhoods dreams

With faerie folk and unicorns and Dragons tails to tell.

And wise folk could fix your ails and forest moss would grow so well

And in the woods are herbs of every shape and kind

For flowered essences fill the air and clear up the mind.

Some time I think these things are not a dream, but just a forgotten realm

And wars and greed have made us live and die in this forgotten hell

If you feel run down, sad, or just feel negitive

walk in a differant direction, it might  just be the right one to take

    Summer Storms

As the wind screamed through the hollow trees

Tearing at the very fabric of the leaves

And shimmering rain swept the roof's

And barn doors clattered in time with frighten hooves

An old tree fell by the barn side gate

In a strange quirk of fate

It did not harm man nor beast

But shattered an old feed box where rats once live, but now deceased

And in the darkness of the storm

I saw a man standing with cloak all worn

With that a hat that covered his eyes

And something dark by his side

I did what any brave man would do

And joined the dog in hiding too

The door did creek, as that dark figure crept silently in

And from his flash light I could see him grin

He could see me and the dog in our hidey hole

With two bottles of Jim Beam to the bed he did stroll

What a night with Uncle Jack, drinking and laughing

As thunder and rain and lightning did crack

Hello Mic, thank you for joining us here on EF - I fell in love with your beautiful picture as soon as I saw it, what an adorable youngling and such a tender moment. I really appreciate your kind praise of mothers, it gladdened my heart to see what you had written - for me it has been the best job in the world, our wonderful boys have been the greatest learning experience of my life, they have made me who I am today. I am blessed beyond measure and now, as they're in their late teens, I'm yearning for the clock to turn back as I want to do it all again... Loving my children is such a powerful feeling for me and I feel an enormous privilege to have been a part of their lives - I think I may have a challenging time when they leave home! :(
I wish you Happy Thoughts and send you many big Be smiles :)
