Yes, I've been a bad little elfling and not keeping up with my Faespace. Sorry, life's just been tantamount to in crisis for some time. Actually, because of some of that, I'm having an early holiday sale.
CHRISTMAS IS COMING!!
Get it done early! ALL PREMADE MAGIC VIAL PENDANTS ARE BUY 1 GET ONE HALF-OFF!!
Put codeword: "BOGO" into "Message to seller" and I'll send you a custom invoice for the sale amount!
Take advantage while the stock remains! Custom orders are already being placed, and the Holidays may get *VERY* busy for me!
And to the FaeSpace community I remind you. I SHIP INTERNATIONALLY! Just contact me about what country you're in and I'll find out S&H for you. UK is $3.50 USD for Shipping & Handling (most of western Europe should be about the same)
which really won't change anytime soon, with the parents coming to visit on Monday, and then still gotta get pieces up and done for the Steampunk Day at the Brooklyn Indie Market while still doing all my custom pieces, AND a day job. . . . oy, I hate the day job right now.
I had volunteered to get The Iron Fairies up on faespace.com I don't know why. I'm not paid nor treated exceptionally well. Pity, because if I'd've had it done by today, I could have announced the 1 Year Anniversary party tonight.
And part of my brain goes instantly into guilt-mode saying I should stop blogging right now and go do this thing, just this quick, it wouldn't take long.
------
OK, there, I did it. *sighs* Sometimes I wish I wasn't so compelled to always be such a nice person. I look around and see some really selfish bitches, and think how easy it must be for them. But it's just not in my nature, and I suppose I should be thankful for that.

So, yes, busy. I'm still a mad addict to Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab with no sign of slowing down. My collection of imps is growing. I'm going to the post office just as often for Imp swaps as I do to mail Magic Vial Necklaces. The fact they have a whole discussion board devoted to non-perfume uses for their oils just fuels the fire. I've made a solid perfume with cocoa butter and soy wax out of *Lightning* and have then used that to rub into my wooden hairsticks to scent my hair with. I made a soap out of *Kubla Khan* and have diluted *Kitsune Tzuki* into a spritzer (with jojoba oil and vodka). I've got an order of 6 1 ml rollerballs on the way for easier use, and am chomping at the bit, wanting to buy *Fairy Market* from the Neil Gaiman Stardust line. I have an imp of it, and it's an AMAZING scent!
It wouldn't be so tempting to spend my paypal money if I hadn't had my bank account at WaMu. So it's been accumulating in paypal, instead of getting downloaded into my account and used for utilities and food. I don't know when I'll have the time, but I've GOT to get a new bank. *sighs*
NOTE TO EUROPEANS: At this rate, the dollar's going to be worth ****. You seriously might want to check out my shop, the exchange rate has *GOT* to be huge in your favor, and I will ship *ANYWHERE* as long as you cover the postage. Izile's Oddities Magic friendly, and custom work welcome!
Seriously, sorry for the long quiet, but I have been inundated! I'm trying to get a lot of stuff together, because I've been invited to join the Brooklyn Indie Market's "Steam Punk Day!" I've also been trying to figure out how to make more "steampunky" type items.
That, and of course, there's the day job (oy), and the commission work through DeviantArt and Etsy, which I really can't afford to slack on.
I've put the Goblin Market on back burner, maybe November, I couldn't do a market (even small barter market) in the same month as the BIM event.
I'm becoming even more a hopeless procrastinating addict to Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab. I'm really getting into Imp Swapping on the BPAL forums. Last night I got in two long awaited imps, "The East" (from Gaiman's "Stardust") and "Fairy Market" (also from "Stardust"). I already own the bottle of Yvaine, and I may damn well have to have a full 5ml bottle of these as well! Particularly since I've been learning uses for BPAL scents besides just extravagent perfumery.
And in a strange personal note, a Magician and an Angel came into the shop and took me out for coffee, it was one of the nicest, but oddest social encounters I've had in a while. It left me feeling upbeat, and laughing, 'My life is SO weird!" (in a good way, I think.)
So, I dunno, ever since I got back from DragonCon and got introduced to Changeling: The Lost, I've been having crazy, mad, fun, fantasy ideas.
I'm not sure how to go about it, where to try and get interested parties the information, or blah blah blah; but I want to start a REAL Goblin Market.
Specifically, in DUMBO (down under the manhattan-brooklyn overpass), either during the full moon or new moon; and the BIG rule, NO HUMAN CURRENCY!
A fantasy/pagany/kinnish/hippie/faeish/eccentric barter market; people could bring herbs, flowers, home-baked goodies, ACEOs, beads, odd little knick-knacks, cool pieces of junk, poems, etc . .. and trade.
Since there'd be nothing sold or bought, it would bypass the need for licensing.
Few things to update about. First off, I'm wanting to raise funds for more promotional materials, so I'm trying to drum up business with a bit of sale.
**ORDER 1 CUSTOM VIAL and get 1 *FREE* upgrade! (ie. Pay for standard,
get free upgrade to Sterling Silver; pay for Sterling Silver, get free
upgrade to 14K gold.)
I've had some new experiments, something a bit lighter and more fun. I've made two tiny glass bottles, 2" tall and 3" in circumferance, filled according to two very different themes, and then capped off with different colors of raw silk and satin ribbon.
The first is "Fairy Food" and is filled with porridge, poppy seeds, sunflower seeds, red
quinoa, saffron threads, lemon thyme, and honeycomb. (All ingredients
are dry and uncooked, except for the lemon thyme which was fresh from
my garden).
The second is "Vampire Repellent" and is filled with a clove of garlic, a dried red rose bud, a sterling silver cross, and a miniature wooden stake.
They're both available at my etsy shop, Izile's Oddities, for $10.00, or, I have listed both of them as "trials" on my new WinkElf.com site, HERE, where I have a "make an offer" feature activated on each one.
I'm not too sure about WinkElf.com, yet; but it's free so I'm willing to give it a try. Very wait and see for now.
Aside from that, I'm getting ready to go to Atlanta, GA this weekend for DragonCon! It's my first ever convention - since I don't count SantaCon (just 500+ people in santa suits wandering Manhattan yelling, "Santa needs a beer!"). My costume won't be fab, tight funds and all; but it won't be that bad, I don't hope. I'm going to be the pirate Pride, of the seven deadly sins.
The joke has been that I'll strut around as Pride, Lust will follow after me, leering, Wrath will follow him, glowering, and Envy will follow him, wanting the attention. I'm not sure about Gluttony or Greed; and Sloth won't be there, because they were too lazy to come. How much of this actually comes to pass, well, it's dubious. Funny concept, though.
