It's a beautiful day to be alive! Today my beloved celebrates his birthday ~ what a special day birthdays are. I plan on making this day simply amazing for him. I know that the Good Spirits will provide him with a blessed 24th year
Mother Nature prevented fireworks in many places in my hometown ~ lightening storms!!
I just watched the news ~ the weather won't budge from 90 degrees for the next 7 days. I miss capricious weather. I'm a native of the New England states and miss the seasons terribly. I can't explain or decide which season I miss the most! The fall led way to school (excitement!), Halloween, and Thanksgiving. Every day I'd walk in the forest and admire the changing leaves. Truly, those amber leaves were a sign of blessings and nature's ability to rejuvinate herself. Simply beautiful. Winter's blustry days were filled with anticipation ~ the holidays! I'm happiest in December and I am not sure why. I remember as a child playing outside in the snow. Coming inside with ruddy cheeks and a cold nose! My mama would serve me hot coccoa and put my mittens on the radiator so they'd be toasty when I went back for more play. Spring in New England was unpredictable! One day you'd be rejoicing when the temperature rose to the 60s... the next day it would be below freezing again! The anticipation of the weather was fun. Summer was a time of freedom and self-exploration. Trips to the lake, family picnics in the backyard and a time to read, relax, and just Be.
Here, the weather is stagnant. It's either hot, hotter, or hottest! I am happy in sunny South Florida, for sure, but I do miss the seasons.
But my psyche prefers a sunny sky to a dismal one.

Hello Holle, what a delight to wander around your EF gallery, thank you for sharing such special pictures & writing, & for joining our community =) warm welcomes. I am a big supporter of teachers, especially having experienced that profession myself for many years, & then seeing what a wonderful effect good teaching had on my own boys ~ you are very valuable beings, helping to care for & inspire the younglings, true heroes in my eyes & greatly appreciated *big smiles* the age group you tutor is adorable & can be really fun as I remember! I shall try to send you a taste of our English seasons, though this summer is proving to be as wet as last year ~ so I'll think of you more on a brighter day & we can share a cyber cup of tea under our white mulberry tree with the beautiful birds ~ until then, please could you kindly send us some of your lovely warm sunshine...
