After just getting home, it's hard to believe I'm leaving again in the morning. I normally would never schedule myself that hectically on purpose, but as the timing/date of the art class and of the 4th of July (duh!) are both out of my hands, that's just how it worked out this year. I've been busy though....
Some exciting stuff for today! I have my big original "Queen Elizabeth" painting up for a penny auction, I have two new original DRAWINGS (oswoa sized!), and and I also have a few brand new ACEO Cards as well!! This will be my last update for a few days. Please bid with confidence though - I'll be back in plenty of time before these auctions end, so there will be absolutely no delays!
First off is "Queen Elizabeth and the Lion" - some of you may have seen her before - she's one of the most magnificent Tudor style portraits I've done, and she was up in my eBay store, but as I'm streamlining my studio and preparing new original paintings for some conventions & art shows this fall (Dragon*Con & FaerieCon!), I thought I'd put her up for an eBay penny auction, so everybody can get a chance at her!

"Queen Elizabeth and a Lion" is her name - being a bit of a history buff, I've long been obsessed with Tudor history and art, especially portraits of Queen Elizabeth I. She always wore the best clothes, and wasn't shy to pile on the jewelry! I've honoured her with this new, original painting - showing her in all of her splendor with a magnificent lion (a historical symbol of British royalty & the power of the monarchy, etc.). You'll see many tiny details in here, including several incarnations of the "Tudor Rose" (a symbol for the family's dynasty). This painting truly will bring an air of mystery, elegance, and history to any room. She is on a sturdy 16x20" masonite panel and already varnished, which means you can pretty much pop her into any open wood 16x20 frame you like, no glass needed. This original painting is up on eBay starting at just ONE PENNY with no reserve for a 10-Day auction ending the evening of Friday, July 11th at 7:00PM Central Time. You can see her below:
Next up - a brand new type of artwork from me - due to popular demand! So many of you (you know who you are!) have been requesting that I occasionally list original drawings or sketches in addition to my usual original paintings. So just to try it out - I thought I'd do a couple of lovely original drawings in the OSWOAâ„¢ size (4"x6"). These are ORIGINAL DRAWINGS, not prints of any kind. Both are pencil & charcoals on toned cardstock, are 4"x6" and are absolutely beautiful. When I was in France I spent a good deal of time drawing, and realized how much I enjoy it. So here we have a "To Love a Frog Drawing" and a "Persephone Drawing" - up on eBay for 10-Day auctions ending the evening of Friday, July 11th at 7:03PM & 7:06PM Central Time.
Now for the new ACEOs - for more info about ACEO cards, how I make them & what they are (basically tiny hand embellished one of a kind canvas prints, trading card sized and highly collectable), consult the individual auction descriptions - they are each one of a kind, hand-painted with accents by me, the artist, and are awesome! All are starting at a penny, with no reserve for ten-day auctions ending on the evening of Friday, July 11th 6:45PM - 6:56PM Central Time:
To see them ALL together visit the ACEO section of my store HERE!
I'm back from my art trip to France! I had a WONDERFUL time! I learned a lot and had a lot of fun. Over the next few weeks you will surely see a lot of new artwork from me inspired by my trip. I'm still getting settled in (jet lag!) and surely I'll do a much better post about my trip later, hopefully with photos, etc. I had so much fun, even better than our last class there! Larry is awesome as always, and of course my good friends Delphine () and Steven () were there, which was wonderful, and my other great friends (Tammy, Chad, Kelly, Donna, Gonzague) and new friends (Tom, Jeff, Cedric & Jason) and others of course. I finally got to go see the Louvre, and am already planning to go back to spend much more time there.
Today I have a bunch of my new (and old!) paintings available as #01 Canvas Prints up for auction. Since I'm now home - all of you who ordered signed & personalized works while I was gone - I've now signed & personalized everything and they are going out today! Also - another head's up - I'll be out of town shortly (again!) - this time just visiting my family for Independence Day, so I've included some important ordering info below.
Again - I will be leaving for Kansas City soon (even though I just got home!)! Don't worry - as long as you have paid for any orders/auctions by noon tomorrow (the 2nd), I will still ship before I go, otherwise everything will ship after I get back home on June 8th. My eBay store is going "on pause" (ie, the store items & framed originals have "disappeared" but will "reappear" when I get home!) - everything will be back to normal when I come home. You can still place orders on my website while I'm gone - please just remember they will ship after I get back home. In the meantime, I will be listing many new eBay auctions (including these new canvas prints) over the next 2-3 days, so feel free to bid on all of those as usual, as they'll be ending after I'm home with no delay!
The new Lt. Ed. #01/25 Hand Embellished Canvas Prints are now up for auction for several of my paintings - Belle of Bonaventure, Swamp Blossom, Pug Pixie, Lamenting the Forgotten, Wings of the Night, Fairy Group Portrait II, Shell Collector, Phoenix Tattoo, Armful of Frogs, & Dorothy in the Poppies - each is up for a 10-day auction on eBay starting at just a penny with NO reserve - the auctions will be ending on the evening of Thursday, July 10th at 5:24 - 7:01 PM Central Time. Again - I will be home in time to ship these out promptly, so there should be no delays - feel free to bid as usual! Click the links below to see the new canvas prints:
To see all of them together, just visit my store here (scroll DOWN past the "I'm on Vacation" disclaimer, hehe!)
Something very special for you today - a new Day of the Dead/Mermaid painting featuring a brand new "Strangeling Frame" up for a penny auction tonight, and also a few new ACEO Cards!!
If the links do not appear to be clickable, simply copy & paste the full link text into the URL field of your browser!
Also - a quick head's up! I've got an art class in France, so I will be out of town leaving tomorrow. However - this will not affect much, as Matt (my husband assistant) is staying here and is, as usual, answering emails, processing orders, and shipping prints & auction items. So most items will ship immediately as always, you won't even know I'm gone. The only issue will be if you place a NEW order (on eBay or my website) either for a signed print or for a canvas print. Reason being, I won't be here to sign it until I'm home on the 29th. All regular auctions (for ACEOs, original paintings, non-signed prints, etc.) and website orders will ship immediately as always. Probably even quicker than usual, since I won't be here to distract Matt, hehe! So basically if you buy any new stuff and want it signed by me, you'll have to wait until the 29th, otherwise everything else you want (or anything you've already ordered) will ship out right away. Everything else is normal.
Now for the art! I have a beautiful, amazingly unique painting for you - a collaboration between myself (the artist) and my husband Matt (the framer/woodcrafter) which combines both 2-dimensional painted elements as well as 3-dimensional sculptural elements! Not only is it a stunning painting - it also has an ORIGINAL "Strangeling Frame"! The frame was handcrafted and hand-cast by myself & Matt - in fact the frame itself contains one of my 3-d wide eyed beauties, as well as some other cool accents! You really have to see this one (link is below) to see what I mean.
Also if the links do not appear to be clickable, simply copy & paste the full link text into the URL field of your browser!
The painting is called "La Sirena" and she is beautiful! The frame was handcrafted and hand-cast by myself & Matty - in fact the frame itself contains one of my 3-d wide eyed beauties, as well as hand painted "Dia de los Muertos" skeletons & skulls! It is way too cool! A gorgeous dark haired mermaid with a Day of the Dead theme. La Sirena is Spanish for "the mermaid" or "the siren", and is a common motif in Mexican folk art and of course the Lotteria! She is on a gothic-style peaked wood panel (masonite) with a stunning carved wood and cast resin frame. The frame is the third "Strangeling Frame" we've made - at the top of the frame is a magnificent ornate casting featuring a bust of one of my Strangeling girls clutching some sinister skulls, and there are multiple cast resin skull accents (which I've painted with colourful Dia de los Muertos designs) at the bottom corners of the frame. Other details enhance the framing, which is all a hand-painted (by me!) silver and aged/antiqued patina, to give it an old, sea-corroded feel. The painting is quite large - I've even posted a photo of myself standing with it in the auction (see the link below) to show size. It is about 33" high and 17" wide, and the ornamentation on the frame is probably about an inch or two thick. It is READY TO HANG! I am so happy I am able to start creating works like these, and by collaborating with my husband and his workshop, I truly have made my dream a reality, especially now that we are branching into TRULY original frames! It really has to be seen in person to appreciate it! It is an original acrylic painting on masonite and it is up for a 10-day auction on eBay starting at just ONE PENNY with NO reserve - the auction will be ending on the afternoon/evening of Saturday, June 28th at 8:13 PM Central Time.

