MegaCon & Three New Paintings from Jasmine!

    Tuesday, March 11, 2008, 08:49 AM [General]

    Hi everyone!

I'm back from MegaCon! WOW we had a fantastic show! One of the best ever! Thank you all SO much for coming to see me, I was so thrilled that so many of you came! We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back next year =)

We're taking Alex back to the airport today, we had a LOT of fun with her visiting here, both with the show stuff and with just hanging out.  We got to see lots of Carrie too (and Deanna!) and had loads of fun hanging out with them as well!

I sold a couple of the new never-before-seen original paintings at the show, I will be sure to post pictures of them later, in case anybody wants to see what they missed, hehe. In the meantime though, I have three other new original paintings to show you! One is the new original in my Flower Series up for a "penny auction", and another is a lovely framed piece with butterflies in my eBay store, and the other is a big gorgeous Koi Pond Mermaid, also framed and in my eBay store.

The first new painting is called "Autumn Crocus Fairy" and she is my latest original painting in my Flower Series - measures 12"x16" and is an original acrylic painting on a sturdy canvas panel, already varnished and would be very easy to pop right into a frame. Autumn Crocuses are beautiful little flowers that poke their way through the leaves, very pretty (and the fairy inspired by them is as well). She is up for auction on eBay starting at just ONE PENNY with no reserve! She's up for a 7 day auction ending on the evening of Monday, March 17th at 7:00 PM CENTRAL TIME and You can see her below....

The next new painting is called "Koi Pond Mermaid" is my latest FRAMED original painting! This is one of my best paintings to date - those of you lucky enough to attend MegaCon got to see her, but she is brand new for the rest of you. It features a stunning dark haired mermaid with a koi fish-like tail and her koi pond friends. It is very delicately painted, with the lily pads and ripples surrounding the slightly emerging mermaid. FRAMED it measures 19"x23" and is an original acrylic painting on a 16"x20" canvas panel and it is in a beautiful Asian bamboo themed dark brown wood frame - particularly appropriate for the subject of this piece. My husband Matt has framed this piece very beautifully indeed. She's all ready-to-hang! She is up in my eBay store at a fixed price where it will remain until either purchased on eBay by a lucky bidder or else brought with me to Dragon*Con this summer! You can see her below....

The NEXT new painting is called "Butterflies Galore" is my another new FRAMED original painting! Again, those of you lucky enough to attend MegaCon got to see her, but she is brand new for the rest of you. It features a cute big eyed girl is surrounded by so many beautiful butterflies! The colours in this painting are gorgeous! . FRAMED it measures 17"x23" and is an original acrylic painting on a long skinny 8"x16" canvas panel and it is in an elegant gold-leafed wood frame - this is one of the most gorgeous frames I've ever seen - the frame is about 4" deep and 5" wide, with stunning detail. She's all ready-to-hang! She is up in my eBay store at a fixed price where it will remain until either purchased on eBay by a lucky bidder or else brought with me to Dragon*Con this summer! You can see her below....

That's all for now! I think we're going to go take Alex out for breakfast.  Shortly I will be sure to show some photos of the originals that were already sold at MegaCon - they of course are already in new homes, but I'm sure some of you would still like to see them =) I will also have some NEW original paintings, some ACEOs, and some all-new cameo necklaces available shortly as well.   I know we need to catch up on orders & emails from the past few days, we'll take care of that tonight & tomorrow.

Thank you again to everybody who came to see me, you guys made it a fantastic show for me and I'm eternally grateful!

MegaCon TOMORROW! & Triptych Canvases from Jasmine

    Thursday, March 6, 2008, 08:46 AM [General]

    Hey everybody!

Alex () made it here safely yesterday (she's still asleep though I think - jetlag!), and we're just about all set up for MegaCon!  She helped us stick pricetags on stuff and put things in bags, etc. yesterday, and she's been getting her stuff ready as well.

We should see Carrie () today at the convention center later on as well!

We are stoked for MegaCon, it's one of my favourite shows and is right down the street.  Matt is mailing out orders at the post office right now, and then we'll be getting over to the convention center shortly!  Just about everything is already boxed up and ready to go!  I have a bunch of new paintings nobody (other than Matt & Alex) has seen yet, ready to show off at MegaCon (including a new triptych!).  I'll of course post pictures here online after the show, for those of you who can't make it out.

MegaCon runs tomorrow, Saturday & Sunday (March 7th-9th) - and yes I will be there all three days. For the benefit of the new folks (hi everybody!), here's the basic info: MegaCon is a fantasy/scifi/comic/anime/pop culture convention in Orlando, Florida. It runs tomorrow through Sunday at the Orange County Convention Center. Friday (tomorrow) it is open from 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm, on Saturday it is open from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm, and on Sunday it is open from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm. I am going to have a large booth gallery set up at MegaCon in booth numbers #713 - #715 which is near the center/front area. For a floorplan, see:

MegaCon Exhibitor's Floorplan (you can enable the zoom feature to zoom in and see the booth numbers).

