New Autumn Mermaid framed original painting, new drawings...from Jasmine

    Wednesday, September 3, 2008, 06:49 PM [General]

    Hi everyone!

I have an AWESOME big new framed painting tonight up for auction (an Autumn Mermaid - already framed and up for one penny!), as well as two new original DRAWINGS (oswoa sized - Rose Fairy and Silvery Mermaid). Very cool stuff! As I mentioned, I will be out of town visiting Japan this upcoming week, but no worries - all of these auctions won't be ending until I'm home from my trip, so there should be no delays on these whatsoever =)

Also if the links do not appear to be clickable, simply copy & paste the full link text into the URL field of your browser!

First off is "Autumn Mermaid" - a melancholy piece, with a fantastic amount of detail - all READY TO HANG - with a gorgeous bamboo-style frame. One of my best so far, another piece showcasing my obsession with figures emerging in and out of water. This really is a show-stopper - a beautiful, somewhat sad mermaid - adrift in the chilly water, dead trees reflected on the surface. A definite hint of fall in the air - many colourful autumn leaves float about. The transitional areas where the mermaid is breaking the surface of the water, leaves resting on her and on the surrounding pond - all of it gives a dimension very special in this piece. Autumn Mermaid truly can be the focus of any room. She's very large too - a whopping 27" wide by 23" high, framed & ready to hang. This really is a lovely painting - an original acrylic painting on masonite - and she is up on eBay starting at just ONE PENNY with no reserve for a 10-Day auction ending the evening of Saturday, September 13th at 6:20PM Central Time. You can see her below:

"Autumn Mermaid" 27x23" FRAMED ORIGINAL PAINTING

Next up - due to popular demand - another couple of lovely original drawings in the OSWOATM size (4"x6"). These are both ORIGINAL DRAWINGS, not prints of any kind. Each is pencil & charcoals on toned cardstock, is 4"x6" and is absolutely beautiful. So here we have a "Silvery Mermaid Drawing" and "Rose Fairy Drawing" - each up on eBay for 10-Day auctions ending the evening of Saturday, September at 6:16- 6:18PM Central Time.

Jasmine's back from Dragon*Con with new art!

    Tuesday, September 2, 2008, 10:00 PM [General]

We just got in, made some dinner, and are now slowly but surely catching up on orders......

    BEST DRAGON*CON EVER!

We really did awesome, I'm still grinning =)

Thank you ALL who came out to see me!

Over the next few days I'll be showing off a bunch of the new paintings (those that didn't sell that is, hehe) that we brought out to the show, for those of you who couldn't make it!

Tonight are three - all going up in my eBay store.  All of them are FRAMED and ready-to-hang!  I'm leaving for Japan early Saturday, so these will only be up for a few days before I leave, so if you want one - make me an offer and grab one -hurry,hurry,hurry!:

Click HERE to see my new "Three Witchy Sisters" ORIGINAL PAINTING, FRAMED!

Click HERE to see my new "Strangely Lonely" ORIGINAL PAINTING, FRAMED!

Click HERE to see my new "Lovely Eyes" ORIGINAL PAINTING, FRAMED!

It's good to be home, if only for a few days =)  Poor Azrael & Mama Wolf missed us so much!  Of course they have babysitters while we're gone, but I can tell they really missed us a lot.  Azrael was a little hoarse, probably been mewing for us.  Mama Wolf of course is always quiet (though she sure tries to meow a lot!), but she's been rubbing up on us all evening since we got back.

Those of you who placed orders while we were gone - those are being processed now, you should receive confirmation & your orders will ship before I leave this weekend, no worries!  Matt is wading through some tonight, and the rest tomorrow, for sure.

We're working our way through the rest of the emails as well, thank you all for your patience!!!!

I'll have some more originals to post over the next few days!  This year they were very strict about the "No Cameras Allowed In The Art Show" rule, so I don't have any photos to post really.  I did a couple of originals "live" at the show, but sold both while actually at the show, and don't have pics to show for them, hehe - sorry about that!  I should have others to post shortly though, so be on the lookout!

I'm very excited about going to Japan, we're flying first to Kyoto and eventually making our way to Tokyo - I can't wait!

    Good night everybody!!

Clockwork Pumpkin & See you at Dragon*Con from Jasmine.....

    Monday, August 25, 2008, 06:40 PM [General]

    Hi everyone!