Next up - I have four new ACEO cards! Each one is adorable, 2.5x3.5" - a tiny one of a kind (numbered #1 of 1) hand embellished canvas print in the ACEO trading card size. Each starts as a penny auction on eBay for 10 days ending Saturday, June 28th 6:45PM - 6:27PM Central Time!
Enjoy! I'll be back from France on the 29th! Again - Matt will handle all emails & ship all orders while I'm gone (except for stuff I need to sign), and none of my auctions will be delayed or affected in any way. I should have some fantastic new projects when I come back from France (with Larry Elmore & the gang), refreshed & inspired to create, no doubt!
I have a VERY special cat themed painting for you tonight - not only is it one of my best, it's also a charity fundraiser for a local cat rescue. In addition also have a great new graphics package from CILM for you online image hobbyists (now all available in inexpensive 6-packs!) See below for more details.....
Also if the links do not appear to be clickable, simply copy & paste the full link text into the URL field of your browser!
This new original painting is called "It's All About the Cats." My local cat rescue, "It's All About the Cats" (from whom I adopted my own feral baby, Mama Wolf) contacted me a few days ago, needing help and letting me know that the organization was desparately in need of donations. Hence this painting! 50% of ALL Proceeds from this charity auction go DIRECTLY to It's All About the Cats cat rescue. This wide eyed beauty loves cats as much as I do, and is sitting amongst a bunch of her feline friends. All of the cats in this painting are inspired by actual cats from IAATC Cat Rescue! In fact, the green eyed Maine Coon tabby on the viewer's right is my own kitty - Mama Wolf! This charity auction is handled directly through eBay's GivingWorks program through MissionFish, so you can be assured that the payment received goes DIRECTLY to the charity! I am a strong proponent of pet adoption, and encourage everybody to do what they can for their own local shelters, and if you're looking for a new pet - please consider rescuing! (And if you're looking for a kitty from Central Florida, check out "It's All About the Cats"). It is painted in acrylics and measures a BIG 24"x18". It is up on eBay starting at just one penny with no reserve for a 10-Day auction ending the evening of Thursday, June 26th at 6:05 PM Central Time. You can see it below - click on the "sneak peek" picture to see the whole painting!:

I hope that you have fun with my artwork, and love the kitty cats - enjoy!
Yay! I got my INATS stuff ready, quarterly taxes done, and a bunch of other boring stuff finished, so I'm free to paint again =)
Yesterday at Game Night at 's house, we had a bag of "mystery quest" Doritos. The premise is that you don't know what flavour the chips are until you eat them. They were tasty, I was guessing that they were lime flavoured - they turned out to be Mountain Dew flavoured! Bizarre! But they were actually pretty good, and I'm not normally a fan of Doritos.
Art stuff.... - WARNING - this new painting may induce CUTENESS OVERLOAD! Yes, I have a brand new original painting - "Green Mermaid Triplets" - and I have a couple of new SALE prints up at eBay today - my triptych Wizard of Oz piece "Dorothy in the Poppies," and my "Phoenix Tattoo" are both now ON SALE as both big prints & small prints!
First is the new original painting! It is called "Green Mermaid Triplets" - and as I warned you, they are very CUTE! These mermaid sisters are triplets - big eyed innocence abounds with their cute round faces and fancy green streaked hair. Their svelte tails are spotted and glistening, as they hang together in the murky fathoms of the deep sea. Quite adorable, and quite large as well, measuring 16"x20" - it is an original acrylic painting on a canvas sheet. It is up for a PENNY auction at eBay - going for 10 days ending on Monday, June 23rd at 7:00PM Central Time. Yes this auction really is starting at a penny, so everybody can get a chance at it - click the sneak preview picture below to see the whole painting:
Now for the SALE prints! "Dorothy in the Poppies" & "Phoenix Tattoo" are all both available as SALE prints up at eBay - the small prints are only $9.99 and the big prints are only $20!
To see ALL of the SALE prints together, click below:
I will have some other new original paintings available shortly, including more Strangeling Frames.... the next one is super-cool! I'm also working on a fundraising project for our local cat shelter (from where we adopted Mama Wolf), more about that later....