It is in Orange County Convention Center Hall SB. Please take note that it is across the street in the North/South Building. The South Concourse, located inside the OCCC's South Building, faces International Drive. The street address for the South Concourse is 9899 International Drive, Orlando, FL 32819.

At MegaCon I will be bringing literally thousands of prints, stretched-and-ready-to-hang canvas prints, matted prints, never-before-seen framed original paintings (painted especially for MegaCon), my books (including the debut of my new "Portfolio One" book), my statues and other merchandise, tons of brand new cameo necklaces, other jewelry items, and other stuff as well. I will be at my booth, painting (I paint all the time, and you can watch me if you like!), signing autographs & prints & books, chatting about my art, posing for photos, and generally having fun! Everything is for sale, and I of course accept credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, AmEx), cash, and personal checks (with ID and contact information).

MegaCon also has tons of other great artists, wonderful exhibits and vendors, celebrities, panels, all the usual fun convention stuff!

For more about MegaCon, visit their official website below - I hope to see you there!

    www.megaconvention.com

Now for the new tripych canvas prints!  Finally I figured out a nice aesthetic way to offer my triptychs in the canvas format.  Basically it consists of me scanning in the whole darned thing (trim included) and plopping it down on an 11"x14" black rectangle on the print.

The new Lt. Ed. #01/25 Hand Embellished Canvas Prints are now up for auction for two of my triptych style paintings - "Alchemy Angel" and "Absinthe," - each is up for a 10-day auction on eBay starting at just a penny with NO reserve - the auctions will be ending on the evening of Friday March 14th at 7:09 PM -7:26 PM Central Time. Again - I will be home in time to ship these out promptly, so there should be no delays - feel free to bid as usual! Click the links below to see the new canvas prints:

    and "Absinthe" #01 CANVAS PRINT

Enjoy! Hope to see you at MegaCon - we're going to go start loading up boxes for it right now!

Mini Paintings, MegaCon & More From Jasmine!

    Saturday, March 1, 2008, 10:12 AM [General]

These next few days are going to be so busy!

We're of course getting ready for MegaCon!  I've been painting new originals to showcase there - I'll have several never-before-seen framed originals as well as at least one (possibly two!) new Triptych style paintings.  Very exciting!  =)  Come see me - next weekend - Friday, Saturday & Sunday - booth numbers #713-#715 are all mine!!!  It should be near the entrance, in the middle of the room (the vendors/exhibitor's area).

Alex ( http://www.cherrybones.com )  is coming to stay with us as she's doing Artist Alley at MegaCon!  She'll be here a couple of days early (we might put her to work sticking pricetags on stuff, mwahahaha), which will be fun.

Carrie ( http://www.tigerpixieart.com  ) is going to be here in town to have a table at Artist Alley too!  So, everybody be sure to hit Artist Alley at MegaCon and check out Alex & Carrie's tables (I think they are right next to each other!).  Artist Alley can be found along the back wall of the big room - a bunch of great artists there, I'm sure!

I've gotten a lot of emails from people who don't know what MegaCon is, and are perplexed by it.  Basically MegaCon is a fairly large (not as big as Dragon*Con or ComicCon or GenCon, but pretty big by most standards!) "Con" here in Orlando.  It's mostly a comic & anime convention, but there is tons of other stuff too - lots of fantasy, science fiction, collectibles, any kind of "fandom" you can think of really.  There are lots of events, guest speakers, celebrities, and of course artists.  There is a HUGE shopping area filled with vendors - like tons of little temporary stores selling all kinds of interesting things.  Booksellers, comics, DVDS, statues, stuffed animals, clothing (everything from Renaissance Festival garb to anime cosplay to fun nerdy t-shirts), all kinds of fun stuff.  It's in the huge Orange County Convention Center which is one of the nicest convention centers I've ever been to, and it's of course close to Disney World, Sea World, Universal Studios, and all the fun Florida stuff (and only about 45 minutes to the beach).

