I live in a warmer city so I can understand that sometimes its a little harder to get into the holiday mood. For me its pretty easy no matter where I am (but I am the type of person who could start listening to Christmas music in August). It's December 6th and you would think that those warm and fuzzy feelings and joy, happiness and peace would be in peoples hearts like it usually is around this time, but this year it seems so far and distant as if it were that last thing on everyones mind. Its not that hard to get into the Spirit of Christmas.... Save some change for the Salvation Army red kettles, tip a little extra for that meal that maybe wasn't the fastest in arriving to your table, (you don't know what the waitress went through today) give someone the closer parking spot, (is it seriously gonna hurt you to walk an extra 30 feet?, if anything it will help shave off all those calories you consumed last night while you were binging on chocolate because you were stressing about what to get so and so), let the single lady holding nyquil and laundry soap cut in front of you in line you have a full cart (yeah the kids are getting restless but what is 2 more minutes gonna mean). And last but most important SMILE!! It can brighten the most foul of moods, You may not witness an immediate reaction, but I bet a little later she might even let someone cut in line!
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays or any other you and yours may observe!
