This song, Got It Good, really made my morning and I wanted to share it with you all.
If I had one wish, if I had one wish It would be to be free of this fighting all around 'Cause it's so wrong and it could be so right In my heart I know we're here to grow To love, to give, to learn, to live together
And I believe in miracles, open up your eyes
Got a soul, got a mind, got a heart that beats in time You've got a smile, got a voice, got the gift of love You've got it good, don't forget how lucky you are Darling, darling Use it to connect with everyone
Don't you know we're golden, covered up with mud One day you'll see the truth that we all share the same blood Supposed to love thy neighbor, together we should stand Whatever color, race, or creed, come on and hold my hand
'Cause I don't differentiate, we're all the same to me
Got a soul, got a mind, got a heart that beats in time You've got a smile, got a voice, got the gift of love You've got it good, don't forget how lucky you are Darling, darling Use it to connect with everyone
And it's getting so serious Crush my heart in pieces But I know I'm not alone in wanting peace No, ooh
And if you feel what I feel, raise your hands with me
Got a soul, got a mind, got a heart that beats in time You've got a smile, got a voice, got the gift of love You've got it good, don't forget how lucky you are Darling (darling), darling (darling) Use it to connect with everyone Got a soul, got a mind, got a heart that beats in time You've got a smile, got a voice, got the gift of love You've got it good, don't forget how lucky you are Darling (darling), darling (darling) Thank you for the moments that we have
I finally posted some of my favorite pics from FaerieCon 2008 in Philadelphia, PA! I know I am a little behind but well worth the wait. My best friend, Nikki, and I drove from Nashville to Jersey just across the river from Philadelphia. The PA turnpike was the worst part of the whole trip. We got turned around, while I was sleeping, and ended up like a 100 miles the wrong direction. We finally made it to our little hotel and were just 20 minutes from all the action. Philly was a great town and everyone we met was really nice. Thanks to the Philadelphia Convention Center for all the daytime fun and the Trocadero for the night. I came home with lots of goodies for all. I even had one of my books, The Runes of Elfland, signed by Ari Berk. Wendy Froud was there the last day of the Convention, but Brian was unable to make it due to an illness. I was devastated. Meeting Brian Froud was one of my main reasons for going in the first place. I was so sad I didn't even talk to Wendy. They were handing out autographs from Brian as a consolation prize. I have tucked it safely in my 1st edition Faeries book. I guess I will have to hunt him down some other time in my life. I am wholeheartedly planning on attending the 2009 Faeriecon outside of Baltimore, MD, but the Frouds are not on the special guest list. I will have to make due with all the other fabulous mystical authors and artists. I think I can manage. I hope to see some of you there!