I have a great new original painting to show you! This will be my last art update before I leave for Dragon*Con. But when I come back, I'll have a ton of new paintings to show you, never fear. I will be back on September 2nd. Those of you whom had paid for your orders by noon earlier today - your orders have shipped. Orders after that and those placed while I'm gone will ship after I get back home on the 2nd. Hope to see you at Dragon*Con! For information regarding the show, visit my appearances page here:

    http://www.strangeling.com/appearances.html

Also if the links do not appear to be clickable, simply copy & paste the full link text into the URL field of your browser!

"A Clockwork Pumpkin" is the name of the new painting! Ready-to-hang, ORIGINAL acrylic on cradled masonite - no frame needed! Measuring 8"x10" - I'm very excited for Halloween already, and have this new painting to show for it! A Clockwork Pumpkin with a steampunk flair - painted in colours of sepia - gears and mechanics aplenty. This was a lot of fun to paint, and it's quite lovely!  This original painting is up on eBay starting at just ONE PENNY with no reserve for a 10-Day auction ending the evening of Monday, September 4th at 6:16PM Central Time - long after I'm back home, so there will be no delay! You can see it below:

"A Clockwork Pumpkin" ORIGINAL PAINTING - READY TO HANG - 8x10"

That was so much fun.  I'm getting my steampunk practice ias there are not just one, but two books with steampunk theming that I'll be illustrating in the near future (the continuation of the Poe character is one).

Of course most of my eBay store is on pause while I'm gone, but I do have several great auctions running still that will end after I'm home - no delays - bid with confidence! To see all of my current auctions (original paintings & canvas prints mostly!), click below - just scroll down past my "I'm at Dragon*Con disclaimer":

    http://stores.ebay.com/Strangelings-Art-Gallery

See you at Dragon*Con! Or else you'll hear from me when I'm back, with phenomenal amounts of new artwork as always =)

That's all for now ..... I'll no doubt try to post when I'm in Atlanta, etc. =)

    Enjoy!

New Painting, Important Out-Of-Town, Canvases, from Jasmine

    Saturday, August 23, 2008, 07:42 PM [General]

    Hi everyone!

Important update today! First off a brand new gorgeous BIG original painting, a TON of new #01 Canvas prints (my most recent paintings, all starting at a penny!), and then some IMPORTANT ordering information regarding the next week or so. I'll be out of town leaving Tuesday - heading for Dragon*Con - (for more info about coming to the Art Show, visit here: http://www.strangeling.com/appearances.html ). My absence will have NO EFFECT on any of the auctions I'm listing tonight, since I'll be back home in plenty of time to ship, etc.

Again - I am getting ready to go out of town in a couple of days leaving this Tuesday, August 26th - I will be at the Dragon*Con Art Show (if you're interested in coming to the show, find out more on my appearances page HERE). I'll be back home late on Tuesday, September 2nd. Not a big deal, but I will not have much access to a computer or be able to ship out packages during that time. So - if you have an outstanding order (unpaid) and can get payment to me before this Monday (the 25th) by Noon Central Time - (Paypal would work best, send to JasmineToad@aol.com ) - I can easily get your package shipped out before I leave. Otherwise - no hurry on payment - I will be back home on the 2nd and will be able to ship out your package after I get back. Not a problem either way, whatever is easiest for you! Please let me know asap if you have any questions - or if your order is very time sensitive or anything like that - let me know asap (I can Express Mail it if absolutely necessary, hehe!). I am not sure what kind of email access I will have while I am gone, so please forgive me if there is a delay in my email responses after I have left. PLEASE NOTE: my eBay store permanent items will go "on pause" while I'm gone, so the actual store listings will seem to disappear while I'm gone. They will magically re-appear upon my return, do not worry. My regular eBay auctions will be up and running as usual with no changes and I'll be back home in time to ship everything, so please, feel free to bid as usual! Feel free to place website orders as well, just understand they will not be processed & shipped until I'm home.

