About Me: Wife, daughter, sister, art teacher, friend, soon-to-be mommy (i got one in the oven!)....I love my family and my friends, and these relationships are so important to me. I love nature--that's where I feel I connect to God the most, through the earth. You can learn a lot just by staring at the moon and listening to the the wind in the trees, I'd say.
Music: New Age, folksy, faerie stuff;)
Movies: LOTR, Labrinth, The Secret of Nimh, The Last Unicorn, The Dark Crystal, The Princess Bride, The Last of the Mohicans, Braveheart, anything Tim Burton, and all things Jim Henson.
TV: Never really watch it. I loved HBO's Rome though, which I would rent on the weekends and spend oodles of time watching from my soft, comfy bed. I also have a quirky liking for that old show MASH. It's weird, I know, but Alan Alda cracks me up:)
Books: Oh my, couldn't list them all, but here's a few: The Wind in the Willows, LOTR, The Hobbit, Faeries, the Newford series by Charles de Lint, the Chronicles of Narnia, and many others.
Likes: Art, traveling, music, rainy days, the sea, the woods, horseback riding, books, tea, fantasy stories, spending time with my husband.
Dislikes: Mean people and people who think they're better than others. Pride (the bad sort). It's hardest for me to love people like that, but I'm trying. Anyone who is intolerant of the personal beliefs of others.
Hobbies: Drawing, painting, writing poetry, nature walking and collecting interesting leaves, sticks, and stones, READING, looking at the art of others, ceramics, and I just got into mask-making.
Vices: SLEEP! I love my big, soft bed and collect pillows for it. I was one of those rare babies that slept through the night from birth...My parents woke up the morning after bringing me home from the hospital and panicked when they realized it was full-on morning and I'd not woken up once. They thought I'd died or something! I've been sleeping soundly ever since;)
Virtues: Hmmm...Well, I try, but I wouldn't number myself among the few virtuous people that have graced this planet. I am a public high-school teacher though, and I think that counts for something!
Heroes: My husband, for being the hardest worker and most giving, unselfish person I know.
Hello Light-thru-leaf, thank you for your kind invitation, I'd love a cuppa - milk, no sugar please! Being a teacher makes you a complete hero in my book, well done you and thank you again - what wonderful work good folk like you do and because of your magical ways and special energy, those younglings are blessed indeed! (We're watching MASH at the moment with our boys, it would be a shame for this generation to miss out - and learn...)
BeYour bed sounds fantastic, I go to mine when the going gets tough - some women shop, I retreat under the duvet with BBC Radio 4.
Smiles, from a fellow collector of stones and other treasures found through the years and still loved,
