A bit of background info - Hawthorne Village is a company that makes little collectible villages! You know - little statues of buildings to set up as a little village - they come as a collection - every month or so you get a new one. Not only do you get a little house/castle - you also get little complimentary FIGURINES that go with the village! So you can display them along with their houses, or play with them like it's a very high-end playset (that's what I do, lol, but I'm kind of silly like that). I have Disney's "Nightmare Before Christmas" Hawthorne Village set and it is AWESOME. I'm very happy to now be working on a Jasmine Becket-Griffith one, hehe.

This is my first Village with Hawthorne Village and specifically it revolves around my "Fairies of Oz" official Wizard of Oz series. This is very much still in the works, but due to the anticipated demand and the fact that these are strictly Limited Ediion, the Hawthorne Village people (very different than the other Village People!) are already offering my Fairies of Oz Village available for pre-order/pre-production reservations. What does this mean? It means that if you think that you would be interested in collecting my Village, you can put your reservation in NOW, right away, without paying ANY money, just to make sure that you will have reserved yours ahead of time and you won't miss out. And if you change your mind later, it is very easy to cancel, and with their 100% guarantee you can even send yours back (gasp!) for a full refund if you aren't completely thrilled. So it's definitely a "NO RISK" sort of reservation.

As this is still in the works, I do not have a lot of the item specifics yet for my little village. Obviously I, as the concept artist and character designer, know what all I've approved and what will be coming down the road, sketches, etc. - but as far as product specifics, timeline, etc. - you will need to check with the Hawthorne Village/ Collectibles Today people with questions. Here is what I know so far:

*The village is based on my "Fairies of Oz" collectibles line and my paintings

*In addition to the little village "houses" (castles, buildings, etc.) - you also will be receiving UNIQUE "Fairies of Oz" figurines to go with the little village - these are DIFFERENT than the Fairies of Oz figurines you can buy through the Hamilton Collection. These are little figurines that are meant to accent the village.

*The first Issue is called "Off to Oz" and features my "Emerald City" as a little building to start off your village (NOT to be confused with the Emerald City Display from my Fairies of Oz Hamilton Collection - this is not the same sort of thing at all) and it comes with a little Dorothy figurine.

*There may be up to 20 different issues in this village, but you can just order one, or pick & choose which ones you want to keep/send back, etc.

*Future issues MAY include - Glinda & her Castle, Dorothy's Farmhouse, The Wicked Witch of the West & her Castle, and more!

*When put together, the buildings will make a wonderfully village specifically scaled to be shown as a set (or individually).

*Each issue is only $39.99 (and that includes the building and free figurine or other accessories) - and you can do it in Two Installments of $20 if you prefer!

Faces of Faery is a very popular series of paintings I've been working on featuring beautiful faces from all corners of the world of Faery (and fairytales, and fantasy in general!). Now, let me introduce "Babirusa Skull" Ready to hang - 2" deep cradled masonite it is is an ORIGINAL acrylic painting measuring 16"x12". I love this painting! There is a cute babirusa (a very strange little mammal with amazing tusks) that Matt & I visit a lot at a park near our home. Babirusas are kinda like little piggies, but thei have these crazy tusks that actually grow straight through their nostrils. Anyway, we were talking about how wicked their skulls must look - I found a museum site and indeed - their skulls are way cool. So I painted a creepy little girl holding one on her lap - there's a lot of strange stuff going on in this one, just humour me on this one, lol. I have a new painting to show you tonight! I am simply in love with this one "Cello Storm" - it has everything, a cello, a cat, beautiful scenery, a thunderstorm....and I have prints up already too! Also just a head's up - I will be out of town later on this week - shouldn't affect much, but I just like to let you all know.

Quick note: As I mentioned, I will be out of town (out of the country) from Thursday, February 4th through Sunday, February 7th. This will not affect ANY of my auctions, I won't be leaving until current ones have ended, and the others won't end until I get back home. So this will not affect bidding in any way - no worries. My eBay store (ie, just the prints) will go into vacation mode while I'm gone, but again - actual auctions (canvases, originals, aceos, etc.) will not be affected, so please (please!) bid while I'm gone, I'll be home in plenty of time to ship! All right, the new original painting! "Cello Storm" is the title -a gothic beauty playing the cello - out in the rolling fields - playing feverishly as a lightning storm approaches..... I adore Rococo furniture and had fun juxtaposing a magnificent sofa in the outdoor setting. The little black cat is my own baby Azrael, who has the habit of appearing in my paintings. I listed to a lot of classical cello music whilst painting this piece, as well as some Rasputina and Matson Jones, hehe. This is a BIG painting too - 24" high by 18" wide! 2" deep cradled masonite panel, it is ready-to-hang - no frame needed.