Now - the new original painting - "The Scarlet Sofa"! A thoroughly Victorian Gothic feeling permeates this painting - a big eyed darling lounges on a deep red fainting couch in a classic pose. There are a lot of intricate details in this piece - delicately painted Victorian wallpaper, a checkerboard marble floor, and the edge of a magnificent painting on the wall (actually inspired by one on the wall in my own house). Theis piece looks even lovely in person with the deep jewel tones, it truly can be the focus of any room. This is an ORIGINAL PAINTING - not a print of any kind! It is on GALLERY STYLE CRADLED MASONITE - Matt has added a hanger on the back, so it is READY TO HANG! No frame needed! She is BIG - a 24"x18" painting (masonite, ready-to-hang) and is up for sale on eBay - a ten day auction starting at ONE PENNY with no reserve - ending on the evening of Tuesday, September 2nd at 7:07PM CENTRAL TIME (I'll be back home in time!) and you can see her below - click on the picture to see the big painting & details:

"The Scarlet Sofa" ORIGINAL PAINTING 24"x18" Ready-To-Hang!

Next my new #01 Lt. Ed. CANVAS Prints! Black Orchid Fairy, Lovely Eyes, Strangely Lonely, Cretaceous Mermaid, Princess with a Himalayan Cat, Poe, and Marie Masquerade! Each is hand embellished in paint by me, little details added, signed & numbered - each of these is the first, #01 print of their edition - #01 out of 25. Here is your chance to scoop up the very first ones - each is starting at a penny, with no reserve for ten-day auctions ending on the evening of Tuesday, September 2nd at 6:45 - 7:04 PM Central Time (again, I'll be back home from Dragon*Con by then, so bid with confidence of no delays!).

New Halloween/Ghost painting, Dragon*Con, etc. from Jasmine......

    Sunday, August 17, 2008, 07:10 PM [General]

    Hey everybody-

Still a little miffed/depressed that the Bigfoot news is looking like a hoax =(  Hmph.

Tropical Storm Fay (tell me, doesn't that sound like a painting I'd do, lol?) - looks like she's going to turn Hurricane and stop by our neck of the woods for a bit.  I don't anticipate it causing much trouble from us (not from a customer service angle at least).  We've been through rough hurricanes in the past and our house is built very solid, and since we're on Disney's power grid, we've never lost power =)  But if for some reason you don't hear anything from me around Tuesday/Wednesday, it could potentially be storm related.  (Hopefully though, she'll just peter out into a rainstorm over the Gulf).

Okay, art stuff.  I have a brand new Halloween/Autumn themed original (ready-to-hang!) painting for you tonight called "Ghost of the Pumpkin Patch," as well as my "Black Orchid Fairy" prints available as this week's SALE prints! Also a quick reminder that I will be at Dragon*Con coming up very soon (August 29th - September 1st!) in Atlanta, Georgia!

A lot of you seem to have questions about Dragon*Con - for many of you coming to see me, it may be your first time there, or at any fantasy convention. Please, please, please - feel free to simply email me at JasmineToad@aol.com if you have absolutely ANY questions, even if they seem silly! I'm always happy to answer questions, give suggestions, give directions, show maps, tips, etc. and provide information about the Dragon*Con Art Show and my appearance there, ask away - Matt or I will try to answer your questions right away. Also - if you're coming "for sure," and you would like me to bring anything special for you (a specific print, a stretched canvas print, anything like that) - I have a box I keep "special requests" in, and will hold it for you until you come to my booth =) My prices at Dragon*Con are very discounted for those of you who come in person to see me, so you really can get a bargain =) The Dragon*Con Art Show is held at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta - the lower level. Dragon*Con can be large and confusingly big, so just remember - Art Show = Hyatt Regency Atlanta! I'll be there all day every day. I have so many new original paintings I'll be debuting, as well as tons of new cameo pendants, stretched ready-to-hang canvases, mini-prints, signed prints, statues & figurines, books & merchandise. I'll also be painting "LIVE" if you'd like to see how I paint!

Next is the new original painting! It is called "Ghost of the Pumpkin Patch" - I'm starting with the Halloween art early this year (there will be plenty more to come, too!). This is a hauntingly lovely painting - a big eyed wistful ghostly girl floats through the mists of an abandoned pumpkin patch. Subtle colours and a bleak landscape give this piece a rather haunted feel, with some sun-bleached picked-over pumpkins, and the lonesome look of the "ghost." This is an ORIGINAL PAINTING - acrylic paints on GALLERY STYLE CRADLED MASONITE - Matt has added a hanger on the back, so it is READY TO HANG! No frame needed! Quite adorable, and quite large as well, measuring 16"x20". It is up for a PENNY auction at eBay - going for 7 days ending on Sunday, August 24th at 6:12PM Central Time. Yes this auction really is starting at a penny, so everybody can get a chance at it - click below on the sneak preview thumbnail image to see the whole painting:
