Lady Artisan/Eva

    Finished!

Whew! Got this kind of wild idea and then I had a local show looming on the horizon so I decided to pile all kinds of pressure on myself and throw the two together.

The idea: started with a string of rough, sponge coral nuggets that my mother found at a bead show and handed to me, knowing I wouldn't be able to resist them. My first thought on seeing them was that they looked like a spine. My next thought was that I could make a dragon skeleton out of them that looked like a fossil dug up at an archaeological site (I love the look of artifacts).

I got the piece completed and framed (in a shadow box with a printed info sheet under it describing what it was and where it was found, etc.) in time for the show. I am still working on the "documentation" for it which will consist of photos of it being "uncovered" from 1947; a printed copy of the information on where it was found with comments, etc.; and a Certificate of Authenticity from the IDCA (International Dragon Collectors Association--hey, "we'll" even have a website here soon if I can find the time to put it together).

I'll try to add more pics once I get them taken and edited.

Hope it's ok that I've posted this on the Dragons forum, too.

Intro and Why Am I Here

Dawn from Oddfae posted a link to this site and I liked the setup so I came on down. I don't "do" fairies, though, at least not in the modern traditional sense, so what makes this a good fit for me? Personally, I prefer fairies with sharp teeth and snarls. But I do like dragons and I'm in the middle of writing several fantasy stories about good and bad wizards, a dragon or two along with some other mythical features, potions, curses, prophecies....

So I've posted a slideshow of some of my more fantasy-oriented work. I've already got more blogs than I can handle so I doubt I'll update this one any more regularly than my We Love Etsy blog (yep, got an Etsy shop if you see something you think you can't live without: Lady Artisan Etsy). You can also check out my website to see what all I do: Lady Artisan. I might just focus on posting some of my writing here when I'm into working on it, which I'm doing right now but it's still in the prep stages before I have any "real" scenes completed. But I have one or two sketched out so I might post those as I go. Isn't it fun to have no pressure and no agendas?
