About Me: I was a French major in college, and now I work in accounting (nothing to with one another I know) However, I still love French and obviously faeries and fantasy. I really hate these about me sections, so if you really want to know anything else about me just ask.
Music: I love all different kinds of music, everything from Tori Amos and Pete Yorn to Mozart and Debussey. I play the piano so I love classical pieces. I really like Charlotte Church and Sarah Brightman, I like french music, Isabelle Boulay and Francis Cabrel are two of my favorites. I also like the Smashing Pumpkins, the Cranberries, the Killers, Our Lady Peace, Weezer, Dashboard Confessional and Incubus.
Movies: My fav movie of all time is Breakfast at Tiffany's. I love anything Audrey Hepburn did, and the same goes for Cary Grant. I like weird, independent movies that nobody else likes. I also love the Sound of Music, Pretty in Pink, Birthday Girl, I liked the LOTR trilogy the first hundred times I watched it, the Princess Bride, and lots of old pre-1970's movies.
TV: I don't really watch a lot of TV, i don't even have cable. I do like to watch CSI and all the spin offs, as well as Bones and House sometimes.
Books: I am an avid reader. I love Patricia McKillip, she is my favorite author, if she wrote it you can pretty much bet that I like it. I really like Garth Nix's Abhorsen trilogy, Pat O'Shea's The Hounds of the Morrigan, and any other good, non-cheesy fantasy. My favorite Poets are Paul Verlaine, Victor Hugo, Tennyson, Keats, and Robert Desnos. Colette is my absolute favorite french writer and she is almost tied with Ptricia Mckillip as my first favorite.
Likes: Hmm, I love art. My favorite Artists are Kinuko Craft, John William Waterhouse, Alphonse Mucha, William Bougereau, Paulina Stuckey, Brian Froud and Marc Potts. Ilike both the Symbolists and the Pre-Raphaelites. I like Celtic/Irish history and art, as I said before I love the French language and culture. I really like Faery/fantasy art and literature. I also like cooking, shopping, doing yoga and Johnny Depp.
Dislikes: I dislike a lot of things, but there are far too many to list here and that would just put me in a bad mood if I thought about them.
Hobbies: Reading, writing for my own amusement, singing and playing the piano, speaking and studying french, shopping, cooking, and being with my friends and family.
Vices: I smoke when I drink, I curse when I get angry, I have horrible road rage, I have bad PMS (or so my husband says)and the list goes on and on
Virtues: Hmmm, I think I am fairly intelligent, I try to be kind to others, I am a hard worker and a good cook.
Heroes: My grandmother, and all the women who fought for their rights so that women have the rights we have today.

    Cristmas and Road Rage

    Friday, December 14, 2007, 01:56 PM [General]

You always hear on the news that the holiday season is the most stressful time of the year.  I never really paid attention to that statistic, because up until now I was always in school and not actually out in the real world.  But now this year,  I am actually out in the real world with a real job and real responsibilities, I am starting to believe that all those experts on TV might be right.  There are exactly 10 days until Christmas and the majority of my Christmas shopping is still not done.  The traffic is absolutely horrible and my already bad road rage has reached new levels of fury.  The post office and office depot (two places I regularly go to for work related errands) are zoos.  I never noticed before how everthing and everybody goes absoluetly nutty this time of year.  I guess when you have your own house and your own tree you have to put presents under you view the whole Christmas season in a new kind of light.  I'm sure my parents and grandparents are laughing behind my back as they watch me experinece the madness that they have had to endure for the last 23 years.
