Jasmine's "Kali" ORIGINAL Painting, Nutcracker, ACEOs, etc.....

    Monday, December 1, 2008, 09:41 AM [General]

    Hi everyone!

We've been having fun visiting with family this past week or two!  My studio is up and running and (other than the internet connection, which is still dodgy) it's going smoothly.

Even though we've been having fun seeing everybody, etc. - I'm still looking forward to getting back to our "regular" home Florida in a few days - it's so cold here, and there's SNOW.  I don't like cold, don't like snow.  Bah humbug.  We'll be home soon though, and I'll have my palm trees =)  We'll be back up at this place for Christmas though, for sure.  Lots of going back and forth, but now with both studios in operation I'm able to work with no interruption, and orders & shipping will never be affected nor eBay stuff shut down any more - yay! =)

I have a brand new ORIGINAL painting (Kali - a new Hindu piece, and she is READY-TO-HANG!), three new ACEOs,  and the #01 Lt. Ed. Hand Embsllished Canvas print for my "Nutcracker Suite" painting - all starting at ONE PENNY!

First off is the new original painting - "Kali" - quite large at 24" high and 6" wide - and wow, there is a lot of colour squeezed into this one! I've long been fascinated with Hindu artwork - devotional images of the beautiful gods and goddesses with their mysterious blue skin used to intrigue me as a child. Kali - possibly my favourite - an incarnation of the mother goddess - but a VERY powerful force to be reckoned with! She's often depicted with severed heads, wreaking her vengence on those who cross her.... I've taken a more subtle approach and have given her a garland of skulls. I've portrayed her in the traditional Daksinakali dancing pose, and this REALLY is a beautiful painting. The colours are MUCH better and more vibrant in real life. It's a great size & shape -it truly can be the focus of any room, or tucked away in a narrow niche or nook. She is a 24"x6" painting on cradled masonite - which has a 2" deep Gallery-Style wood cradle so NO FRAMING NEEDED - Matt has even put a hanger on there for you already.  She is up for sale on eBay - a seven day auction starting at ONE PENNY with no reserve - ending on the night of Sunday, December 7th at 9:49 PM Central Time and you can see her here:

Next up - the #01 (first in the edition!) Lt. Ed. hand painted CANVAS print for my beautiful "Nutcracker Suite" painting - in plenty of time for Christmas, too!  She's up for a penny auction, 7 days, ending on the evening of Sunday, December 7th at 5:00PM Central time - check her out here:

Next are the new ACEOs - for more info about ACEO cards, how I make them & what they are (basically tiny hand embellished one of a kind canvas prints, trading card sized and highly collectable), consult the individual auction descriptions - they are each one of a kind and are awesome!  All are starting at a penny, with no reserve for 7-day auctions ending on the evening of Sunday, December 7th,  5:03PM -5:09PM Central Time.

To see them ALL together, visit the ACEO section of my store by CLICKING HERE!

And finally, since it's "Cyber Monday" for the holiday shopping season - I wanted to let you all know that I'm continuing the FREE SHIPPING PROMO at www.strangeling.com !  This promotion is for website orders ONLY through strangeling.com (not eBay, etsy, etc. - only those placed at strangeling.com) - and YES the free shipping is on any print orders - no matter how many prints or canvases you buy, no matter where in the world you live.  If you live in Antarctica and order 2,300 prints - shipping is still free.  To see my website and get free shipping on prints, just go to www.strangeling.com and click on "Gallery"!

TWO Original Jasmine Paintings, Alice/Strangeling Frame & Candy Canes & MORE

    Monday, November 24, 2008, 06:52 PM [General]

    Hi everyone!

Something very special for you today - TWO ORIGINAL PAINTINGS! Yep! One is brand new - "Candy Cane Angel" - a holiday themed painting, and the other one is a magnificent "Strangeling Framed" piece (one of my best yet) that you may have seen before, but now she's up for a ONE PENNY auction - "Alice in the Pool of Tears" - yes, the actual original, Strangeling Frame and all, yes, one penny!!!

First off is "Candy Cane Angel" - a brand new original painting from me - READY-TO-HANG - a golden haired angelic girl with big beautiful eyes, peppermint candy accents, a gorgeous dress - holding a delicious looking candy cane! She is an original acrylic painting on 8"x10" cradled masonite which is 2" thick and ready to hang (Matt's even put a hanger on there for you already!) - she's up on eBay for a 7 day auction ending the evening of Monday, December 1st, at 6:14PM Central Time. She's up for ONE PENNY, no reserve - up on eBay here:

Now something very special (some of you may have seen her before, but she's pretty new to most of you!) - the latest original in my Alice in Wonderland series featuring a brand new "Strangeling Frame" (it is so cool)! "Alice in the Pool of Tears" is a beautiful, amazingly unique painting for you - a collaboration between myself (the artist) and my husband Matt (the framer/woodcrafter) which combines both 2-dimensional painted elements as well as 3-dimensional sculptural elements! Not only is it a stunning painting - it also has an ORIGINAL "Strangeling Frame"! The frame was handcrafted and hand-cast by myself & Matt - in fact the frame itself contains one of my 3-d wide eyed beauties (looking a bit like Alice herself!)! It is way too cool! You really have to see this one (link is below) to see what I mean. It has some little nautical ship details in the frame too! "Alice in the Pool of Tears" illustrates Alice - after becoming doubtful and disoriented - crying so many tears that it becomes a great sea. As in the book, a friendly mouse swims up - and a crab too! I've painted the piece in subtle, almost sepia-like tones which really gives it a stunning dreamlike quality. There is a phenomenal amount of detail in this piece, I'm very proud of it. It is READY TO HANG! 22"x19" in size, and it's gorgeous! It really has to be seen in person to appreciate it! Normally I would ask several thousand dollars at a fixed price for a stunning showpiece like this, but as I'm getting my studio(s) ready for the holiday rush I'm clearing out wallspace! It is an original acrylic painting on masonite and she's up on eBay for a 7 day auction ending the evening of Monday, December 1st, at 6:18 PM Central Time. She's up for ONE PENNY, no reserve - up on eBay here:

CLICK HERE to see my "Alice in the Pool of Tears" - ORIGINAL STRANGELING FRAMED PAINTING

Enjoy! Tomorrow is Matt's birthday, so we'll have some fun then! =) =) =)  And then it's practically Thanksgiving after that, so I'd best locate a Tofurky!

Jasmine's New Witchy Sisters Original & Alice Steampunk Porthole

    Sunday, November 23, 2008, 06:22 PM [General]

    Hi everyone!

Today was fun - (for me at least, Matt had to stay here to do orders and work still!) - I went with my sisters and Chris and my dad and Theo and Ellie up to my Grandma's house in St. Joe (Joseph) Missouri for a visit!  That is one of the nice things about having this secondary house up here, I get to see more of my family.  Got to talk to Grandma a lot, had sandwiches, fun times =)

Now of course, back to work!

I have a brand new original painting to show you, the second in my "Witchy Sisters" series - this time it's "Siamese Witch Twins! I also have a brand new Steampunk Porthole (featuring Alice in Clockwork!)!

It's exciting - this is the first painting I've done in my new studio!

The new painting - "Siamese Witch Twins." Two little witch sisters - apparently joined together in some way, staring big eyed at the viewer - and guess what? This time they brought their broom! I love these girls so much! It measures 14" tall by 11" tall, an original acrylic painting on a cradled masonite panel - 2" thick - gallery style - this is READY TO HANG - no frame necessary, just stick it up on wall (Matt's already added a hanger!). These little witch sisters are up for auction on eBay starting at just ONE PENNY for a 7-day auction ending on the evening of Sunday, November 30th, at 6:03 PM Central time, and you can see it here:

    Jasmine's ORIGINALS Now Available

Next up! A new "Steampunk Porthole" - this one featuring my lovely "Alice in Clockwork". A fantastic new product - a series of magical "Steampunk Portholes"!! READY TO HANG! This is a reproduction of my original acrylic painting on an 8" round MDF panel. It features my "Alice in Clockwork" - from my Alice in Wonderland series. I can't stress how gorgeous this is! Glossy almost like glass, the colours are vibrant! The "porthole" frame is VERY LIGHTWEIGHT - it is NOT METAL (it is a cast resin-foam composite) and there is NO GLASS, so you can hang it easily on any wall without worry or exra braces - there's a wire hanger on the back already. Not at all heavy as it looks, I promise! It is a high gloss permanent image (it is a heat-set dyed PERMANENT reproduction on a wood/MDF panel) set into the 12" porthole frame. All in all it is 12"x12" and quite thick - 2" - all a one-piece frame (no, it doesn't open, sorry!). Perfect for an Alice, fairytale, Neo-Victorian or steampunk themed room, or even a nautical/marine look. I plan on making more of these - they would look great lined up or in a grouping (like you're on your airship or submarine!). Again - you really should see all the photos in the auction below to see what I mean - she's neat! She's up on eBay starting at just one penny with no reserve for a 7-Day auction ending the afternoon/evening of Sunday, November 30th at 6:00 PM Central Time. You can see her below:

    Enjoy!

Jasmine's Back! New Dogtag necklaces, Red Butterfly Ferrets & Mermaid Eclipse prints......

    Friday, November 21, 2008, 12:30 PM [General]

Hi everyone!  Still swamped with boxes, about halfway through them now (added to the mess by adding some more shelves, filing cabinets, chairs, two more computer desks bought at Office Max yesterday - as if we didn't have enough of that stuff, hehe!).  Sorry for the short posts - I should have a more proper update soon - for now I'm just copying my art update mailing list here for those of you who are interested:

I'm back!!! Well, right now I'm in my new secondary studio in Kansas City at least. For those who missed the last update - we have built a second home/studio/shipping center up north by our families. No, we're not moving from Florida, we'll just be up here every few weeks, and with two studio centers there will be a much smoother transition for you guys! We're coming along nicely, and now have the secondary printing & shipping center ready to go. Still getting the art studio side setup, but that should be ready this weekend so I should have new paintings for you soon! All orders placed during the setup (past couple of days) will be processed and shipped asap. We're ready & running for new orders too - and you're in luck - today I have a TON of new "Dogtag" Necklaces for sale! In addition I have "Mermaid Eclipse" and "Red Butterfly Ferrets" up as this week's SALE prints!

First up - my eBay store, Etsy store, and website are all up and running as usual now! Feel free to check them out and order as usual, sorry they were on hiatus these past few days. I have several original paintings up on eBay for sale - I have put the "Make Offer" option on all those applicable - feel free to make me your best offer if any are out of your price range. I'm never insulted and consider every offer seriously =) To see the originals currenly available, click below:

Click HERE to see Jasmine's Currently Available Originals!

Next up - the Dogtag necklaces! Some NEW ones too this time - Poe/Mechanical Angel I, Violet Duchess / Loup Garou Noir, Dress of Storms/Mildew, Queen Elizabeth and an Ermine/ Elizabeth with a Lion, and Red Butterfly Ferrets/Winged Ferret. Also I've re-stocked many of my other dogtags as well, so check them all out! These are double-sided metal pendants, complete with chain, featuring gorgeous reproductions of some of my most popular paintings. All up on Etsy! At only $11.99 each, they are a bargain - you can even put several tags on the same chain to carry your collection of artwork around with you. Again - they are double-sided, so they feature a different painting on each side - very cool! Since Etsy is a site for artists to sell their handmade goods, that's where I put my more "crafty" stuff when I have it. Etsy is FREE to register, it only takes less than a minute, and is even easier to use than eBay (everything is a fixed price, you just buy it and checkout!). Some of these are selling already, so they may go fast. I apologize if some are sold out If you guys like these, I will definitely make more!! To see ALL the dogtag necklaces, click below:

Click HERE to see ALL Jasmine's new dogtag necklaces!

If that doesn't work in your browser, try going to:

    http://strangeling.etsy.com

And click on the "Dog/ID Tag Art Necklaces" section link near the top right of the page.

Next up - yes I have new SALE prints! This week the sale prints are "Red Butterfly Ferrets" and "Mermaid Eclipse". Click below to see ALL this week's sale prints:

Click HERE to ses this week's SALE Prints!

And individually - Mermaid Eclipse 8"x10"s for only $9.99  &  the BIG Mermaid Eclipse 12"x16"s for only $20

Red Butterfly Ferrets 8"x10"s for only $9.99  &  the BIG Red Butterfly Ferrets 12"x16"s for only $20
