I am terribly tired of having this sinus infection and would like for it to go away. Am trying to hang in there and teach all my classes today. Have an important meeting to go to and just want to hide under my desk. Someone bring me a hot toddy?
Working on figuring it all out........
I'm very new here, although not new to the world of faerie and fantasy art! I'm trying to work out all the buttons and whatnot here, so I may have a bit of a learning curve. Wondering if lots of people are active on this site - I've seen a lot of my art friends here, but it looks like quite a lot of them haven't been here in awhile. Hope that there will be lots of cool back and forth and learning going on and that I'll meet new friends and get to do some networking!
Press Release for my upcoming show!
November 2, 2010 – January 2, 2011
Opening Reception: Friday, November 26, 2010 – from 5PM – 7PM
Aphrodite Gallery is pleased to present watercolor paintings by Helena Domenic, along with special guest artists Bev Gelfand and Katie Lennon. Aphrodite Gallery is located on the third floor at 620 S. Fifth Street, Philadelphia, PA, 19147.
Helena Domenic is a visionary artist whose interests in mythology and fantasy have led her into the Realm of the Fae, where she has painted a series of erotic faerie paintings. Taking inspiration from sources such as Celtic faerie tales, her own imagination, and even the realm of **** porn, Helena has created a new series of paintings unique to her usual but unmistakable style.
Dancing between the worlds artist Katie Lennon has always been fascinated by tales of myth, and of worlds beyond our normal perception. Through various media she shares her vision of Faerie, or the Otherworld, with the beings of this world.
Bev Gelfand is a multi-talented artist who began creating dolls made of polymer clay in October 2006. Specializing in Pin-up Art, and working in miniature scale, Bev uses all of what she has learned, and applies it using her creativity and spontaneity, and most importantly, has fun while doing it.
The Aphrodite Gallery is located on the third floor of the Sexploratorium (620 South 5th Street) in the heart of the South Street business District. Aphrodite Gallery was created as Philadelphia’s showcase for erotic fine arts in 2003. Stained glass artist Cindi Bartholomew was the first artist showcased and has been followed by dozens of other local, national and international artists of acclaim. Originally located in the second floor apartment above Fetishes Boutique (now PASSIONAL Boutique) Aphrodite Gallery featured monthly exhibits and hosted dozens of PASSION 101 workshops until it moved into the new Sexploratorium building down the street where it continues to grow and evolve.
