I have a brand new original painting "Princess with a Himalayan Cat" (and it is FRAMED) for you tonight, and also four new ACEO cards!
"Princess with a Himalayan Cat" - inspired by a lot of the French portraits I got to see in the Louvre on my trip last month, we have a beautiful princess and her Himalayan cat. This is a lush, gorgeous painting with a lot of of detail (especially in the fabric of her dress!) and of course, a beautiful kitty. And it is FRAMED! Yes, you get the FRAME too - and it is gorgeous! It is the original painting, on a masonite panel and it has been framed in a GORGEOUS open-wood antique style ornate golden frame - measuring framed in total 26" high by 22" wide, and the frame is about 3" deep and about 5" wide! I have finished the painting with a glossy varnish and it looks amazing. She is 100% ready-to-hang - just stick her up on a nail on the wall, and you are good to go! Back to painting I go - I have finished so many paintings this month I will be debuting at the Dragon*Con Art Show, they are piling up. It's funny to have so many paintings that I haven't put online yet, but it will be a treat for those who come out to see me, and will of course be fun for all the online folks to see them finally when I get back =)
By this time next month, I'll be in Japan! I'll have been in Japan for several days by that time, I'm so excited!
I have a new original (ready to hang!) painting - "Albino Alligator Angel" (yeah, you read that right), a bunch of new #01 Canvas Prints (lots of good ones!), SALE Prints of "Poe" and of "Cretaceous Mermaid," and a new CILM Graphics Pack!
The new original painting so pretty, and adorable! "Albino Alligator Angel" - an albino alligator in the lap of a big eyed beautiful angel. Where I live, I see alligators every day - on the way to the post office, the grocery store, across the street.... I figured it was about time I painted one! Albino alligators really do exist - they are amazingly lovely (as are the occasional blue-eyed white gators, I ought to paint one of them someday too....) - I painted this cute one with a delicate angelic creature all in shades of pink and white - it's really a lovely painting. It's 12"x16" and is on 1.5" thick gallery style cradled masonite - Matt has added a hanger on the back, so it is READY TO HANG! No frame needed! I've painted the wooden sides a glossy black, so it looks pretty sharp. It is up for sale on eBay - a 7-day auction starting at ONE PENNY with no reserve - ending on the evening of Monday, August 18th at 6:45 PM Central Time- you can see her below by clicking on the thumbnail sneak preview image:
Next up are the CANVAS prints! "La Sirena," "Green Mermaid Triplets," "It's All About the Cats," "Nymphs Collecting Berries," and "Lighting the Way." Each is printed on a sheet of canvas, which I have then hand embellished with acrylic paints, signed and numbered. They are each limited to only 25 canvas prints per picture, and these are the FIRST (#01 of 25) canvases of the edition. So happy, we have almost everything ready for the Dragon*Con Art Show all packed up and ready to go! Other than several original paintings I'm still needing to finish, that is =) I just finished up a special Strangeling-Framed Halloween painting that will debut at Dragon*Con (one of a handful of Strangeling-Framed paintings I'll have there!), it turned out SO cool. All the other stuff is all ready though, with weeks to spare. I'm proud of us this year!
I have just completed a HUGE gallery update at my website! Over a dozen new prints! All of my new paintings are now available there as prints (and canvas prints) - even the BRAND new never-released ones (like Marie Masquerade, Strangely Lonely, Cretaceous Mermaid, Poe, etc.), and they all have free shipping anywhere in the world!!! First off is the new original painting - I just finished this one tonight - the sixth installment in my ever-popular "Flowers" series - we have "Black Orchid Fairy"! It turned out REALLY pretty - a beautiful fairy with the magnificent Black Orchids - one of my personal favourite flowers, it's really a deep velvety purple rather than black, but they're called that anyways. The colours in this are even more beautiful in person! She is a 12"x16" painting on cradled masonite - she is on a 1.5" deep Gallery-Style wood cradle so NO FRAMING NEEDED - Matt has even put a hanger on there for you already. I have been doing a lot of paintings lately! You can't see them though (nyah nyah nyah) because they're for Dragon*Con. All I can say is this will be the Best Dragon*Con Ever :) And for those of you not coming to see me there at the Art Show, no worries, I'll post pics when I get home of course online.
I do have one AWESOME big new painting tonight up for auction though for you now (It has a mermaid AND dinosaurs in it, beat that!!), as well as a couple of new original DRAWINGS (oswoa sized - Sea Star and A Pumpkin Gift). Also I have a new "Wolf Pack" sale (basically three wolf prints together for a sale price!). Very cool stuff!
First off is "Cretaceous Mermaid" - a glorious painting - all READY TO HANG - no framing needed. Big too - 24" high by 18" wide. I'm the first to admit it, I'm a big dinosaur/palentology nerd, and made this painting for the sheer pleasure of it. The Cretaceous Period would have been a very perilous time for mermaids. Feisty mosasaurs, plesiosaurs, all the fantastic marine reptiles that I adore (yet they terrify my husband, who is creeped out by this piece, hehe!). Throwing geological science out the window for once (hey, it's FANTASY right? And yes, I know technically these are prehistoric marine reptiles, not techincally dinosaurs either, blah!) I've included a gorgeous dark haired mermaid with these perilous monsters of the deep. Scary critters, and pretty ones too, like one of my personal favourites -a nautilus! It is an original acrylic painting on GALLERY STYLE CRADLED MASONITE - Matt has added a hanger on the back, so it is READY TO HANG! No frame needed! Basically it's like masonite, but with deep wooden sides, known as "gallery style." Of course you can always add a frame if you want (gallery profile), but she looks awesome by herself too. I've painted the wooden sides a glossy black, so it looks pretty sharp. This really is a lovely painting - and she is up on eBay starting at just ONE PENNY with no reserve for a 7-Day auction ending the evening of Thursday, August 7th at 6:25PM Central Time.
