I love to visit historical and unusual places as much as possible and have been to a few Neolithic sites and stone circles over the past few years. I have to say that my favourite so far is “Long Meg and her Daughters” in the Lake District. Something very special about that place, and I love how the trees actually grow inside the circle. Others must also feel the same as me, since coloured ribbons can be found all over the lower tree branches which is evidence of people feeling some kind of magical presence in the area.

One of my favorite magical places is Cacapon Mountain here in Berkeley Springs WV. I go there as often as possible, but my favorite time to go has to be early in the morning. When the mists are still playing in the trees, the blowing wind sounds like the sea. I imagine i'm present in a prehistoric time and the ocean still covers the earth, and here it is, at my feet. I can almost hear the mermaids.
My mother and I went there on my birthday last year in the middle of the day. We surprised a small black bear!
I like to build stone people... i'll post some pictures here when I have some time. I visit them to see how they've changed. One little fellow has been there all summer!

Whether out in the forest, by the ocean or a park, I find that nature inspires in many ways. It is a place of tranquilty and special moments where I feel in tune with everything around me.