My booth(s) at MegaCon are set up like an art gallery on the sides - walls full of hanging paintings, stretched canvas prints, stuff like that.  I have big spinning racks of matted prints, bins full of loose prints, spinning racks of necklaces and cameos, cases of my statues, my books on display, various merchandise displays, all kinds of stuff.  I have an easel and I set it up and paint for all to see =)  Not sure what I'll be working on - I might start it at the show and see what happens!  I stay at my booth the whole time (maybe a bathroom break, hehe), and sign books, prints &  autographs, pose for photos, chat about my art (and whatever else people want to talk about), that type of thing.  It is a very laidback, informal setting - please feel free to come say "hi"!  I have a lot of special items I only sell at conventions (mini prints, stretched canvases, matted artwork, etc.).  Matt will be there too - he usually works as a "cashier" putting purchases in bags, helping to take paintings off of the walls, doing the money stuff, etc.  Yes - I do take credit cards - Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express - and cash - and checks (with ID & contact info).  ;)

To see some photos of MegaCons from previous years, check out their website:

    MegaCon Photos

They even have a photo of the corner of one of my previous booths HERE - to give you an idea of all the stuff I bring!

If anybody has any other questions about MegaCon - feel free to email me at JasmineToad@aol.com =)  Now onto the art!

First up are the "MINI" paintings - they are 5"x3" tiny original acrylic paintings on sheets of canvas - each is at a FIXED price of only $50 - this is the only way you can really get an original painting from me for that price, and these tend to sell instantly, so grab one if you can!! I apologize if any or all of them have sold out already....I had several others but they sold before I got a chance to send out this update!

New Mermaid, Mildew, & MegaCon from Jasmine

    Wednesday, February 27, 2008, 07:30 PM [General]

    Hi everybody!

I'm back from my trip, safe & sound! I have some photos, too - I'll post them as soon as I can =)

I have a great new original Mermaid painting to show you, and also "Mildew" prints are now on SALE!

Also a quick note - you may notice a few less paintings from me over these last several days and the next several days - reason being is that I am creating some fantastic "secret" paintings that I will be debuting at MegaCon. Those of you who come to see me at MegaCon will see these never-before-seen original paintings and get first "dibs" on them. It should be pretty exciting! I'll be at MegaCon in Orlando (at the Orange County Convention Center) at booth #s 713 through 715 from March 7th-9th. For more info visit my "Appearances" page here:

    Jasmine's Personal Appearances

Now for the NEW painting!! "Pink Spotted Mermaid" is her name - got the idea for this one out on the ocean last week. I spend a lot of my time at sea looking for mermaids and sea monsters. So far haven't seen one, but you'll all be the first to hear from me when I do! But I digress - my "Pink Spotted Mermaid" is a beauty! Silver hair, clear Caribbean seas, and a stunning spotted pink tail - it is a calm and thoughtful piece, and it will bring traquility to the viewer and certainly to any room it hangs in. She's a BIG painting (larger than my usual eBay offerings) - measuring 24"x18" - original acrylics on sheet of canvas. This original painting is up on eBay starting at just ONE PENNY with no reserve for a 10-Day auction ending the evening of Saturday, March 8th at 7:08PM Central Time. You can see her below:

Click HERE to see my new "Pink Spotted Mermaid" ORIGINAL PAINTING!

    "Mildew" 8x10" Prints only $9.99

Better run - I have some stuff to catch up on for MegaCon, coming up soon - I have paintings to finish and other stuff to get together!

See you real soon! Last minute post from Jasmine

    Wednesday, February 20, 2008, 11:39 AM [General]

    Hi everyone!

I'm getting ready to leave out the door for my trip! I have one last update for some auctions listed last night - our internet got knocked out for the past 18 hours or so, so I'm a little late sending out this update. I have a fun new CUSTOM painting auction, and a bunch of adorable little ACEO cards. They're all auctions that won't end until DAYS after I'm back home from my trip (I'll be back on Monday the 25th), so there will be no delays. As of last night - all paid orders have now shipped. All orders placed while I am gone will ship when I am back on the 25th. Thank you all for your patience!

Once again back by popular demand and many requests, I have another one of my "Custom" auctions!! Basically it is an unfinished painting - just the basics are there - a beautiful girl in front of a dark background. The winner of this auction will get to tell me what colour/style to make her hair, what colour eyes she should have, what type of skin tone, what kind of clothes, and what kind of wings (or no wings at all), or even a mermaid tail!!!!! She is an acrylic painting on a sheet of canvas and measures 8"x10". This is your chance to have an original painting customized to your specifications! Normally my custom commissioned paintings start at around $2000, so this could turn out to be a great deal. It is up for a 10-day auction with no reserve starting at just a penny, ending on Friday, February 29th at 7:00PM Central Time - you can see her below:

    "Custom Fairy" ORIGINAL PAINTING auction

Next up are my ACEO cards! These are each one of a kind, hand embellished prints on canvas - ACEO/Trading Card sized - 2.5"x3.5" - only one is ever made for each painting, I paint small details, sign & number them #1/1 (a limited edition of one!), and they are adorable! They are all up for 10 day auctions starting at a penny, ending on Friday, February 29th at 7:15PM - 9:00PM Central Time. To see ALL of the new ACEO cards, click below:
