A very simple and tiny short story, maybe for children, about a smile. I wrote it a couple of hours ago. It came as easy as a thought that began "once upon a time there was a smile". And the rest came afterwards. Hope you like it, if you read it. (Please, if you do, could you write any comment? I'd like to know what people think about it ;).
A Smile
Once upon a time there was a smile. She was so
bright, lovely and happy that everybody thought she would never fade. From time
to time she was shier than she used to be, but it only lasted some days, so
later on, she would be as nice as always she had been.
Occasionally, she started to leave during some
hours, then days and finally, weeks. Nobody knew where she had gone. Neither
the smile did. She found herself in a dark place without anything, apart of
black.
The smile was imprisoned during a lot of time
in a jail of sadness and she could not get off it. She waited and waited and
waited. She nearly got desperate. Until one day (although she did not know when
was day or night), a tiny little ray of light entered the dark. She was very
happy. How could that have happened? But it did.
Eventually and very slooooooooowly, the light
got bigger and bigger and more and more powerful, till there was no darkness at
all.
At least, the smile was free again.
She went out –very carefully,– and rejoined her
friends who were all as happy as she for her return.
And they lived happily ever after? Well, they
did. Sort of. There were times that the smile felt pretty sad and she
disappeared a little while, but she knew the way to come back, so her little
trips lasted just a few days.
I thought that it would be necessary to write a short presentation or maybe leave here some signs to realize, you magic people, that I'm alive lol.
First of all, there's not a big necessity to present myself in this blog, because in the left side of the page there's a HUGE list of things that I like, so you can get a pretty good idea of how I am. However...
I'm from Spain. Catalonia, the 'county' where I live is in the North-West part of Spain (near the Mediterranean Sea). I think I am one of the few people in my city that like so much the celtic world (from mythology and music to religion), faeries, fantasy... So, I thought it could be good to have another web-blog-thing page in the net, as in this way I may know more people that have the same interests as me. (I'm quite lucky of having some friends that also love this kind of things, unfortunatelly, none of them lives in my town ^^U, a pity).
I don't know what will be the use I'll give to this place. Usually, I post at: http://www.inannapilgrim.blogspot.com in Spanish (reflections, fairytales, basically a hodgepodge or hotchpotch (whatever is written lol)), and also I write sometimes in my account of DeviantArt, where I upload photos and some... mmm... more-or-less art I do (it really sucks, I'm very bad, unlike my boyf and friends... T_T). The direction is http://inannapilgrim.deviantart.com/ if you have an account at DA and want to say hello, it'll make me be very happy ^^.
Maybe I'll do a kind of English-version of my journal, or I'll write more about faeries, celtic-druidic stuff, or post things that I've read recently. Oh! And photos, loads of photos! That's quite for sure XD.
By the way, I have just returned from Broceliande (a big forest in Brittany, France), where lots of Arturian legends take place... and it's SO beautiful! I recommend to everybody that if you have the chance to go there, just do it! =D
Well, it's time to go to bed (it's 0:00 AM) and tomorrow I have classes...
If somebody reads this and thinks that we could get along well, feel free to leave a comment, send a note, or whatever ^^
Dear Inanna Pilgrim, my deep apologies for taking so long to Welcome you to EF, it is delightful to have you here and I have really enjoyed your playlist whilst writing to you, thank you! Your English is excellent by the way. I hope we get to read some of your magical written work someday on this space, an English version of your journal would be wonderful, yes please...
(PS: Charles Vess totally Rocks),
Big Smiles, especially as you have reminded me of the Moomins!!
Be
Just wanted to say hi, I just read your story it's so lovely!
I have also been to Broceliande last summer and indeed it is a most magical place. Do you know the story of the spirit of Morgan le Fay who would still wander around in this forest? They say she kills all men who ever cheated on there wifes and keep there souls in a secret place somewhere in the forest.
Thanks so much for adding me to your friends and for the nice comment on my page. I'm so glad you like my music! My CD just came out and I get nervous that people won't like it. So thanks for the encouragement :)
I love the music on your page. Thanks for introducing me to Narsilion. I've never heard of them before.
Hi Inanna, Thank you for your kind comment on my artwork :) I love unicorns too. I haven't got a book of my own yet (always hoping, lol!) but in 2005 some of my artwork was included in two books of Faery art and I have done a book cover recently with a dragon theme due out next year.
This is a very sweet story! I absolutely love the concept. I hope you will write more of these lovely short stories, I would love to read them.
